    The grand finale
    Kaitlyn K.

Olivia was instrumental in preparing us for the first dance at our wedding in September. We came to her kind of last minute - our first lesson wasn't until late July, 8 weeks before the wedding - but she took us from 0 to 60 really quickly. When we first started, she was going to just make sure we knew all the basic steps and turns of two dances (the rumba aka box step and the hustle) so we could put them together naturally ourselves. She thought the flexibility would make my husband feel more comfortable. But when he said he'd feel more comfortable with actual choreography, she adjusted and helped us put something together. The best part about the whole experience was that it was a joint effort - Olivia never just told us what to do but worked with us so we could be sure we felt comfortable. That made it so that the dance went well on the day of our wedding, and we felt (mostly) anxiety-free!

The bow (Sebastian taught us to bow and have him present his lady - and enjoy our well deserved applause.)

Sebastian helped my (now) hubby and I learn to dance for our wedding in record time (11 lessons - we started them one month prior to our wedding day!) I cannot recommend him enough! Here is why: 1 - He himself is an excellent dancer! He has the technical knowledge to teach you so many different dances (rumba, fox trot, merengue, etc.) and incorporate details (hand and head movement/placement, facial expression, strong frame) that will make you look like a pro! He also gave us some great tips like sliding our feet to ensure neither of us stepped on my dress, and had me wear a large structured skirt to ensure I was comfortable dancing in a wedding dress. 2 - He is a fantastic teacher. Right from the start Sebastian was excellent at reading us as a couple. He struck the right balance between hands on instruction, giving us constructive criticism, allowing us to discuss different aspects of our dance & make decisions without his input, and quietly encouraging us to grow on our own (then giving us high fives when we did!) He stepped in to demonstrate steps (as both man and woman) and if we were stuck on something always knew how to get us to "get it". Because of him we progressed quickly and grew more confident. He even video taped us twice to ensure we liked how we looked! 3 - He made this entire process FUN! Even though we were under pressure, he was funny, encouraging, sweet, supportive - and I was looking forward to our lessons because they were like mini-dates for my (then) fiance and me. 4 - He is flexible and truly cares about his clients & wants them to be happy and to nail their dance. We wanted to learn different steps but not have a super choreographed dance - we wanted it a little looser to take the pressure off of having to remember choreography. He worked with us (and our crazy schedules) to create exactly what we wanted and it worked out perfectly on our wedding day. He even sent us a thank you card and followed up with us to see how it turned out. Our dance turned out wonderfully - we felt comfortable, had fun, and have the pictures to prove it! Some of my bridesmaids said this was their favorite moment of the night. And just like Sebastian said, the unexpected dips and turns delighted the crowd (attached are pics - look at their faces!) Thank you, Sebastian, for the good times and the great dance! :)

Thank you SO much Sebastian! We got so many compliments on our first dance as husband and wife. I felt like a princess and it was a dream! Love you too Ariana! Totally recommend getting lessons here before the big day but do it 6-8 weeks out so you aren't stressed. We pulled it off in 2.5 weeks but would have been smoother if we had thought of it sooner. Totally worth the $$. Bonus Tip - this is a great date night activity. It gave us time to laugh and have fun and forget about work and wedding planning.

They had all the equipment you would want (we actually don't even have yoga mats yet) and have this great foam flooring throughout the room. The class was small - Just 4 of us - which meant you got a lot of individual attention. The instructor was very cool, kept it light (not pretentious, thank god) and played music too, which I like a lot. It was challenging, but I am no expert and could handle it. They seem to have a lot of cool workshops (meditation, more challenging poses, etc.) too and generally it was a community feel, where you could really get to know your instructor. For an uptown spot that isn't hot yoga (ugh), recommend!

I mostly take the yoga classes with Christina on Wednesdays and she's one of the best instructors I've ever had. There are a variety of other wellness and fitness classes available and if you buy a class card, you can use that for all of the classes. The classes are laid back, begin on time and are never so full you don't have enough space. The studio also has all the gear you'll need, so if you're a beginner who is just starting out, you don't need to make an initial investment in a mat, cushion, blanket, blocks, etc. I've found that the classes and services offered at ZenSpace are generally cheaper than everything else in Hoboken, which is a nice perk! The owner, Kristen, is driven to provide the Hoboken community with a large selection of classes and services that improve their health and wellbeing; she is also open to feedback on scheduling and curricula to create the best experience for students. The only thing that I would like to see improved is the amount of yoga classes offered. I'd love MORE yoga classes and workshops, please!

I'm so lucky to have found such a wonderful community of people. I've grown a lot in more ways than just dance because they've encouraged me to take up so much space. We go to socials as a group a lot but one night when everyone had plans I decided to go out alone. And I thought to myself, timing and musicality has to be one of the best gifts I've ever been given. I can hold my own in any salsa room any where in the world all by myself and that felt and still feels like a super power. Thank you Mario B

Mario B is a fantastic teacher- his patience, expertise, and relatability are unmatched. Additionally he has created a structured, progressive and enjoyable curriculum that is tough but fair. There are the 6 week cycled classes (once a week) and also regular workshops/specialized classes to round out your learning. There are even Pre-Beginner classes (so no matter your skill level- anyone can learn to dance here.) SFOn2 also hosts a monthly student practice party so that you can ease your way into applying what you learn in class to a social setting. Enough cannot be said about the vibe too. I've been to prior schools where it feels intimidating and awkward. SFOn2 prides itself on creating a warm welcoming environment that is invested in the growth of the students (this extends to all the additional instructors and assistants - everyone is really nice!) The class sizes are smaller which is a major bonus- you get much more personalized instruction. If you're looking to try Salsa dancing, you'd be hard pressed to find a better school in the North Jersey area. 10/10 would dance again.

We looked forward to our weekly lessons because they were fun and really built up our excitement for the wedding. All of the instructors take the time to learn each couple's personality, which makes the experience feel very personal. Alex listened to our feedback and created a beautiful choreography for us that we truly enjoyed performing at our reception. We highly recommend the package, especially the option that includes customized song edits for your first dance and parent dances, as well as the wedding group class. At first, we didn't think the group class would add much, but Alex invited us to attend closer to the wedding and we turned it into a date night. It ended up being great preparation for the big day--dancing in front of people with a camera recording really helped simulate the wedding experience. We even sent the video from that class to our photographer and videographer, which helped them anticipate the best moments to capture. If you're on the fence, definitely go in for the intro lesson. The studio is fun, professional, and welcoming, with a great community. We'll be recommending it to our friends as they get engaged. Thank you, Alex! -- Heidi and Tom

Throughout the cooking, we also interacted with the chefs, asking them about the dishes, and also getting some samples of the dishes before they were served. We arrived for Sunday dinner reservation right on time. It was small space with about 20 spots. BYOB place, no cork fee. Half of the seat were around the kitchen. There was a scoring sheet for each guest with names of both chefs, the ingredients of the day and the rules. The chefs got 45 minutes for preparing their appetizers, 35 minutes for entree and 20 minutes for desserts. It was impressive to see both chefs were precise with their timing. The dishes prepared by both chefs were so masterful, had intricacy of combining the ingredients and coming up with some sumptuous flavors. Salmon and steaks were cooked perfectly. It was extremely difficult to score the chefs on barest of margins and pick a winner. But per the rules I did pick Chef Ryan Beegel over Chef Alexis Sicklick. The host was also super nice and funny. She did a super job of explaining all aspects of the dinner, cleaning out plates after each round and serving all the drinks. Truly it was one of a kind TV Show like experience for us.
