I revisited for the first time since then with my 1 year old son today to soak in the warm weather. The playground isn't huge but it's nice, with fairly new equipment and a little something for all ages. They have a couple of toddler swings (as in 2), a couple of "big kid" swings (also, just 2), and a good-sized playground with several slides (including a nice, tall one for the big kids!) They also have a bunch of picnic tables under a large, covered shelter, a soccer field, and tennis courts. Oh, and there are bleachers next to the playground (for the soccer field, I'm assuming) so there's plenty of room to hang out/eat lunch while the kiddos are playing!

It's a moderately interesting park with walking trails and at least one party event space I'm aware…read moreof. The parking is easy and the restroom is clean enough. I'm not one to ever rate a nature spot badly but I will add one reservation. The walking trails are very tough on the legs. Once free from the entrances, there isn't ten feet of level space walking space. It's an incline/decline roller-coaster chock full of outgrown roots. Your knees have to be in top shape, and you cannot take your eyes off the ground for fear of tripping over roots. Every trail is different. Lake Johnson is almost all wide pavement. Hemlock Bluffs is almost all mulch/dirt. Those are very easy, well-maintained places to walk, by comparison. This set of trails isn't so simple. It's an up/down affair where you must keep your eyes open at all times. All that said, it's got some very scenic spots and it's a great place to take your dog. We enjoy going there often. A.

They use to have a big slide that was alot of fun & they had seesaws. Maybe too many people got hurt and they removed the seesaws but that was the best part about the left side. The slide, last time I saw it - wasn't in the best shape. But that's just normal wear and tear. The right entrance however, big playground - lots to do. I had fun here even as a teenager. I still occasionally come here to walk the trail, I like this park alot. Lots of good memories here.

Parking was right near the playground and close to the pavilion. They had paved handicapped parking spaces. The equipment looks brand new and they have hand sanitizer units on every section. They have shade umbrellas, 2 sliding sections, lots of climbers, 2 full swing sets, teeter saws, a sand volleyball pit and it looked like they're still developing. So happy to have found this place!

This park is very scenic and it used to be a golf course. It's surrounded by large homes, and you can peek at everyone's backyard and sometimes that's awkward. Lol. My biggest complaint is that the trails need to be wider. It's impossible to social distance and when someone is walking in the opposite direction, someone ends up in the grass (usually me). I appreciate all of the doggie poop bag stations, and there are several bathrooms located off the trails. I give this park 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up because I'm generous.

There is a playground, splash pad, a cafe, air conditioned bathroom, botanical gardens, amphitheater, and a little cafe. There were signs for a parking garage, but there is also street parking nearby too. Overall a great and free place to spend time with kids.

The park is very accessible so I came to appreciate that as I was able to take the ramps and paths to avoid the stairs. The maps and signage make the park easy to navigate. Parking was also very easy; you can park behind the Cary Library, in the Town Hall Deck, in the parking lot on Charlie Gaddy Lane or in street parking spots. I enjoy the public art while strolling through the park. The cardinals in the play area, the water fountain, the Skywalk, the Gathering House, and just taking in nature. The park offers many options for visitors. It is a nice addition for the community.
