We were blown away by the experience and feel it was well worth the money. The experience flowed well and was well organized. The ATV's were fun and lasted about 20-25 minutes each way. The tour of the monkey sanctuary was my favorite part of the day. Our guide Miguel was very knowledgable and told all of the rescue stories. The monkeys also looked very comfortable and at home, often responding to the guide and coming close to greet us. They looked well cared for. We got the opporunity to hold snakes, parrots, and best of all a gorgeous little monkey name Thomasina. Being in the enclosure with Thomasina you are required to remove all jewelry, glasses, and anything shiny. You sit in rows and the instructor guides the monkey to go on everyones shoulders and laps. You are not allowed to touch or grab her. All of the experiences are photographed and you are able to buy your photos at the end.

My favorite things here was looking at all the different birds, observing the wildlife, and sitting by the ocean. It was so beautiful everywhere you went! We also saw so many wild lemurs here throughout the park which was cool. However, since the park was so big, we ended up spending a lot of time walking to each experience. Overall, I would recommend this park since there are so many things to do!

There is SO much to do that you genuinely can't fit it all in one day--underground rivers, beaches, snorkeling spots, wildlife exhibits, and cultural experiences throughout the park. Everything is beautifully maintained, super clean, and very well organized. The staff was helpful from start to finish, and the whole place felt safe and easy to navigate. Food options were plentiful with something for everyone, and it was a huge plus that meals were included. There's also plenty of parking (we didn't have to pay), which made getting there stress-free. A few helpful tips: * Bring water shoes - you'll thank yourself in the rivers * Bring a waterproof phone pouch - must-have for photos * You'll need to sign a waiver at the start * You'll receive a wristband + locker key with a chip (included, no extra charge--just don't lose it!) * There are plenty of showers and changing areas, plus parking within the park Be prepared--there is a LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself. Overall, this place is a must-do if you're visiting Mexico. It's the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and culture all in one unforgettable experience.

Visited this facility on a cruise ship excursion. They offer dolphin, manatee, and sea lion…read moreencounters. I did the manatee and sea lion encounters and found the experience absolutely amazing. I was hesitant to go because I know that many companies like this aren't very humane to the animals. After visiting, I can't speak credibly about how this specific company is with the animals. However, I was happy to see that the dolphins and manatees were in large ocean-based pens. Also, the first manatees my group got in the water with weren't in the mood to interact. The tour operator moved our group to different manatees- definitely the right move to not force them. Some of the things I did in addition to the animal encounters were, 1- watch the sea lion show, 2-swim in their pool, 3- eat at the Dolphin View restaurant. All three of those were solid. In particular, hopping in the pool after visiting the sea lion habitat which didn't feel super clean (but was probably appropriate for the animals). The food at Dolphin View was good. Not mind blowing, but was included in the tour and included margaritas (yum!). There is a rental fee for lockers and the experience/cost of buying photos is horrible (as I anticipated). The photo packages are exorbitantly priced. However, they are somewhat negotiable if you begin to walk away. You aren't allowed to take your own photos. So, be ready to pay if you want them! Also, bring sandals or water shoes if you are visiting with dolphins or manatees. The ground is hot and the deck is splintery. Also, it is a long walk and you can leave your sandals on the dock. The ocean based in-water landing is slick, mossy, and is rough on your feet. So, water shoes are a great move if you want extra protection. Overall, I liked my visit and will cherish getting to interact with the animals. The interactions were long and there were multiple photo ops with the animals. I mean- who doesn't want a manatee kiss?! I had fun.

Once we arrived at the port, we were placed in a taxi to Chankanaab. When we got there, our tour guide walked us through what to expect, and we all changed into our swimwear. They had lockers available for use, for free! We met manatees Angel and Josie, they were so gentle and sweet. We even got to feed them lettuce, which was such a fun moment for my kids. Two years ago, we did a different excursion with dolphins and my daughter was terrified of the splashing. This one felt way more kid friendly and calm. I definitely recommend it for families with younger kids, especially if they don't like salt water splashing all over them. The excursion also included access to the pool, unlimited food and drinks, and snorkeling. You do need to rent gear if you didn't bring your own. The line for food was long and no wet clothes were allowed inside. I had to get in line multiple times to bring food for my family. The service was amazing though. Israel kept our drinks coming. Overall, it was a great day and a much better experience than the one we had before.

