Behind the Bash did a celebration luncheon for us, food was super, staff did a great job of seeing everyone got food. The event was a great success, the attendees commented on how good the food was. This crew is awesome!!! I did a private party at my home. The staff was polite, clean, and kept the party going. If I ever need anything catered ever for as long as I live in and around Houston, I will be calling Jennifer. Every bite was a new little celebration in my mouth. The care given to the presentation and the perfect balance of flavors far surpassed my wildest expectations. It was so good, I was half-ready to send everyone home and just have some private time with me and my plate. AND she made it all happen on February 20, 2021 despite the historic winter storm that took out power and water across the state for almost the entire week before the event. She and her team worked so hard to make my wedding perfect and they 100% delivered everything I could have hoped for and more. Loved Behind the Bash. People came up to tell me the food was the best food at a wedding they've ever had. I picked a buffet plan that I wanted. Unfortunately, at the grand tasting, I had this delicious beef tenderloin that was a perfect medium rare. That meant I needed to go up a catering level..bummer. But when I mentioned it to Rachel at the final meeting a month before the wedding, she said I could get rid of a couple things, and add the tenderloin for the same price. I ended up adding another side for $2/pp. She also made one of the entrees into an appetizer for us!! It really was a dream menu for us. It had all of our favorite foods. I loved having a plate for me as soon as dinner time started, and our "to-go" boxes! We actually ate a second dinner when we got back to the room =) Great experience. Only negative is that they are a little slow on the email, but she usually got back to me in a few days. I know BtB caters places other than Briscoe Manor, so if you see them as your preferred vendor, BOOK IT! read more

Our guests talk about the delicious food, over a year later. We had our spring garden wedding at The Parador with coordination and catering from BTB. From appetizers to cake cutting, the timing was perfect. Mysti, Rebekah and the entire Behind the Bash staff were fantastic. They were flexible and responsive via phone and email up to and including the big day. Rebekah was our day-of coordinator - she was organized, focused, sweet and helpful throughout the entire planning process. We had our wedding about a month ago and everything about our wedding was amazing except Behind the Bash. I just want to start by saying we personally contacted Behind the Bash and now feel forced into writing a review because of how unprofessionally things were handled. We weren't looking for any kind of refund and got nothing but defensive responses and ultimately ignored. Hope this doesn't happen to any other couple that decides to go with them. Rachel, their coordinator, was great the day of but it seems that's the only time we mattered. Let's move onto the issues. During cocktail hour, half of our family were inside the chapel still taking pictures only to come out to no food even with 30 minutes left. We were told they only make 1.5 of each appetizer/person. More than half of the guest weren't at cocktail hour till 30 minutes after it started and they're claiming everything was eaten within 20-30 minutes? Our family members were also told more food was coming. They stood there waiting but nothing came out. During the dinner, a person at the head table did not get their plate and one of the groomsmen gave up his own to accommodate another guest. Our DJ was told to wait till after the guests have received their food but never received his plate. He asked multiple times and was told it would come later. The most alarming issue throughout the whole dinner was staff picking up plates too early. Guest would barely touch their plates and get up to go get a drink at the bar only to come back to their plates being cleaned away. We were told this is because they are trained to pick up the plates if their napkins are placed on top. Some people might of done this but not everyone. We had fireworks earlier then expect so people were about halfway through their dinner. Fireworks lasted about 5-10 minutes and you guessed it. Their plates were gone. The cake was served and picked up within minutes. They saw the cake being passed out as they headed to the bar but by the time they came back to their tables it was gone. People were asking for cake and were told there wasn't any more or to wait. BTB told us that cake is usually picked up 15 minutes before the event is over. Again, this was not the case. I'm not sure what went wrong that night with Behind the Bash and their staff as we've read nothing but great things. Their mac and cheese is delicious and their bar service was excellent. That being said, having my 90 year old uncle tell me the next day that he had to go find food after the wedding because they took his food too early is the last thing we wanted to hear, especially when we paid the price we did and the inclusion of the mandatory tip. If you make it mandatory, you better deliver. Behind the Bash did not deliver. If anything, they completely failed at every step of that dinner service. read more

Behind the Bash was awesome for my wedding in October 2011. Mysti was amazing for my wedding! She made sure everything went smoothly and she solved a lot of potential catastrophes too. For example, the bustier tie got ripped on my dress and she sewed it up. The zipper on my sister's dress broke and she fixed it!!! We had an influx of mosquitos and she made sure the place was fumigated and clean air by the time the ceremony began. Anyway, that makes my wedding sound like a disaster but actually, it was the DREAM I had envisioned for a year prior. The stunning venue blew everyone away, but most of all, everyone went insane for the food. I wasn't one of those brides who didn't eat that night either... we got champagne appetizers in the private suite right after the ceremony and oh, dear... steak tips with horseradish sauce (who likes horseradish sauce? that night, I DID!) and seared ahi tuna with mango corn sauce on a little plantain chip? I think I want to have another wedding just to eat that food again :) Anyway, don't hesitate when using Behind the Bash. They have reasonable prices and really make your event go perfectly, and everyone will eat like Kings. read more

