You go somewhere regularly. You have your drink poured by the time you get to the bar. You're in your "happy place." Your dog is living his best life, loving all the attention. One day, surprisingly, you hear rumblings about one of the owners being moderately homophobic. Noooo...that can't be true! They've always treated you kindly enough. Moving on... You spend $10 buying a tile to decorate that will get hung in the bathroom. Super gay, you paint the tile in the most rainbow fashion possible. Once you complete your tile & turn it in, the next time you come in, you're given your tile back with a note that's supposed to be from the owner, saying your tile has been ruined & they're "sorry". Amazingly...that note was written in handwriting that's not the owner but seems very similar to another bartender. If I'm wrong....please let me know. Do I get my money back? Do you ignore what happened? Do you ignore the amazingly strange occurrence re: perceived homophobic behavior? I tried to bring it up with the bartender on duty (& remedy the situation before coming to Facebook) and was told "NO WAY that could be true." This has gone from being one of my favorite places to something that brings me heartbreak At this point, it's 0/10 WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Came to Quartzite, for 3 days, to buy minerals for our geology department at Caltech. After about 3 hours of shopping I was hungry and walked into Beer Belly's. Live music was playing. After walking up to the bar I ordering a beer and walked over to buy some food. After looking over the menu I decided on the smoked pulled pork nachos. I found a seat under a tented area, waited for my food, and enjoyed the live music. The place was busy. My nachos were ready in about 10 minutes and they were great. The place is dog friendly. This place is such a quirky joint . Outdoors but with covered canopy areas and ample seating . Dog friendly but they gotta say on the ground . Live Music every day especially during winter " snowbird season. They have a food trailer on site that fixes affordable pub snacks . This is a handy spot to grab a beer after a busy day at the rock and mineral show in Tyson Wells. Casual outdoor venue- get your beer up at the bar and find a place to sit. We went a couple of times late afternoon, and each time there was live music and dancing, which was nice to see. Pretty good selection of beer and wine too, as well as some other options. Its a pro-Trump environment, so if you don't agree with the politics you may not like this place. read more

Fun place, find it somewhere in the flea market. We are here on a weekday in December- so it's slow. Nice to have a place to sit down and enjoy live music; the singer had a great voice. We enjoyed the country tunes and a few other people at the bar and some at the tables carried on and clapped. Low key place. Bar has all kinds of drinks (mixed and sodas) . Everyone is relaxed, enjoying the sun, enclosed by screens so no dusty- winds. Bathrooms available. Food truck with the standard fair and a sense of humor. read more

All kinds of ATVs and people having a great time. If a band plays a patriotic tune, the entire place stands up, salutes, covers their hearts and sings along. This place is like an oasis in the middle of the desert surrounded with nothing but ATV's and motorhomes. This is mecca for the snowbirds coming to Quartzsite from abroad to defrost and get some dessert warmth. I'm giving Beer Bellys 4 stars for the ambience and their prices. It feels like your sitting beach side at a baja bar. The one man country band with his background soundtrack playing Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and the likes was spot on. I'm sure my beers made it sound even better. I was just starting to have a good time but unfortunately, they close early at 6pm. The crowd is primarily retirees 70+ but not stuffy. We have been to Beer Belly's several times while in Quartzsite for the winter. You can clearly tell this is a snowbird's local place. The first time we went the bartender was very rude when asked a simple question about food. She pointed her finger in the direction of the food truck and with a crappy attitude told me I needed to go there. As I stated, it was my first time so I didnt know. She poured my beer, I paid and she walked away. Not even a "have a good time", nothing. I went back about a week later, thinking she may have been having a bad day. Apparently they have a bad day every day. Different bar tender, same crappy attitude. I had some friends in town a few days ago. They wanted to go there, reluctantly I agreed. I went to the bar to get our drinks. They have two sections of the bar that you walk up to order at. As I walked up to the order location there were several people standing there with drinks and were talking among themselves so I walked over a foot or two to an open section where no one was sitting at the bar. The bartender told me she wouldnt serve me where I was at, that I had to go to the "service" section of the bar. When I pointed out there were people standing there she told me I would have to wait. I walked to the other end of the bar to the other service location, had to wait for people standing there to move also. After a few moments the people moved away and I was able to order. I got our drinks, went back to our table. My friends asked what happened. When I told them, we decided to leave after we finshed our drinks. No one on the staff is smiling. You are not greeted with a smile or a nice comment. Maybe they feel they can have a crappy attitude because there are few bars within Quartzsite. I was not a paying customer, I was treated as a nuisance. read more

This review is more for ownership or management to understand what morons you have as employees behind the bar and in the food truck. Good thing I'm not an attorney. I doubt it will stop anyone else from visiting but this story needs to be shared. My wife, dog and I had been to Belly's several times for the venue. Dog friendly, outdoor patio, usually good music. Today was no exception. We had a couple of beers, bought T shirts from the excellent band, had onion rings and enjoyed the weather. We are fairly decent tippers too. Here is where it turns ugly. I go to the bathroom (in the urinal in the Men's room) then walk to the bar. The idiot in the kitchen walks up to me and says I can't order another beer because I can't hold my liquor. I ask him what he is talking about and he tells me he saw me urinate behind their sign and not go into the bathroom. I was completely stunned and had no idea what he was talking about. He and the bar tender get in my face and tell my I'm lying about using the urinal in the restroom and I was seen urinating outside, behind their sign. When confronted, the "witness" told them it wasn't me. The kitchen idiot hadn't really seen who it was and lied to the bar tender. I barely got an apology and they didn't seem to understand why I was so angry about being accused of public urination when they really had no idea who it was. We, of course, left immediately. We gave the T shirts back to the band. It had nothing to do with them but didn't want anything to remind us of this awful day. If you go to Beer Belly's and if you need to "go" make sure you take a picture in the bathroom so you can prove to the idiots who work there that you didn't urinate behind their sign. BTW, above the urinal is a dimensional frame with glass, behind which is a small jar of petroleum jelly with a small crowbar with a sign that says "If stuck, break glass." This is just in case the idiots there still think I didn't use the Men's room. Finally, the guy in the kitchen who accused me of public urination used the bathroom, didn't wash his hands and was handling food without gloves. I know this because I saw him just as he saw me behind the sign urinating. read more

Sitting here drinking at the old mans bar waiting for their turn to die. Nice owner operators who serve the beer. Bottle and draught. Outdoors with a good size patio. Many days live music. Average beer bar prices and a little slop chute run by sweet girls offering a few good food items at good prices. Shopworn outdoor atmosphere but always clean. Some smoking tables. Like any bar they do have their fair share of assholes so beware who you befriend. Trouble does erupt with those old bastards when you least expect it. Parking can be tricky in January as the town fills up with visitors. Open daily noon to six depending on weather. Sometimes stay open a little later but not often and grudgingly.
