Very top Level 1 is the bar and grill, level 2 and the ground level are restaurant. Food is very delicious and service is wonderful. They have. Full bar but it's not all on the menu so ask if you want something. I asked for espresso and they had it even though on the menu there was only regular black coffee only.

The salt and pepper squid was on point, yet not overpowering. The deep fried prawns was simply perfect. You can taste the freshness of the prawn just underneath the deep fried batter. Fish was cooked beautifully and didn't fall apart easily when you slice through it. It's already 5 star experience and I would have given a bonus point to the restaurant for having biodegradable wooden takeout cuttery.

And we ordered a dragon roll for dessert which was a very cool experience and tasted delicious too! This place does get busy during the holiday season so book a table. I always get a pizza of course (what can I say, I LOVE PIZZA!) and the pizza is really good but the chef's home made crushed chilli paste/sauce is to die for. I discovered this by accident and he's not even famous for it but he totally should be. I always ask for chilli on my pizza and just expected the usual flakes or if I was lucky fresh chopped chilli. What I received was chillis grown in a fairy grotto, delicately stomped on by angels and spread over my pizza via the surface of a rainbow. Go there and order anything and ask for chilli, that's all I'm saying. The comedy's always fun, the crowd wander in a bit late sometimes which can be disruptive but the acts always manage to settle things down and the venue has a really friendly, cosy basement vibe that I often find lacking in snobby Sydney. I asked the friendly bartender if the lobster roll was warm or cold. She said it was warm. Well, lesson learned. A warm lobster roll in Sydney is not the same as a warm lobster roll in the states. I was given a lobster roll that was warm, but with dollops of Mayo as opposed to warm drawn butter. The flavors were decent, just not what I was expecting. It came with fries and a small side salad. Fries were nice and crisp. For my drink I ordered a whiskey ginger. I ended up having two more as I was enjoying the view from the rooftop and spending time with friends. I was charged a different price each time for the same drink. Not sure why there was inconsistency. Still a good spot!

That said, it is a…read morepopular spot and with the restaurant being on the smaller end, it's best to make a reservation. We were lucky to secure a booking for 1:00P on the day of. Their menu is considered modern Australian with an Italian flair, which is an interesting fusion of cuisines. They have tapas, entrees (appetizer size), mains (larger portions) and sides, which can be shared amongst the table or paired with a main to make for a more filling meal. + GRILLED TASMANIAN OCTOPUS (A$28): The four of us shared this and it turned out to be a tantalizing appetizer! Three meaty tentacles and one flat piece were served on top of n'duja (spreadable pork sausage) with pipes of lime confit on the side. This was my first time having n'duja, which had a smoky flavor from Calabrian chilis that paired well with the grilled taste of the tender octopus. The lime brightened up the dish with citrusy notes. + SEAWEED PRAWN PILLOWS (A$22): While tasty, if I tasted these blindly, I probably wouldn't think of shrimp and seaweed being the two main ingredients. The shrimp and seaweed were finely minced and made into a batter which was then fried into a fritter. They were crispy and light with a soft mochi-like texture inside. Salt on the plate enhanced the flavor even more. + SNAPPER FILLET (A$44): The snapper was delicate, moist and had a wonderfully seared skin. It came topped with a few zucchini blossoms, but that was the extent of the dish, so I'd recommend ordering a side with this. It was placed on a pool of creamy white sauce (which may have incorporated Jerusalem artichoke as noted on the menu) and dollops of black garlic sauce came on top. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the black garlic which had a very earthy flavor that I found too strong and off-putting for the mild fish. The four of us shared a side of BROCCOLINI (A$14) which was a great pairing with all of our mains. It tasted super fresh since the stems still had a nice snap to them. They were simply tossed with extra virgin olive oil, sliced almonds and chili for a hint of heat. My dad enjoyed their spatchcocked chicken and my sister was happy with her sirloin steak. The steak was cooked more than the medium that she requested, but it was still delicious and had a zesty salsa verde. Overall, we had a lovely lunch here. Our meals were wholesome and I could tell that everything was fresh and of pristine quality. This restaurant is right on the beach, so we enjoyed a direct view of the water, giving this spot a beachy vibe with casual elegance.
