Utterly disappointing with Beka Property Management, applied for a rental home asking for $825 a month and I gave all my information for the application. I was charged $120 for the application and denied due to being Self - Employed and thus not having any wages that could potentially be garnished or so explained the "Owner" Van Mamula. My conversation with him was somewhat pleasant until he mentioned that ultimately it came down to his decision on renting my family the home and that he did not want to rent to a person who was self employed, this is acceptable and I understood completely what he explained to me. What did shock me was that one of his agent's a Kathleen Cracraft, had assured & guaranteed that the house was mine to rent. She never returned calls, insisted that the owners of the home were out of tow so she had to check with them and much more b/s that told me that she had a problem with me or my family living there. She had told me that this application was more of a formality but that she would hand us the keys to the home "On Monday" so we could move in. This was on a Thursday so I thought "hey atleast that's out of the way," but I was wrong, I called the agent Kathleen Cracraft on Monday November 10th and she told me that I had to call her boss Van Mamula for information on the application, this seemed odd since I had already given her a deposit for the home and she had assured me that we would have the keys to the house on Monday afternoon. After receiving the news she had nothing to tell me but sorry. The reason for this review was to highlight the more negative part of this experience with Beka Property Management and its agent Kathleen Cracraft. When she showed my family the home she initially wanted to know if we were of Hispanic descent and what would occur when we were pulled over driving without a valid license (referring to my family living illegally in the USA thus not having a valid drivers license). From what I recall the exact words were "What happens to you people when you get pulled over?". Im not sure what this meant, or exactly what she was thinking of when she asked this question but my wife and I were both born in the United States and as a newlywed couple we were looking for a place to rent closer to my family. I certainly do not tolerate racism or any sort of discrimination and I am glad that we are going with another company that follows the Fair Housing Act of 1968 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin. read more

I have leased a privately owned condo from BEKA Mgmt. for 5 years in Plymouth, when my lease was up and I had to move I was not happy with the thought I would have someone else for a landlord, Amazingly, BEKA Mgmt. had just received a rental property in Walled Lake that was available, I went for a showing and I not only was very happy that BEKA Mgmt, would be my landlord AGAIN, but to ensure my future I took out a 4 YEAR LEASE with BEKA because from my past experience with Property Mgmt. companies. BEKA was the most professional, courteous, get the job done management company I have ever had the pleasure of being a tenant to. From Lori the Office Mgr. to Kathleen the realtor I was always treated with respect and what I requested was taken care of right away. Another added plus was Van Mamula the owner was NEVER too busy to take my call. I would highly recommended BEKA Mgmt. to anyone looking for a rental property or if you can't or choose not to sell your home or condo your first choice to manage and take care of your property should be BEKA Mgmt. After paying the scam application fee, I received an email asking for "proof of income and a rental ledger"; owing to the fact that "proof of income" can include several types of evidence (e.g., pay stub, 1099, suitcase full of unmarked nonsequential bills, etc.), I called Kathy to inquire as to which manner of "proof of income" she would prefer... After asking "what exactly would you like me to send," Kathy replied loudly and condescendingly "proof of income, and rental ledger," as if the problem was I couldn't read her email, or understand the concept. Why do professional-middleman companies like this still exist in the modern era? They are a bane on society. read more
