I will never go to another Belk anywhere thanks to these 2 sales associates at Coastal Grand Mall Belk. The sales associate named Myla and Store manager named Nasha. I was simply returning a jacket on New Years Day . And Myla didn't greet me didn't smile and said are you doing a return i can do that..well turns out she couldnt even though i had my reciept and tags on the item. She tried to tell me why but spoke so fast and wth a heavy accent and i am on chemo and don't understand things wth my medication very well. I simply said can you repeat because i didn't catch what you said because you said it fast and have a bit of an accent. She gpt mad and said im calling the manager . I thought that might help but the manager made it worse. Once she got there Myla said im not helping you and stomped off cussing . I was in shock. And the manager condonned that behavior. Even the manager Nasha had to ask her to slow down and repeat what the problem was. Again the manager didn't smile or greet me she said called me rude 3 times saying it was rude to say i didn't understand what Myla said. Itold Nasha i have cancer and didn't understand things always. And she replied that's no reason to tell her you can't understand. I was in tears .. and when i asked Myla what her name was she covered for name tag and said i don't have to give you my name. wow. I had to get out from another associate birth hers and the manager. It was New Yeaars Day. Neither said Happy New Year. Neither smilied and noone said thanks y business . And when i told them i have cancer they couldve said sorry your going through that instead of telling me that's no reason to not understand . Well they are wrong because chemo and medication does make a cancer patiant a little slow. I hold Belk responsible for allowing these 2 mean women to work wth the public. They are puctured belonw and i recorded the whole incident. Shame on them read more

I hate this place and its clueless employees. January 2024 I recently made an online purchase instead of going into the store for two reasons. Those being that store personnel are worthless, and the product was not carried in the store. Not surprised that when the product arrived, it was Chinese garbage. I went to the store to process the return. The wizard at the register said these products can only be returned online. Back home, I went where after a brief online search at Belk's website, I discovered that she was wrong. I'll be going back to the store shortly, where if I have a problem, I will create quite the scene. I hate Belk. I'll be dropping their credit card into my shredder upon the completion of this updated review. Not surprised that financial experts expect their bankruptcy soon. September 2023 It's been a year since the last time I tried to make a purchase at this Belk. The same exact thing happened as I described last year. This location is poorly managed, evidently by incompetents. I see this company following the same path as Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohls. If you don't have coupons, you're overpaying. Online predictions of Belk's pending bankruptcy are more realistic than I thought until recently. September 2022 Tried to make a purchase at Belk today. I picked up some men's shorts and headed for the register. Did not realize this would be a problem. I walked from one end of the second floor to the other. I passed three or four closed registers. I could not find any place to pay for the clothes. I gave up and just dropped them on a closed checkout counter. Incidentally, I had a birthday discount coupon that I tore up and left at the counter as well. At the very least, there should have been some indication as to where to find an open register. It will be quite some time before I give Belk another chance. I will be shredding my Belk credit care. I will not cancel it because that would have a negative impact on my credit rating. read more

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. The store has been going downhill for a long time. You can usually only find two checkout stations open in the whole store. One upstairs and one downstairs. Their 30 day return policy is absolutely ridiculous!!! If you go one day over you are dead to them, no exceptions. The store has been taken over by SYNCHRONY BANK , never good. If you are looking for your hometown Southern Belk forget it. They no longer exist. SYNCHRONY BANK now runs Belk, feels like you are dealing with chatbot service assistants , we do not compute with humans. Sad, sad,sad!!!!! Belk isn't for the bargain shopper. The prices are on the higher end of department stores. Sometimes they send great coupon deals in the mail. This location is one of my favorites. They have a nice selection of items--jewelry, clothes, handbags and shoes. Overall, the store is very organized. There's a Mac counter which is awesome. Depending on the department you're in, it can be difficult finding an associate for assistance. I think they offer Saturday door buster deals. I haven't been to one to know if the deals are good. read more

I was very pressed for time so I called ahead to make sure they had an item I needed and they said they did and that it was available. When I got there, the young woman I asked for help from said she didn't know what I was talking about and acted like they didn't carry the item. I asked to speak to who answers the phones and she said it could have been anyone. I eventually found the item on my own but it would have saved me a lot 30 minutes of walking around if she would have pointed me in the right direction. read more

