I looked at a few yoga classes around my hotel and landed on "community acupuncture" as my self care of choice today. This was my first acupuncture experience and I enjoyed it. I ended up being the only person for community acupuncture but I think with other people, it still would have been a great introduction. Janice took amazing care of me (she mentioned the new moon which was something I was thinking about). She took great care of me and I truly enjoyed this experience of reflecting and some release (i shed a few tears during the "session") I came feeling chaotic and worried, I left feeling more centered and cared for. There was no goal setting, no discussion of which nutrition path is right for me, no meal planning, and no strategies for a healthy, balanced diet, all of which are promised on their website! I was, however, told by the "integrative nutrition health coach" at the beginning of my appointment that "she is NOT a licensed dietitian or nutritionist" so she wouldn't be able to meal plan and give me the more structured support that I want! BUT "she could be someone that supports me on my journey." I got up and left because I'm not paying for someone who is NOT licensed and I'm not there to "rent a friend!"
