Gift bags filled with scented candles and handmade soap! Buy local

Jillian one of the co-founders of BeeKind greeted me as soon as I walked into her cute shop. I was on a mission to buy some special gifts for administrative assistants day next week. Jillian helped me pick out wonderful candle scents and handmade soap for the assistants in our office. They are great individuals who often go unrecognized and under appreciated. If you are seeking a way to celebrate the important people in your life you will find many ways to celebrate them at BeeKind. Buy local and support locally owned businesses!

My favorite scent, a blood orange candle, on my nightstand.

Lots of local merchanduse to choose from in this cute little boutique. The main menu is candles, candles, candles. Great scents, several choices of size and container. Plus lots of "green theme" items. A wonderful spot to shop for holiday, birthday and just because gift items!

What a cute small shop! I came to get a gift for my sister and walked out with a lot of gifts for myself.... Oops! A small shop filled with great things! Candles, cups, decorations, cards, jewelry... great place to get anything and everything!

A gorgeous little shop right next to Recess coffee in Tippery Hill, Beekind specializes in sustainable and local gifts, particularly their 100% soy wax melts and candles. I previously brought home the Peach Bellini candle and not only does it smell AMAZING, but it lasts so long! If you bring back your finished candle jar they will also give you 10% off your purchase, which is a great incentive for sustainability. They also offer items like a rechargeable lighter, which I'm in LOVE with since it reduces the waste associated with candles (plastic lighters, lighter fluid, matches, etc.). Aside from candles, you can also find various pillows, throws, kitchen utensils, bath bombs, plant accessories, jewelry, and locally made treats... for both humans and pets alike and most are locally sourced brands (e.g., 210 Teas, Syracuse Soapworks, etc.)! This is a great place for gifts, and they even offer recycled wrapping paper! The most charming part of the store, in my opinion, is their variety of bee-themed items. The bee pattern they use on their fabric items is super cute but they also have items like decorative metal bee-shaped wall hooks and, of course, honey. Their wax melts are in honeycomb shapes, as well! If you like to decorate for the holidays, you're in luck, because this shop also offers rotating sustainable seasonal items! Last time I visited, they had picks for Easter, which included items such as painted wooden eggs and ceramic egg trays. Currently they have a gift set for Mother's Day which includes sustainable self-care items from several local brands. Every time I come in there's something new and different! Now my new routine every time I visit Syracuse is to stop by Beekind and grab a latte from Recess next door. One of my favorite places in Syracuse!

    A bunch of goodies:)

If you are looking for some great candles this place is for you. You will find something you like. If candles aren't for you they have a lot of different items. Soap, Salsas, teas, and facial creams. Definitely have to come check out.

Every order has been perfect! I'm always so excited to check out what's new and buy seasonal scents, both in wax melts and candles.

The shop is small, but it is decorated so cutely! Seriously stylish aesthetics. I especially love their flower wall, which they said they made themselves. There is a good selection of candles, many of which have sassy names like Cereal-ously Delicious and That's What She Said. I went with one called Momma's Kitchen, which smelled like warm cinnamon cookies. Candles were a bit on the pricey side compared to some other local makers, however I don't mind spending to support local for special occasions that require gifts every now and then. The staff was also very kind. Admittedly, a bit out of my range to buy regularly but a fine occasional splurge.

If you're looking for something other than the overly chemically scented, and often nauseating, fragrance from the shopping mall brands then this is the place for you. With tongue in cheek names like "Big D Energy" and "Material Girl" you're sure to find a scent that speaks to your personality. I purchased two large candles and some wax melts. The candles burn clean and even. And the scents are just divine! There's even a service to refill your glass once you're done with them! How cool is that?

I've seen DIY candle bars in other cities and was SO EXCITED to find out one had opened here!…read more This shop is located in the McCarthy Mercantile, underneath Wildflowers Armory. The shop itself is really cozy, with brick walls and shelves of candles and containers. Though small, it's tastefully decorated, and feels really chic. About 4 people can fit at the candle bar, though I'm told they might be able to accommodate more for special events/appointments. The process is super simple. First, pick out up to three scents. The owner helped me here by making suggestions based on the kind of scents I told her I liked. This was super helpful, because she suggested some I wouldn't have thought to try or pair. It was a little overwhelming because there were so many options, but I went with a combo of her recommendations and my kneejerk instincts. Eventually choose cabernet, cotton & linen, and English garden. Step two is to pick out the container. When I went, there were only two kinds of vessels, a dark or a light - though the owner mentioned possibly adding more options. Step three, the owner pours hot wax into the container, then fragrance, then sets a timer for a few minutes, and you stir until it stops. From there, your candle is finished, and just needs to set. This takes around 90 minutes, and you can either come back and get it the same day, or pick it up another day. Then, the owner wraps it up in a bag with super cute matches and a sticker, and it's super nice. This would make a really nice present, date night, girls night, etc. I had a lot of fun and I've been destressing with my candle all week. This was super fun and I definitely recommend checking it out if you want something different to do!

I am currently sitting awash in ancient incense and leather and I've never wanted my place to smell like anything more. There are some more standard candle vessels and some unique options, depending on when you stop in. I have two of the more standard vessels and think they're wonderful but someone I came in with took home a delightful soup bowl with a wooden wick that smells exactly as they wanted it to smell. If you stop in upstairs, you can also grab some reed diffusers and scents if you're not a candle person or just can't trust your cat with an open flame (I get it, mine can be a menace, too). I'm so picky about scent that I can't compare the pricing here to other places, as I don't usually find candles I'm willing to smell in my home long-term so to me, these are worth every penny.
