The classes are challenging but fun and engaging. I love the small group atmosphere and it's been fun getting to know other members and becoming a part of the community. The best part is that Ashely gets to know everyone personally and he will push you outside your comfort zone if he knows you are capable of more but will also give you modifications for any exercise that you need. I've lost weight, noticed my clothes fitting better and have gotten into a much better exercise and healthy eating routine. I've also gotten a lot stronger and built muscle which is something I struggled to do on my own. After a long day at work, I actually look forward to going to Core Cardio and working out. After giving birth to burrito last year Phil and I rediscovered our love for food on the Northshore. We realized we were eating out almost every day and decided to capitalize on it by documenting our meals and experiences. The more restaurants we visited and reviewed, the more we wanted to share with our friends and family. This quickly became part of our routine. After doing this for several months, I realized this was supper counterproductive to losing the baby weight and overall health. I started going for 30min walks every day, and when that became super boring, I signed up for planet fitness, and when that didn't yield any results, I started taking yoga classes sporadically. I wasn't able to keep up with any of these for one reason or another, so I decided to move on to something new. As our blog grew and the length of time I spent on Instagram increased, I started to notice this gym pop up on friends' pages or in my feed sometimes in other friends' stories. White wolf seemed to be sending me subliminal messages. I spent weeks creeping and basically stalking their content before I finally decided to DM Joe, the owner. He invited me in to do a 2-week, and the rest is history. Phil and I are still working out some kinks in our routine, and the struggle to attend classes consistently is still there. But there's nothing like taking one of Joe's classes. This gym is the embodiment of Cross training. And Joe always keeps it interesting. I have yet to be bored or come out of a class feeling like I wish I never came. What does happen is your motivation is ignited. I'm continually hearing other members talk about how much stronger they are since coming here or sharing words of encouragement to stick with it and be consistent results will occur. When something in your life is changing you for the better, I feel like you have to share it!

He really takes the time to get to know you, and creates a personalized training plan to catapult you toward your goals. As an engineer, I love how the system is structured such that your workout is quantifiable and it's easy to track progress. As a busy working human, I really feel like I'm maximizing my time and getting the best workout each hour-long session. I really like the concept of semi-personal training because let's be honest, you don't really need someone staring at you watching you do reps for 3600 seconds straight. Having a few other people there (up to 4 total per session) helps build a sense of community while still providing the attention and guidance you need. As someone who had been on and off the workout train for a bit, I've dealt with gymtimidation at a lot of other gyms, but not this one. The name rings true as this is definitely the most positive and friendly gym environment I've been in! I've never once felt judged here, not even for my weird taste in music. What I value about this personal training experience is that Rob is so encouraging, he makes you want to do better for yourself. I've hit a lot of personal records here, and I've lifted weights that I didn't think I could. At the same time, he will never make you do something that you're not comfortable with. If ever I feel like an exercise wasn't working my body quite right, Rob gives me pointers as to how to adjust the exercise to my body. He's also full of nutrition tips--a one-stop shop for holistic life advice! After just a couple weeks I feel much stronger than when I first started, and I'm equipped with new knowledge and exercises. Maybe most importantly, this experience gives me a new sense of (and appreciation for) discipline which is sure to help me maintain my forward momentum and reach my goals. There is a community here that I didn't know was possible to have at a gym. This place has strength training, weights, fitness classes, and some semi-private personal training. I have been super impressed with the owner, Rob. I have followed him here, after following him through multiple places he has worked at before opening up this place. Over the past 7 years, Rob has been the most dedicated trainer and human being I have ever met. From making me run with the treadmill OFF for 30sec intervals, to more Farmer's Walks than I thought were humanly possible, to getting me to the point where I could do more pull-ups than half the guys that walked by me(and yes, they were obviously unassisted). He made me realize that I was strong, and powerful, and he actually kept me motivated. I have completely fallen off my game the past 3 years, and I cannot wait to get back at it. When he opened this joint up-I RAN my butt in there...and you should too. I have limitations at the moment due to some spine stuff, but Rob is going to work with me as soon as I get restrictions from my PT's and doctors. He will meet you where you are at. If you want to go to a subpar gym and give yourself a pat on the back for going on the treadmill for 30min-be my guest-I've been that chick and it doesn't feel good. Not everyone can weigh 100 lb, and yet anyone who really wants to can become both strong and fit. What inspired me to join Crossfit was watching the transformation in people I knew who did it. One girl, after attending a competition in California, told me that she has never been so happy in her life. I see these women getting empowered, getting fit, and gaining confidence. I joined Crossfit in order to become strong. I would love to lose my belly fat. I would love to look like a model, but what I want even more is to have strength that I never had before. I want to be able to do a handstand push-up without falling on my head. I want to do a pull-up without any assistance for the first time in my life. I want to have control over my body and reach a new optimum level of fitness. Excellence knows no bounds. I believe that when I achieve physical excellence, that that same excellence will permeate all other aspects of my life.
