She is one of the kindest soul and has a genuine motivation to heal the world from traumatic experiences with compassion. I've been on a journey to heal for almost 10 years. I mainly have physical symptoms: difficulty in breathing, feeling cold all the time, my body is always holding tension (to the point that my massage therapists wonder what the heck is wrong with me). I've tried many modalities: acupuncture, Reiki, QiQong, Rolfing, sound baths, and Somatic Experiencing. I feel that each modality is helpful in different respects. Nonetheless, I was starting to plateau in my progress and was in a cyclic pattern of feeling physically better after a session in one of the aforementioned modalities, but my body would tense up again in a few days. Needless to say, this cyclic pattern is frustrating and I really can't afford to keep all these treatments up for the rest of my life. I was driving one day and I came upon a fork in the road that I couldn't remember which lane to take. This happens to me all the time. I found myself venting out of frustration and said to myself, it is like as if I trained myself to forget during times of distress!! ...and then a light bulb went on! I probably did subconsciously train myself to do exact that during my childhood. I wanted to retrain how my brain works and it seemed perfectly logical to seek out hypnotherapy. It turns out that hypnothesis has helped me released a lot of the recurring physical tension in my body. I've considered many incidents to be resolved or forgiven. Apparently, the residual physical reactions that take place during the stressful times is not always cognitive and can be rooted in the more primitive structures of our nervous system. (Yeah, i didn't know that either! I learned it from Somatic Experiencing.) So, this is one of my aha moments: this is why my body is always tense, because I am always subconsciously bracing for the next trauma, even though I am consciously going about my day like nothing is really stressful. I expected mental/emotional changes with hypnosis, but it has actually brought on a kind of healing that is surprisingly physical. I can feel my body heating up in specific regions during the session; I am progressively feeling warmer, can breathe a little easier and holding less tension in my body. Stephanie is very intuitive, intelligent, and knowledge. She is creative in helping me overcome hurdles in my recovery. Most importantly, I feel safe and at peace with Stephanie.
