My boyfriend booked a 90-minute reiki session for himself & I for my birthday. Meeting her right off the bat I could already tell she was a lovely & genuine soul with a beautiful aura. During my consultation, she first asked me to give her a little background on myself & what I've been through in life in order to get an idea of what I might need healing. She provided a safe space for me & I felt comfortable sharing with her intimate parts of my life, I even cried a little bit before the healing began. Afterwards, she began the reiki healing & placed several crystals on the energy centers of each of my chakras. I felt so relaxed & at ease throughout the healing and almost felt like I had entered a different time & space at some point. At the end, she explained to me which of my chakras were closed & how she had reopened them & encouraged me to work on them to keep them open. I felt so relaxed, aligned, & at peace with myself & my life. I felt like all of my worries, if any, I believed everything would be okay & work out. My boyfriend felt the same exact way. After dealing with a few obstacles as a result of the pandemic, I felt a strong desire to seek some sort of spiritual guidance, but I wasn't quite sure in what form. Growing up in Los Angeles, I'd always heard of reiki and the idea of cleansing one's energy, and so this particular notion seemed the most relevant. Through a bit of research, I found Alicia, who immediately seemed like a perfect match, as we shared a lot of the same interests and coincidentally went to the same university. As I approached my first reiki session, I sort of had an idea of what could be blocked in my life, but I didn't quite articulate that to Alicia. Coincidentally, at the end of the session, Alicia verbalized those exact energy points that I had internalized to be bothering me- it was ironic that she could sense what was wrong without directly hearing it from me. In my opinion, that is the testament of a good healer, i.e. someone that can identify a problem that may not be on the surface. Although I didn't feel an immediate change after our session, my body ached on the following days, which is something Alicia said could happen. After about a week, I felt a lot more open, and in particular, the things that were bothering me that pertained to specific chakras, they went away. There certainly was a distinction from just one session that I thought was powerful and effective. I had came to Alicia for my very first Reiki experience for a number of reasons. I had physical pain and tension in my shoulders and neck area. I also had a recent physical injury on my right foot that made it extremely uncomfortable to work and be mobile. Aside from that, I also needed this experience for my mental health as well. I swear, I was being "attacked" by something. I'm not sure what it was, I'm not going to jump to conclusions and say they were "demons" or "spirits", but it was definitely some negative energy, and it definitely felt like it was coming from an intelligent source; not just happenstance. I had heard vague things about Reiki healing before (here & there), and I was rather skeptical about how effective it could be, but I understood it's cause and never dismissed it as anything less than practical. I had already known Alicia as a friend, and found her to be one of the kindest, most remarkable people- to begin with- I've ever encountered!... SO, when she told me about her Reiki healing service, my curiosity was [needless to say]: piqued! The session itself was very comfortable (along the lines of getting a massage or getting ready to speak with a friend in the comfort of your own home), and somewhat surreal at the same time (almost like witnessing a supernatural occurrence). I have heard about reiki and the many benefits of it but I never went out of my way to learn more about it. I came across Alicia because I was in major help with my chakras and overall health. At our first session, Alicia explained the art of reiki and how it helps you balance your chakras while relaxing your body. During the session, I honestly felt my body realigning and felt it more in the parts of my body that needed to be taken care of. She helped me with my anxiety and helped me open up my throat chakra and solar plexus. Solar plexus is linked to anxiety and thus gave me more calmness in my typical life.
