From the initial intake call, this has been an incredibly disappointing experience…read more I had a phone intake scheduled for 3:00 p.m. to discuss what I was looking for in counseling services. I arranged my work schedule so I could take the call, but no one ever called. When I contacted the office the following day, I was told the person assigned to my intake didn't have internet service and therefore couldn't complete the call. We rescheduled, and thankfully that conversation was quick and easy. When it came time for my first counseling session, I was asked if I could change my appointment time. At that point, I had already had such a poor experience that I was considering canceling altogether. I decided to give them another chance, and my first session actually went well. Today was my second session. I logged into the patient portal on time and waited for more than 20 minutes. I have proof that I was logged in because the portal recorded each time I entered the waiting room. When no one joined the session, I reached out to a staff member and also contacted the front desk. They told me they didn't have a direct way to reach my counselor but would send her an email. The next communication I received from Shield Bearer wasn't an apology or an explanation--it was a notice that my card would be charged because I supposedly "did not show up" for my appointment. That was devastating. I did everything I was supposed to do. I logged in on time, waited, contacted the office, and then followed up through both the patient portal and email. Instead of acknowledging what happened or attempting to resolve the issue, I was treated as though I had missed my appointment. Seeking counseling is already difficult enough. When someone reaches out for help, they deserve reliability, communication, and compassion. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Today's events left me in tears. If you're considering counseling services, I would encourage you to carefully consider whether this is the right provider for you.

The directors or heads of staff are committed to making a difference and continuously seek new ways and different methods to treat & help you. They are Christian based therapy center, but they don't push their faith on you. If you were looking for a therapist that really cares about helping you more than just asking you "how does that make you feel", I highly recommend Shield Bearers!

I was at Park Manor 2/13/25 - 2/17/25…read more I was getting great care and everything was going great until Monday, 2/17/25 at 9pm when I suddenly started having breathing problems and chest pain that was at a 10. I immediately hit the call button. After 10 minutes nobody came so I called 911. The nurse and someone came after seeing EMS headed towards my room. They quickly came in to my room saying they were trying to help me and I didn't need EMS. EMS told them to get out of their way and they were taking me to the hospital My husband later got a phone call and voicemail from someone named Mary asking that he call her back. Most 99% of the staff is great. People like Elizabeth, Linda, Ivory, Laurie,nurses Robert, Lillisette, Sarah, Mrs T & Tran, PT Director, Nicole, Emily, Melanie, Yvonne & Rhoda in PT

Jordan is the physical therapist on staff and I just can't say enough great things about her! She started working with my son when he was 1 year old and not able to even roll on his own. Now he is 2 and able to take steps while holding Jordan's hands! Even on days when my son is in a bad mood or is struggling due to his disability, Jordan encourages him and makes sure he gets the most out of a session. Both of my toddlers see Britnye for occupational therapy. Britnye has a fun and outgoing energy that draws my shy kids in and makes them want to engage with her. She has really helped my kids get over some of their nervousness and open up to new experiences!

I spoke with the owner, Amber Humphrey, and she suggested that we work with Norma. She was the perfect occupational therapist for my daughter. She understood the mental health issues my kid was dealing with and didn't make her feel "crazy." She taught her several coping skills that she has been able to use when feeling overwhelmed. Shelby was also so great when dealing with our hectic schedules and was always super friendly and ready to help. People often left the group crying. The price is high but they do take insurance plans. There was a patient in our IOP group sending inappropriate messages to participants and he was allowed to stay in the group despite disclosure. It was an all around bizarre experience that I truly regret.
