I visited this famous Bistro today, drawn in by the absolutely magnificent, sprawling green lawn out front. While the exterior landscape is truly great, the interior aesthetic is quite a surprising departure eccentrically decorated to evoke the feel of a cozy, whimsical mouse family house. It is certainly an unconventional choice, but it keeps the atmosphere intimate and entirely uncrowded. I settled into a perfectly serene, quiet area to dine. The hospitality was lovely from the start; the server was incredibly friendly and immediately offered a refreshing drink. I must note that their menu is absolutely complete, offering an impressive array of selections. For my entree, I ordered their signature grilled chicken, and it was an absolute triumph. The chicken was exceptionally tender, succulent, and seasoned to absolute perfection. While the indoor decor is rather eclectic, the culinary execution and the stunning outdoor setting make this place feel like a lost nirvana. Very cute little restaurant. The food was great and the bread served with meal was awesome. Service was good. My only complaint is that the prices were pretty high. I ordered Mac n cheese and it was good, but not great, it was around $4 for about a half a cup. A bowl of gumbo was about $18, if I'm remembering correctly. Everything is homemade and nothing is out the can. The nachos are amazing add some gator and ummmmmmm ummm ummm. Majority of the entrees come in two heaping sizes. Wow! This is a hidden gem for sure! The menu has so many things on it that's it's just hard to pick. They made it easy by bringing out testers of some of classics! Gumbo, Crawfish pie and Chicken/Dumplings! They were all superb!! They start with yeast rolls and hot water cornbread with honey butter on the table. I can't say enough great things about this place.