The food was AMAZING!!! Everyone came up to us and told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Rachel was great and responded to all emails very quickly. Also, I have several family members with severe allergies. They were wonderful about it even hand delivering the special meals. There were only a few nit picky things that the we didn't really like: 1. We paid for tea and coffee to be served at the tables. It was put in the bar area. 2. We think that the buffet tables could have been decorated more. 3. The food tasted wonderful but it could have looked better. 4. And the buffet tables were not set up very efficiently. read more

Behind the Bash is AMAZING!! They were our caterer for our wedding, and everything was perfect from our coordinator, Kyle, to the food and how everything was run so smoothly. My husband and I were out of town for their tasting event at our venue early in our engagement, so they let us attend a tasting at a different venue. From that tasting, I knew we were in good hands food-wise. Everything tasted great, the food was hot, and most importantly, since the tasting event was for a couple hundred guests, I could see that they wouldn't have any problems catering for a large crowd. Their staff was also so friendly both at the tasting event and at our wedding. Kyle was the best day-of coordinator ever! She sent us a wedding "survey" and timeline to fill out at least 2 months before the wedding, and she was extremely organized and easy to reach throughout all the detailed planning in the few weeks before the big day. Having her in charge was a huge relief, and I honestly felt like I was able to enjoy the wedding day so much more knowing she was on top of everything. During the wedding ceremony and reception, she kept everything running smoothly and on time without being intrusive or demanding. She is truly fantastic. My husband and I first heard of Behind the Bash when they catered my brother's wedding in October 2015 at Briscoe Manor. We loved the BBQ they had and decided to have them cater our wedding at Pecan Springs. The food was fantastic! Definitely one of the high points to our wedding. Everything from the appetizers to the BBQ dinner to the service was perfect. We had beer battered asparagus, pork quesadillas, teriyaki chicken lollipops and Cajun grilled shrimp with risotto in mini mason jars as appetizers and each one was absolutely delicious! Rachel was a pleasure to work with and really knows what she is doing. All of her staff were on top of it all night, especially when we had to switch the ceremony and cocktail hour due to the rain. Rachel and her team was amazing!!! They do a complimentary tasting when you book at Briscoe Manor but I also wanted to try other items because you know, a girl just can't choose! They accommodated a private tasting for my fiancé, our parents, and I so we can try what we wanted and Rachel was truly so sweet to my parents. She also made sure to take down any food allergies and if we had any guests that needed to be served such as those in wheelchairs or walkers. During our finalization of the menu and guest count, people were rsvping late and she really didn't make me feel terrible for changing guest counts and the endless amount of emails because I am just do indecisive. She helped me make the best decisions as well. Also, they had our ceremony appetizers and beverages ready in the bridal suite so we didn't miss out on them! Get the LOBSTER ROLLS!!!! Well, everything was amazing. Our guests loved all the food from the wedding. We had crab cakes, southwestern egg rolls, and lobster rolls for cocktail and the beef tenderloin, chicken marsala, market vegetables, and truffle mash potatoes. Oh and the caesar salad! Rachel was also sweet enough to let me have whataburger delivered so that I can put my own personal stickers on them as well. :) Will post pictures once I get them back. I really can not say enough wonderful things about Behind the Bash. We had our wedding reception at The Parador and from our first visit to see The Parador, BTB was also there helping answer any questions. There were even times that they met with us very last minute! They have tons of options and seem like they can accommodate any price range. After our initial quote (so we could pay the deposit) they let us add and drop things that we had changed our mind on. They really spell everything out for you so you know exactly what you are paying for. You get invited to a tasting party (where there is also opportunity to meet other vendors) to try the food and its a really fun date night with your fiancé! Along with our open bar package, BTB made us the two different signature drinks that we requested. We told them our ideas and then they sent us the pricing (which was GREAT btw!) Then they served them how we requested (one in mason jars with custom straws, the other in a flute with gold sugar rim!) I was so excited that they could do this so easily for us. For the food, all the guests RAVED about it! They will serve the bride and groom even if you do buffet and I must tell you I ate everything on my plate! They also sent to go boxes home with my parents and the groom's parents which they loved late-night at the hotel! I have had several people tell me that was the best food they have had at a wedding, the beef (tenderloin carving station) was cooked perfectly, and someone told my mom that it didn't taste like "wedding food". Food is very important to my family and my groom and I, and we could not have been more pleased! We mostly worked with Christina and she went above and beyond her job (they all did at Parador at BTB!). She helped with all the decor and setting out items like favors, decor for the car, cocktail napkins, menus, etc... that we had brought in our selves. My mom was so grateful and amazed at how BTB helped her and the other vendors clean-up the things we brought in and load things in my mother's car. Rachel at Behind the Bash did our son's rehearsal dinner for 80- and an after party event the same weekend. The food was simply amazing! She goes above and beyond what we could have expected. We originally had a local caterer back out a few weeks before the wedding- we were in a panic. Rachel stepped up to the plate, calmed us down with her competency - took charge, put a wonderful meals together and handled so many details we had not thought of. Then, the following night we had a "hootenanny" party to entertain the 54 family members that flew in- plus a few friends- and everything went seamlessly wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend Rachel- our family and friends have been raving about how wonderful the food was. Rachel herself is a just a joyful, kind, and happy person to work with!