It was ok overall, but not something I'd ever pay for again…read more It was around $360 for 2 people (4 person tour size) which included the dolphin leg push. Taxi to the destination was separate and $15 each. When you arrive, they have you watch 5-10 minutes of safety + general environmental awareness videos before putting on life vests. Then you walk to the pool and get into the water. There is a guide and photographer with you the entire time, and closely guides the dolphins on what to do. Dolphins did some cool stuff - flips, leg push, got to touch them, but nothing crazy and wasn't as personal as I expected even in a small group of 2-4. After the dolphin visit (around 45 min - 1 hour) then comes pictures. They take you to a room and try to convince you to pay $210 USD for 10 pics, and the packages get more expensive from there. I personally did not want to buy the pics, and felt pretty harassed about this. Would rather just leave after the visit next time. Not sure if I'd recommend. It was cool to do once, but definitely pricey and probably better places you could go.

Awful. So regret not going with Dolphin Discovery. We loved our Dolphin Discovery experience some…read moreyears back but they were closed on the day we could go. Delphinus clearly has connections so they are attached to Xplor Xelha mega company and other locations. This was a terrible experience and to total rip off for the money. Delphinus said small groups but they meant a mega group split up into 8 groups that took forever with 2 smaller, older dolphins. They kept repeating simple exercises to stall for time. We paid extra for the superman push and the dolphins fail to push kids out of the water properly (not even past the waist) To be fair, the dolphins weren't given enough swim distance to get the momentum needed but we really had to question how small and old these dolphins are that the same 2 dolphins were performing these activities for a huge group. Then at the end, they added some weird and unnecessary snorkel with the dolphin. You can get the same experience in a smaller group, better run and actually get pushed out of the water during the superman push at Dolphin Discovery. The photos are super expensive but they are no matter where you go. Delphinus does not offer the additional video though. We added the additional cost of transport. It takes about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. We had a 10am reservation so they picked us up at 8:50am at a nearby location. On the transport back, they combined us with a group that clearly stayed for another experience so we sat waiting 20 minutes for them in a non air conditioned area with nothing to do and no food or water. Then to add to the wait, we dropped them off first at playacar - I'm sure they were happy. So this added another 10 minutes for a total of 1h 40m (11:20am-12:40pm) for what should have been a 30m transport. We were hot, bored and very hungry - we thought this just added to the stinky experience. To finally being dropped off at 12:40pm. The driver wouldn't even let us off a few blocks earlier with some nonsense about being tracked, like that was our problem. After multiple complaints and getting re-directed, a month later they refunded the transport.

It honestly was not as big of a wow factor as I had hoped…read more... Our tour guide for the cave was subpar at best! He did a very bad job at sharing the ecological (and anthropological) history of the area He did a bad job answering questions... We were rushed through the cave ........ It is a beautiful cave though, especially the part where you walk over the water over the bridge ((but definitely should not be a top 10 National Geographic cave walk!!!..?!!! I have seen much cooler caves!...) The animal park is very fun. They take nice care of the animals and they actually have a great variety. My two-year-old had a great time with the animals. The cenote Was ***extremely busy !...... full of loud obnoxious tour groups who completely ruined the whole vibe There are catfish in the water that do not bite The cenote is small. The water is crystal clear! It is very fun to explore! Bring a mouth piece for the snorkel, as they do not provide those (the thing that enables you to breathe while you are under water) The water is FREEZING cold Even colder than they advertise There are no wet suits We went Thursday at 1 pm for the cave, and 3pm for the cenote, so I was not expecting it to be busy..... The cenote is 10 minutes away from the cave ( you have to drive there) Aktun Chen is about 20 minutes down a dirt road- once you exit the highway, there are signs saying you are heading the right way to the cave/cenote, but I kept doubting myself.. as the dirt road feels very remote Glad I went, but honestly would not go back again... PS- they say no sunscreen to protect the cenote, but allow bug repellent lololol -- do you know how much more toxic bug repellent is than sunscreen?? Hire better staff, and I will feel inclined to give a better review It felt like a cattle corral ..... did not feel genuinely cared for ((or that the staff genuinely cares for the environment!..!.!.!)

The ziplining was 10 ziplines, and the tour guides were fun and allow you to go upside down or 2 people at once on some of them. Make sure to bring money to tip the tour guides! The cave tour was the weakest section but I admit I did learn a bunch of interesting geological sorts of stuff. The cave actually gets a bit muggy and so the cenote was a great way to finish the day and cool off. They have you do a very brief "tour" in the cenote and then we were given about 30 min of free, unsupervised play time there. The water is clear, cool, clean and you adjust very quickly to the temperature. The lighting and colors were MAGICAL and the kids loved swimming amongst catfish. Water shoes were perfect for the whole day. You get a locker at each site. Towels and change of clothes are handy at the end of the day- don't forget those! And keep in mind that getting to the front entrance of Aktun Chen is not the same as getting to the actual reception area - it's ~ 3.5 km down a windy dirt road. Something to consider if you get motion sick easily, or something to consider if you rent a tiny car that might have difficulty on dirt roads.
