I usually wait to buy my supplies before winter hits. I have a very hard time finding the Chinese sausage the Kam Yen Jan brand, not sure why it's hit and miss at stores, but it is, not sure if it just not popular in the east coast as much as it is in the west coast where I could buy it at any Asian market. Thought and suggestions on where I could purchase, would be greatly appreciated, because when I do find it, I usually buy about 10 packages. Super nice staff, the hot food section was a nice surprise. Produce area was clean and I didn't have a problem navigating the aisles for what I wanted.

I found a wide variety of fresh produce, including unique Asian vegetables and fruits. The quality of the produce and other products was excellent. Everything looked fresh and well-maintained. You can see employees prepping and bagging/wrapping fresh produce. The meat and seafood counters were well-stocked. There was also a traditional chinese BBQ counter with things like Char Siu and crispy roasted pork which was a great and welcomed suprise to me. The aisles were filled with a good range of spices, sauces, noodles, and other pantry staples from different asian cultures that I stocked up on. You can tell the store was a little older and gives your traditional Asian supermarket vibes so if that holds you back, I would say give them a chance anyway as it is clean, well-organized, and reminds me of my childhood stores. I found the prices to be very competitive.

There is also a 2-seat table near the back as well. A mounted TV sits above the middle table and right below it is a small wooden panel that has the shape of a mermaid carved into it. The ordering counter is off to the side and has an adjoining display case that holds soda cans, condiments, bottled water, and a couple of bags of lettuce. We ordered the following: Crab cake platter. These were 2 jumbo lump crab cakes and the order came with fries. Daughter ate almost all of the fries. I had to fight her for it. LOL. This order was delicious and freshly made. Tuna tataki, which is seared rare tuna with pepper crust, ginger and soy sauce. Daughter liked this a lot. This was a nice presentation which made us wonder if the chef worked at a 5 star dining restaurant instead of a shack. Surprise, surprise! A lot better than we expected. Pint of New England clam chowder, which has clams, bacon and potatoes. Daughter loved it and thought it was delicious. Hubs said that he usually prefers the Manhattan clam chowder but he loved this a lot. He loved that he was able to munch on clams at every spoonful and that it wasn't too thick for him. Manhattan clam chowder wasn't available when we were there. Hopefully, they'll have it the next time we return. Sirens House Salad, which has spring mix, tomatoes, bell peppers, red onions, carrots, parmesan and croutons. The dressing was homemade balsamic vinaigrette. We thought this was pretty good and I was obsessed with the croutons. They tasted fresh and crunchy. I liked everything about this place. Everything tasted freshly made. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu!

3.5 stars I had seen…read morepictures of On the Deck courtesy of a few friends that had been to the restaurant and bar on the harbor. It always looked like such a cool place, and I had been really interested in checking it out. I finally made it there the other day, after a brief afternoon at a local beach. When we arrived around 6:30 pm on that Friday evening, we could see that the back deck was very full and that the parking lot was also close to capacity. We were able to, thankfully, grab a spot and walked over to the restaurant, climbing the stairs to the second floor where we met the hostess. We were told that the wait for outdoor seating was 40-minutes, while indoors was 30-minutes. Glancing around, the inside dining room was casual and nautically-themed. The tables and bar were bustling. The balcony was just as busy, but offered live music, so we determined that it would be worth waiting the additional time and added our name to the list. In the meantime, we decided to hang by the outdoor bar but were unable find a spot. Thankfully, a duo was vacating one of the few high-top tables in the bar section, which were first-come, first-serve. We grabbed that table and settled in to watch the beautiful sunset over the boats docked in the harbor. The staff and the few patrons we encountered during our visit were all very friendly, which only emphasized the laidback vibe of the waterside venue. The food, however, was mediocre at best. When our dinner was delivered, we did not receive any silverware, so we had to grab that from the bar, which was also from where we had placed our order. I had requested the Pan-Seared Salmon, which was well-cooked and served with thin stalks of asparagus, dry jasmine rice, and a huge amount of buttery garlic herb sauce. It made sense that the fish was served in a bowl, because there was so much greasy butter that it would have leaked all over if it was on a flat plate. Thankfully, the bartender had given me a few side plates, so I was able to move my food out of the oily bowl. My friend also had some issues with her meal. Her cup of New England Clam Chowder was flavorful, but watery and mostly broth. Her Fried Flounder Sandwich was heavily breaded and served with an unripe tomato and mushy, oily fries. From a beverage perspective, they had surprisingly interesting cocktails, but I was thrilled to see my favorite beer, Kane Head High, on tap. We simply loved the view, live acoustic tunes from P.D. Brody, and the overall relaxing atmosphere. However, we felt that the food could have been better executed. The menu offered all kinds of seafood and higher-end bar food, but the preparation left something to be desired.

We ordered the fish tacos, birria tacos, and kettle-style potato chips--and every plate came out looking as good as it tasted. The fish tacos were beautifully assembled, piled high with crisp, fresh slaw that added the perfect crunch to the tender, flaky fish underneath. Light, clean, and balanced. The birria tacos were the star of the table. Rich, deeply seasoned meat tucked into perfectly griddled shells, served with a savory dipping broth that takes each bite to another level. Messy in the best way possible--and completely worth it. Even the kettle-style potato chips stood out. Thick-cut, golden, and topped with just the right amount of flavor to make them more than just a side--they held their own next to the tacos. The overall experience ties everything together: polished yet relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that clearly have intention behind them. It's the kind of place where you can tell care is put into both the food and the experience. Atlantic House isn't just a good meal--it's a spot you'll want to come back to, and one I'd recommend without hesitation.