Really like most of the merchandise, they have great sales, and the friendly and cordial staff (when you can find one). On line ordering is also simple and easy and like when they offer free shipping. BUT...... Don't try to do a presell at the Lancome counter - there is never anyone there. I've tried on three separate occasions and am unable to get any help. Called several times prior to this and the phone just rings and rings. Truly DO understand all the shortages during this virus but seriously, if someone is having an event that happens only twice a year, you would think there would be coverage at least from the Lancome Account Executive themselves or something. I am so disappointed in Belk's Department Store!! I ordered 3 '4K Firesticks' on 12/7. Last week I received email saying items had shipped. This morning I tried to track the shipment and nothing had been posted. I received email 5 days ago saying they'd been shipped! I called Belks to find out they were out of stock!! I stopped into this store several days ago and found a beautiful dress for my wedding day. It was on sale and I was thrilled. I went upstairs to find lingerie for under my dress and I met Vinesha, who was working in that department. I tried on several garments and nothing fit right. Vinesha came down from the heavens with her measuring tape and escorted me to the dressing room. She is a master at measuring and sizing a woman properly. After trying on several items I made my choice and was done shopping. As I was leaving, I noticed the MAC department and got some help with eye makeup. I will be ready for my big day. My shopping was complete. The staff are warm and polite and Vinesha is my sister from another mother. We laughed and had the best time, and she made some good sales. My daughter will be getting married soon and I'll be returning to Belk again. I just love this store. read more

I was so happy to see that Belk's is selling vegan purses, and I hope they will offer more styles and colors of them in the future. On a side note, some of their sale signs are deceptive. For instance, they had a display of wallets marked 25% off. I got my dad one off the table in front of the display. When I got to the register the wallet I selected wasn't 25% off. Nonetheless, it was still a good deal, but you definitely have to verify what's on sale and what's not! read more

I had never been in a Belk Department Store before. The people j was with walking around the mall, made the comment that it is a southern store. Meaning locations are only in the south. So I said 'what the heck - lets go in'. Seems to have particular style of clothing. Not anything I would choose to buy. But that's not why I gave it a low rating.. The prices! Oh my gosh! I couldn't. I just could not. $100+ for one clothing item?! You have got to be out of your mind to pay crazy prices like those. And to not even walk out with a few items for that much money? This store has a fantastic selection of menswear from formal to holiday styles. The staff is both knowledgeable and helpful. This is the type of department store that I can get lost in for hours because of the incredible selection and the friendly atmosphere. I went into the store looking to add a few items to my work wardrobe and I was not disappointed. Thanks to the excellent selection and the helpful staff, I left with new slacks, shirts, jackets, accessories and even a couple of pairs of shoes. I have to say that it was the staff that helped to grow my sale from a simple purchase to a more comprehensive one. Paul was my sales associate and he was more than helpful. Based on my receipt, Steven Quickerly is the manager for this store and he is to be commended on creating an excellent shopping experience. This was literally one of the most uncomfortable experiences in my life. I love Lancome makeup. I use to buy it back home before I moved down here to SC. I went to the Lancome counter to look at their products, the woman I was talking to was very helpful and very polite. Although we didn't talk much.. I cannot remember her name. However there was another woman that came down but she didn't help me. and I remember her name was Angela. I think I spelled it correctly. She was talking about her coworkers and complaining about them. It was awful. It made me so uncomfortable I left. I hope no one has this same experience. Keep things professional people!!!! Elaine is absolutely is worse shoe sales person. Telling me an item I previously purchased was not possible to get at same price if I exchanged for a different pair. When asked how does that make sense she got upset. I said to her you have the receipt with the price I paid so why is it impossible to give me the same item in a different color for the same price. "I don't like the way your talking to me" says, Elaine. Is that because your not making any sense?? Overwhelmed and it's not even busy today. But I guess that's her norm. Last time I came in here she was the same way. Smh! Thank GOD she called her manager over because I was ready to cut my card up . Her manager Nicole was amazing. I asked her the same thing I asked Elaine and she was able to comprehend and complete with out a problem. She needs to work in a clothes section. So today while I was shopping at belk I was looking for a black long sleeve shirt and when I went to the fitting room and I left the fitting room with the black shirt I had tried on to go look at bow ties and to see which one would match and i wasn't even out for less than 5 minutes until I went in there to get my clothes and when I had went Into the room to get the shirt that I had Originally worn into the store it was gone and I went to the nearest register to tell an worker that my shirt was missing and to see if an other worker had clean out the room where I had change into and when I went up to the register I told the guy my shirt was missing and when I looked behind him there was a trash and inside the trash can WAS MY BRIGHT YELLOW SHIRT and keep in mind I wasn't even gone for 5 mins from that fitting room and I point at the TRASH CAN and say that was my shirt and he just looked at me and smiled and grabbed it out the trash can and right before he handed to me he jokingly said that I could buy it back from him and I didn't say nothing I just grabbed my shirt out of his hand and just walked a way and he didn't even say sorry about what had happened and didn't even say sorry and I go there on a regular basis an I never have any problems there like this until now read more

