Omg American have nothing on burgers. This place is wonderful! The staff speak good English and the menus are also in English. The food is phenomenal. The town is neat to see and be within the walls so the seating can be outside as well as inside. Love to people watch and eat great food? This is the place. We have the cacioburger which is homemade mayo, burger, bacon, arugula on a bun. Yummy! The fries are also delish.

Fantastic burgers and the chips are to die for. Service was terrific and reasonable prices.

Great burgers and beer! They don't speak much English here, but they're very kind when you try your best to communicate in Italian (which I'm awful at, but refused to give up trying). They were having an African meal night when my friend and I visited last week, and all of those dishes looked and smelled amazing. I had the burger sampler plate, because I couldn't make a decision, and I'm so glad I got the samplers because every single burger was amazing in its own way. I'll be back here on my next trip to Cortona for sure!

It was the perfect place for my slightly homesick grandchildren. Everything they wanted with a distinctly Cortona flair.

The white table clothes the amazing staff with great recommendations. Although to be honest. I don't think they can make a mistake. The food was absolutely delicious, with just the right size portions. We went for it with antipasto, primi's , Secondi's and dessert. Everything was spot on. A must try is the steak with leek sauce and the pasta with beef sauce...fantastic and of course the wine pairings were exceptional...I asked the waiter to pair for me and it did not disappoint. If I could give more stars I would!

Our server told us that this previously a cave. How often do you get to dine in a cave? The inside of the restaurant is of this stone like space. We were immediately captivated. While it does not currently have a Michelin rating, we were told it previously had a Micheline rating. The atmosphere is that of a cave...cool, a little damp, and intimate. San Guiseppe has wine cellar, according to staff, date back. We felt totally and complete immersed in history and that was only the building. centuries of Sienese life. The cuisine honors Tuscan tradition while elevating it through precision and care. Each dish showcases excellent ingredients and confident execution, embracing regional flavors rather than reinventing them. San Guissppe feature traditional dishes such as handmade pasta, rich sauces, and tenders meats showcasing distinct flavors with bold seasoning. We order lasaguna and cheese salad...absolutely superb! La Taverna di San Giuseppe has s long-term Michelin recognition for a reason...superior food and excellent service in a very unique space. We savored every bite and sip we consumed in San Giuseppe. We ended up here by mistake (confused it with another spot), and unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant fills up with reservations for two seatings, and from the moment we sat down the pace felt rushed. We ordered drinks and a starter while deciding on the rest, but multiple staff members kept coming by trying to take our full order. It felt like they were pushing to move things along quickly. There were a couple positives. The chicken livers to start were quite tasty and something we didn't see often on other menus. The primi were underwhelming. The pasta didn't taste fresh like many other trattorias in Siena, and the dishes overall were just average. The lasagna in particular was mushy, and the sauces didn't stand out. The secondi were slightly better -- pork ribs, Barolo-braised beef, and a "small chicken" -- but still nothing that justified the higher prices. They do have an underground wine cellar built into a cave, which is interesting to see, but there are other places in Siena with much larger and more impressive cellar spaces. Also worth noting, they add a "10% tax" charge rather than the typical €2 coperto per person. Overall, a rushed and fairly mediocre meal at a higher price point. With so many better places to eat in Siena, this is one I'd skip.

I tried the NazionAle, a blonde ale, and the ColoniAle, an IPA. The NazionAle was easy drinking, what we would call a lawnmower beer in Florida, something for hot days, or socializing without getting messed up. The ColoniAle was a decent IPA, a little less hoppy than the typical IPA that I am used to drinking in the US. There is a full menu available, but we had already eaten earlier, so settled for fagioli cannellini alla'olio (cannellini beans in olive oil), and a pretzel (brezen) with nutella. The beans were good; the pretzel was seemingly stale, and a little tough to eat. The place is warm and intimate inside. There are some seats at the bar, but seating is typically at tables. Service was typical of what we have experienced in Italy, which is to say, not very attentive; I had to flag down a server to get a second beer. But, it is something I am used to having travelled to Europe several times.

The restaurant is quaint, charming, and cozy and located in quieter part of town. An expansive selection of craft brews as well as wines were offered. My wife and I ordered the insalata mistas, Ravioli di Pecorino Salvia, and the Pici Al Ragu. We were very pleased with our selections and the all the dishes met our satisfaction. The ravioli was served hot and fresh with a pecorino cheese, sage, and walnuts. A nice change, creative, and delicious. My Pici was al dente with a very tasty red duck sauce. Perfect combination of Ragu and pasta. The service was very good and friendly. The prices were reasonable. Overall, it was a very good dining experience and worth the visit.
