MY friend and I went to their weekend Summer Solstice Native Plant Sale. There were vendors with many blooming perennial native plants and shrubs, even unusual species. I have been adding to our native plant gardens for many years, and I found three healthy unusual plants I have been looking for as well estaished plants already in bud, very reasonably priced. Unfortunately I have trouble walking , and could not walk up and visit their lovely gardens. One of the best integrated sculpture garden/landscape garden/botanical garden/art installations we have ever experienced. Excellent guide map gives a little blurb about each significant stop, and leads you around so you don't miss a thing. It is not a huge place where you walk half a mile in between sculptures, it is a pleasant path of regularly-occurring creative elements to observe and appreciate. Look up, down, and all around so you don't miss the many sculptures made from reclaimed salvage. Barbells, band saws, cymbals, farm implements -- all welded together in artistic ways that guide you along the path. Meanwhile, flora and fauna of unique varieties abound. Benches and chairs here and there. We strolled along and spent about 90 minutes doing the loop on the grounds. So much to see, so many deep breaths to take, plenty of picnic spots. So well done, you can feel the years of effort that has gone into the plan and execution. We were looking for a break from the beach scene and this was a quick 30 minutes away and what a treat. The gardens are varied and the inclusion of sculptures creates an unexpected element to many of the vignettes. The use of well thought out sight lines makes the walk effortless. read more

After reading the reviews on Google and Yelp my fiancé and I were excited to bring our son here to spend some time outdoors and check out the gardens. The woman at the desk who greeted us was very kind and polite. We arrived a little less than 2 hours before closing, so we were expecting to pay a little less than the $15 suggested donation but we were charged full price. No big deal, we were looking to experience something fun and different outdoors. While we did enjoy ourselves, the gardens were a bit disappointing. The lack of signage near the flowers made it impossible to know what exactly we were looking at. The art was very different and neat, but something explaining what it was would've been a nice addition to have there. I also disliked that at one exhibit there was an electric fence surrounding it, but no signs indicating that there were bees inhabiting that area. Having a baby, that was a bit concerning. Overall it was an experience that was unique and it was a bonus to be able to be outdoors, but I don't think we would visit again. The suggested donation of $15 per person is a little bit too much in my opinion for what the site offers. Some areas just looked like there were trash heaps. I also didn't like how the trails weren't marked and the map that was given to us wasn't very detailed. It was cool to see some of the sculptures and the gardens were beautiful, but it was small and not worth it in my personal opinion. read more

It's in our neighborhood and a beautiful spot to escape for a bit. They have a nice new parking lot and you wouldn't know the traffic from rte 125 was just beyond. read more

Bedrock Gardens is kinda weird, but in a hippies who really enjoyed metalwork and gardening founded a place in New England to establish themselves kind of way. We came here for a fairy festival, complete with violin playing fairy, people in full costume(wizards!), and a fairy house competition that blew me away. We got sidetracked by Gnome Depot, where you could gather supplies to make your own fairy house. The gardens themselves aren't crowded, so you have plenty of picture opportunities and time to study the mostly metal sculptures scattered throughout the grounds. This seems like a great place for families, but would also work as a cute date place. Parking is a little weird (they're working on a campaign at the moment to expand to have a real lot), with a shuttle bus every 15 minutes. Or you may luck out and squeeze in to their tiny lot. $15 entry fee for the special event. Only open for events, tours, and the spring/summer/early fall season. The owners are the salt of the earth people, creating a magnificent manicured garden full of exotic plant life and pieces of art. Guided tours are available, and themed events run throughout the season. A lively band plays and there's a gift shop to pick up a small souvenir from your visit. I'm not a gardener or a sculptor, but I appreciate both, and lots of both is what Bedrock Gardens offers. Almost 40 acres of amazingly beautiful gardens would be worth the visit but Bedrock adds hundreds of pieces of art, mostly metal sculptures and all designed and built for precisely this place. I'm a senior and appreciated the gently sloping grassy parts and other easy places to walk and the many places along the way to sit. I spent nearly 3 hours there and enjoyed every minute. I live in Massachusetts, but I'll go back with different friends next time. Children would be in paradise here, finding something fascinating to look at around every corner. read more

We decided to visit for the first time last weekend while the Wild Encounters was there. We arrived at 3:30 and parking was easy since they close at 4. As the website said a $10 donation per person is suggested but arriving so late we thought a donation of less would be ok. As we approached the welcome desk we learned that the donation is required. They do take credit cards. The lady volunteers were friendly but the man welcomed me by saying " that's a big baby" . Kinda odd. Overall we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and had a great little visit. I don't know that we will be rushing back. read more

I saw the garden featured on WMUR's Chronically last month. What a gem... there are sculptures at every turn. And the garden-scapes are magnificent. Next time, I'd like to go early enough to catch the guided tour. It was a great afternoon and overwhelming to think of the time spent creating it. read more

My family and I came by today to enjoy a day outdoors. Seeing on the website that Bedrock Gardens opens at 10am, we arrived at 10:15 ready to see some outdoor art. We were met by a few staff at the parking and were asked if we were volunteers. When we told the staff we just came by to visit the garden they seemed confused and told us they didn't open until 11am but we could park anyway and wait. We went to the ticket counter to get more information and were met by a few more staff. They told us this was a special day and they weren't opening at 10am like their website indicates. They asked us to leave and come back at 11am. Then they asked us not to park in the parking lot, but to park at an offsite location so that we could be bused in. They asked us to leave and come back 30 minutes later. I couldn't believe it. What bad customer service. Organizations, especially nonprofits, should never turn away consumers. My family and I ended up spending a wonderful morning enjoying the outdoors at a revolutionary encampment just up the road who was welcoming everyone to their organization. read more
