Dr will call you in at the appointment time and ask you to be changed into a gown before starting treatment. Sessions are usually 1-1.5 hours, booked a day or so in advance. I went in for pain management and tension in my cervical spine. Dr. Chen and Dr. Liu were extremely kind and knowledgeable, using acupuncture and acupressure techniques to help me. I felt an immense difference after just the first session! I continued seeing them (currently on my 4th session) throughout the month and have found the treatment very effective. While I respect Dr Ye's experience and knowledge, she was rather short and abrupt with answering questions. The Chinese massage "tui-na" that was included in the service was good, but not deep tissue effective. This was practically the whole dealbreaker during the accupuncture session. Just to let you know I'm a white female, and this place has about 99.5% (or more) chinese clientele. Someone answered the phone who could barely speak english, and then the phone was transferred to someone who did. It smells of chinese herbs when you walk in, and is very cluttered because the space is so tiny. The rate was very low for 1 hour of massage--and I called a few places that were rude and insisted I needed BOTH acupuncture and Tui Na treatments and for more money. I've had a huge painful knot in my shoulder (that was now affecting my arm too!) that just acupuncture would not get out--and it needed immediate work. The building, paint and furnishings are older, so if you are looking for a 'plush' experience...this isn't the place. It is very plain and to the point. You pay first, and are shown a room with a robe. Everything is clean--but nothing fancy; no mood music, candles, or dim lights. Chinese massage stimulates your chi and works on your meridians. You are also going to be stretched, kneeded and it is going to hurt if you are not flexible and your meridians are choked up. If you are thinking sweedish massage, this isn't that at all. My technician arrived with a herbal bag warmed in the microwave which went on my lower back. They ask where your issue (s) are, then get to work. I had hour massage (non sexual of course). I'm stating this just in case someone thinks otherwise! Anne was young and quite good. She actually got up on the table like a thai massage and was strong. Unfortunately for me, I've left this knot go for well over 2 months, and it is going to take some doing to get it all the way out. I thought the massage was quite good and tipped well. I will be back and told them I'd Yelp them. Another asian man was there grabbing cards for friends. Says he's been going there years and highly recommends the place. I will go back...as it is quite reasonable, close to home, and I got exactly what I wanted. Again, this is chinese style and the offices are very tiny, older and nothing special. Besides, you have your eyes closed getting your treatments...so you don't need to look at painted walls with art.
