This place has a really good selection of cigars and I was surprised by the selection of tobacco pipes and pipe tobacco they have on hand albeit overpriced. That being said, when I walked into the humidor to look at the cigars both employees hovered around or peeked through the window. I suppose to make sure I wasn't stealing. I don't think I look like a thief. I spend a lot of money on both cigars and pipe tobacco. They asked me several times if I needed help....... Beehive Cigars is a hidden gem to say the least! I first heard about it from my former roommate who was a cigar cones-our or however you say it! In lay mans terms "cigar snob" like coffee snobs, there are most certainly cigar snobs and that is not a bad thing in the slightest! You can find some amazing be light candle co candles stocked here and would love to be able to stock up some more for these wonderful people! The tobacco candle we have flew off the shelves here. I've been frequenting Beehive since they were down the street near Costco. It's a nice shop with an excellent selection and pretty good staff. The one thing that bugs me is the "we're pretty sure you are going to try to steal from us" vibe you get. I am in there often, and it seems they are trying to create busy work in the humidor, regardless of whaat they were doing when you came in. Under the guise of "we're here to help" is a stalker vibe. Stopped in to enjoy a stogie. Apparently, their lounge and liquor offerings were closed down due to local law changes. Nevertheless, they had a very large humidor with a great cigar selection, along with a few nonalcoholic beverages to purchase. If you need alcohol, then you can visit the liquor store across the street. They have benches out front to enjoy your selections. I had a very enjoyable 20th anniversary Perdomo and great conversation with a couple other patrons. The shop staff were very helpful, and happy to assist in selections. Had no idea SLC could be so liberated. This is not only a great lounge to enjoy your hand rolled sticks, but a well stocked humidor as well. They carry most of my favorite cigar brands as well as some hard to find labels. In particular the Senorial line by Jose Blanco. Staff is excellent and friendly. The shop has tons of cool hardware, too. Humidors, humidification devices, cutters, lighters, etc. all high quality. It costs $10 to use the lounge part to enjoy your smoke, but that is waived for purchases over $30. This is a BYOB establishment. You can run across the street to the state controlled liquor store and bring back a beverage to enjoy. How perfect. read more

I want to highlight one employee particularly, Jimbo Taylor. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be a patron at Beehive. This guy is like the Neil deGrasse Tyson of cigars. I have never seen someone have so much love and passion for what he does. When I walk into that shop, and I am uncertain of which cigar to go with, Jimbo walks me through, not only his recommendations but the education of why that particular cigar is as good as he claims. Jimbo is a genuine soul. That man has a good heart, and if he ever leaves Beehive, I am following him wherever he goes. This dude is so valuable. He is a national treasure. read more

Best experience ever! I went in looking for a buddies birthday gift. Not knowing much about cigars and being treated very badly at tinderbox i wasn't sure how this experience was going to go. I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as i walked up to the door the workers jumped up and asked how they could help. They both looked through the store and gave me some options and ultimately a great deal. Very friendly very helpful and just down to earth nice people. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air. Amazing selection! I travel a fair amount and have been to cigar stores all over the US. Beehive has the broadest secretion I have seen. Not only many, many makers but many vitolas and blends within each brand. Yeah, the Utah sin tax is a bummer but not the tobacconist's fault. Very friendly and helpful staff. As of February 2022, because of SLC regs, you can't smoke there. However, that humidor is off the charts stocked. Their house cigars were good especially for the price. I'm in Salt Lake City for work and felt a cigar would be nice. When I asked where the lounge was I was told they are no longer allowed to have them in SLC. Having just taken a Lyft there from my hotel this kinda sucked. Definitely not the establishment's fault though. I just wish it was clearer on the yelp page and their website that there is not a lounge. Pictures and reviews make it appear that there is. So yeah. Small shop, hipster heaven. Looks like they might have okay selection. But, they aren't letting anyone far enough in the store to make an affirmative assessment. My husband enjoyed a My Father Anniversary series here while we visited in Salt Lake City. Very helpful staff and very knowledgeable. There is a private smoking room in the back.
