I highly recommend The Dryer Vent Guys. I needed them to re-direct my dryer duct vent so it could be properly cleaned. I live in a condo on the 3rd floor and the builders didn't do a great job when hooking the duct work making it impossible to clean the exterior. Big time fire hazard!!! they came and said they couldn't clean my duct work. then charged me 129 dollars for inspection. told me to change the flexible duct work in my attic would cost me 1,000 dollars. so exhausted by upselling big companies. I found them to be an unsuitable choice for dryer vent cleaning. They attempted to inspect the property and subsequently provided recommendations for improvements. These recommendations would have cost about $2,000+, which I found laughable. They also promised to follow up with pictures but I never received them. Worst of all, I felt they engaged in fear mongering as part of their pitch and objection handling. I'd call someone else first before wasting your time. read more

I needed a reconfiguration of my dryer vent duct because the previous owner did something that was not safe. Bobby and Tyler helped me work through the options and did a great job. The price they quoted was fair for Fairfax County, albeit more than I anticipated. However, it took them several hours of real work and you get what you pay for. I also opted for the animal resistant exterior wall exhaust which adds a little piece of mind and is easier to maintain. Keep in mind, they understandably don't do drywall patching, but they did do a nice job of making clean cuts so I could repair it myself. read more

Kind of expensive for what little I needed done, but the vent is high up and I'd rather pay these guys to clean the dryer vent than have my inexperienced hubby way up there and risk falling. Setting up the appointment was easy, with a personable and organized staff member, who sent a text confirmation. The technician, Jackson, arrived on time and spent two hours thoroughly cleaning my dryer vent. I received both a text and a courtesy call from him prior to his arrival. Jackson was friendly and professional, and he cleaned up the work area after he had finished cleaning the vent. This is my second 5-star experience with this company. I used a different, less expensive, but negligent (10 minutes on the cleaning and no vacuuming of the vent) company. Given the dangers of accumulated lint, which creates a tinderbox in the vent, it's worth the money to use a company like the Dryer Vent Guys. If I could give a negative number of stars I would. BIRD PROBLEM? BUYERS BEWARE .... We had birds take up residence in our exhaust vent over our range. This company had been recommended by several neighbors so we thought it was a no brainer. They "cleaned" which is blowing out the debris and performed their so-called sanitizing method and 10 minutes after they left I could still hear the birds in the duct work. I immediately called and they scheduled a tech to come back out the next day. He arrived and put the camera down the vent and advised that there was 1 live bird and 2 dead ones. How they can say they "performed" their service is beyond me. You cannot sanitize and clean something when there is still wildlife stuck in the vent/ducts. I had to have another person come to my home and remove the live bird and dead birds. Our entire vent hood is now trashed as it's full of bird droppings and the ducts are covered in bird droppings as well. Their so-called fine print is at the very bottom of the scheduling email in the lightest gray font possible and their "satisfaction guarantee" refund of $50 is a joke. I'll be posting on all social media platforms and providing all of these details to my neighbors that have used their "services" and will never recommend this company to anyone. They arrived in a timely manner. Even contacted me when they were 10 minutes away so that I could secure my dogs. They were professional and cleaned out nearly 5 years worth of lint! They even found a removed a piece of plastic building material that was in my gutter! They cleaned up behind themselves and even offered up options of stores that sold refurbished appliances if I decided to replace the dryer. We scheduled service with The Dryer Vent Guys because our dryer was heating up the house and loads of laundry were taking longer than normal to dry. We had our dryer vent cleaned two years prior by another company, however, we could see that a bird was building a nest in our dryer exhaust vent, which was on a second story. Of course, a dryer vent fire was an immediate concern. Ben came out and performed the cleaning in about an hour and did a fabulous job. He said that there was an active nest in the vent, and boy, the amount of debris that came out of the vent was unbelievable! We essentially had kindling in our vent. After Ben finished the cleaning, he installed a vent cover to prevent future nests in the vent (extra charge, but well worth it). Once the work was completed, all of the debris was cleaned up, nothing was left on our roof, lawn, or inside the house where the dryer is located. I am super impressed with this company and would highly recommend them, from the initial scheduling to job completion, A+ company! read more

I called the dryer vent guys to get a simple vent cleaning. It was scheduled with not too much effort as I provided all the information That was requested by the person who was responsible for scheduling. The cleaner came and was very kind and professional. So why the 2 star rating? Because failure to communicate critical information is the bane of my existence and an issue that royally pisses me off. Once the cleaner came inside and saw the my dryer vent I was told, sorry but I can't clean that and it has to be replaced. No information was passed down to me on certain vents not being eligible to be cleaned and now a simple cleaning job is becoming a nearly $1000 vent replacement. Had this company staff been better about their standards and communicated critical information I would have found someone different or atleast been aware of the situation i would be facing. This company needs to train staff better as this is absolutely unacceptable and all I can see at this point is a company conveniently misinforming people to get more cash out of them. The only reason this even gets 2 stars is that the tech who came out was apologetic, professional, and did his best to work with and explain as much to me.
