(He literally spent about 30 seconds in the room with me, didn't even look at my feet whatsoever, and then stopped talking while rudely filling out a paper.) When communicating with them, they really hold their ground instead of being understanding and accommodating. Yes, I got my $50 co-pay back, but it was a struggle. I've also had experiences in the past where the person (lady, more heavyweight not sure of her name) who shows you to the room talked about her republican political beliefs and how "Covid was BS" and it's just overall inappropriate. Dr Stone scoffed at that diagnosis. He said all I needed were 700.00 orthotics that medicare doesnt cover and he assured me 80% of my pain would be gone. When they didnt work at all he just shrugged. He told me that was because he had never given it to me, I let him try 4 times in one foot to inject (he blamed his mis trys on my veins which no other Dr. had ever had a problem with) I left in more pain. I am actually not as upset that he couldnt take away the pain as I am with his boastful attititude that gave me such false hope in him. And now there is nothing more that he can offer me.

I became their patient more than a decade ago, when they were called "Your Medicos" at different location, and later on I brought several family members there, and I was sad to switch to a different doctor, who is a part of a larger Advocate Healthcare system with Patient Portal and centralized billing, who know all procedure codes, and it is very easy to communicate with them online in the Portal, unlike with BG Medical Center. Dr. Heggen is the best doctor I have ever met. He always listens and always discusses my tests with me and answers all my questions, and I have never met the general physician who knew so much about medicine. I especially appreciate that he does not pretend to be too important; he is down-to-Earth and very friendly with exceptional bedside manners. The office staff, Barno at the Front Desk and others, WERE very friendly and easy to work with, but, sadly, Barno is no longer there. The management, Yasser and Victoria, were always very friendly, but they and their off-site biller ALWAYS made billing errors (ALWAYS submitted wrong visit codes and descriptions to my insurance). I always gave them the printouts for the codes and procedure descriptions of my visits, but they (or biller) still always managed to submit the wrong codes and descriptions/names. Once they gave me their biller's contact, and I sent her all codes and screenshots, and she resubmitted the claim correctly, but it took me months of back-and-forth e-mails, and next time the story repeated, so I could not take it anymore. The biller said that it was the office who gave her the wrong codes (despite printouts I always gave them). I was sad and reluctant to leave, but... I was happy with my new doctor at Advocate and their billing - it was easy!
