Tables are laminate, floors appear laminate, but the bathrooms appear to be of higher quality options. Certain drink ingredients requested weren't available. (The server didn't know what allspice dram was; the bartender didn't even know what allspice dram was, let alone have it.) A friend requested a particular tequila, but they don't have it. He then requested a particular mezcal, and the server suggested something else. I sought out two particular Cabernet Sauvignon wines, but they don't have either of those either. I ordered an Old Fashioned made with rum instead of whiskey. I was disappointed with how sweet the drink was. After watching the bartender it's as if she's not pouring to the top of the jigger, indicating under-pouring. Maybe because "it's messy" to pour it complete. So I ordered a margarita next, thinking it's harder to mess that up-- if it wasn't great, then that tells me a lot about this place. The margarita was soooo heavy on mixer/lime juice. I don't know that I'll want to come back for cocktails. The menu and execution were both underwhelming. But hey, the decor is kind of pretty... We had eighteen 10-person tables and we could have added many more tables in the space. Also, outside the lodge there is a boat launch and a covered area with picnic tables and grills. The rental hall includes a large, attached, fully-equipped kitchen with refrigerator and freezer space. There is a huge fireplace, 15 ceiling fans inside and ceiling fans outside on the porch. There are restrooms inside and outside. This is a really nice location. It's hidden among mature trees that surround a lake and the lodge/park is easily accessible from interstate 65 and highway 43.

Her dreams and expectations were exceeded in every possible way. My daughter and my son in law got engaged two years ago, they both live in Jacksonville, Florida. Since both families live in Baldwin County, they decided to have their wedding here. When we started looking for a venue, we were having a challenging time looking for the perfect place and a reasonable price. Until one day my co-worker told me she went to a wedding at Waters Edge, I right away went online and checked them. I decided to call and make an appointment. We met with Anita, she showed us around the place, and it was perfect they have a gorgeous establishment, covered pavilion with a fireplace for an outside ceremony and on the walkway to the pavilion there is an iron arbor that can be decorated on the day of the event. The property was big enough that you can choose anywhere on the property to have your ceremony. We then went to the reception area (barn) the place was very accommodating with lots of room and a nice bar. It has a rustic look with lots of old memorabilia. We sat with Anita, and we talked about everything that we needed to know. She was very knowledgeable and experienced with events. We discussed our options as a family, and we decided to go with Waters Edge. As the mother of bride, I had so much on my mind and worried about everything after talking with Anita, she made me feel at ease and assured me that she would help us give our daughter an elegant and very memorable wedding for our princess. We met every month to discuss our progress towards the event. At every meeting we discussed what needed to get done. Anita made recommendations for us to adjust as time progressed, she kept me and my daughter on our toes. She was very pleasant to work with and accommodating to all our needs. Anita and her team were amazing!! Also want to say thank you to the bartender Rebecca, her staff and our Disc Jockey (Anita's husband) for keeping the drinks and music going and accommodating our family and designated friends with special drink requests!! What a fun time at the annual Christmas Potluck lunch for the senior citizens of the city of…read moreSpanish Fort. Tables were decorated by the various groups that meet at the center with Christmas Carol themes. Our Mahjong group chose "O Christmas Tree" for the two tables we decorated. Everyone attending brought a side dish or a dessert and 2 businesses furnished the entrees of ham and fried chicken. Music was provided by Greg Normand and Terry Youngblood. Christmas carols were played and even a sing along by the group of attendees. Door prizes were provided by Spanish Fort Businesses. Heather Allen, Spanish Fort Activity Director, did an amazing job of organizing this event. Thank you City of Spanish Fort for hosting this event.

Kitchen space is large. It's connected to the Spanish Fort Library. There is also a beautiful pond in the back with a nice deck/board walk and fountains.