I was in Myrtle Beach in May, 2018, and shopped at the Belk store in the Mall. I had picked out some clothes and asked if I could leave them at a counter because I have an injured ankle and have to wear a boot on the ankle which is very heavy. I needed to find my husband who was patiently waiting out in the mall area. Well, when I found my husband and came back in the store to pay for my purchases I could not remember where I had left them. A real sweet Belk employee who had already given me help while I was shopping, previously, asked if she could help me. I believe that she could tell by the look on my face that I was getting extremely tired. My husband was trying to help but did not know the clothes that I was looking for. The name of the employee, I believe, was Ximena. ( A Beautiful girl who had told me she had a little girl, because we had been discussing Mother's Day. ) She walked me all over the store taking me to each sales area in the women's department. We finally found the clothes and another girl came to check me out. I was so thankful to Ximena, but felt bad because she did not get credit for the clothes that she had previously helped me with. I just want to tell you how thankful I was that Ximena helped me. I am an elderly handicapped woman who definitely needed help and Ximena met that need. She was truly a blessing to me and I will never forget her. I hope to see her again in July. read more

CLINIQUE COUNTER-AVOID!!!!! Was in today 2.21.16 to exchange a makeup product at 2:30pm. A rude, brown short haired old woman at the counter shuffled me, without listening or asking what I was wanting to do to another, blond haired heavy set, older woman. It was EXTREMELY APPARENT to both my husband, myself and my daughter that just because I pulled out the makeup from the newest gift bag Clinique is now offering at Belk's dept. stores her attitude was VERY RUDE!! She made me feel EXTREMELY bad and like I wanted to return the makeup and keep the bag!!! Both ladies didn't listen until I stopped the blond and said I would like to exchange my BB cream makeup product for TWO cleansing brush kits which are actually $89.00 each. The old short brown haired first woman acted like she couldn't handle one question at all and the blond was totally confused. These two wear glasses but I think they need a new pair and also the short brown haired needs hearing aids because she acted like she didn't hear anything I said! THIS CLINIQUE COUNTER IS THE WORST ONE I'VE EVER VISITED IN THIS COUNTRY AND EUROPE!! I've been a Clinique wearer since I was 15 and I will be 49 this year. That's 34 years of time and thousands of dollars later to be treated like I was a lepar and they were Pagans. PLEASE CLINIQUE ONLY HIRE COMPETENT AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO SELL YOUR PRODUCTS! My best friend and I shop at Belk often, so when we were in Surfside, we decided to shop at Belk before coming home to Charleston. This review is only for the men's shoe department, because there is a total lack of customer service in that department. We were the only customers at the time, my friend found a Sperry shoe that she needed. We started walking up to the counter, but before we got there, a lady walked up. Once we got closer, we realized she was also an employee. Apparently she was a manager because as we walked closer she was reprimanding the associate (older gentleman) him for being rude to a customer on the phone. Mind you, neither of them acknowledged us as we walked up to the counter. I walked away and went to look at children's shoes while my friend waited to be helped. Once at the children's shoes, I noticed she was still just waiting to be acknowledged, so I said loudly "I'm going to look at children's shoes while you check on that shoe". Still nothing, the female manager continued to talk to him about whatever incident occurred. I looked at children's shoes, hollered at my friend to look at a shoe and came back to the counter. Finally, the female manager was done, so she turned around and walked away ... again, not even acknowledging my friend or even saying sorry for your wait. The gentleman asked my friend if he could help her. She asked he if he could get a sperry in size 11 1/2. When he returned, she asked him if those were the only style on sale. His reply, I do not know, rings the shoe up and says but this one is on sale. She said okay, but do you know if the other styles are on sale, again he simply says he does not know; not I do not know, but I can check, just I do not know. So, he rings her up, her total is $90 plus. I had 2 baby items, but chose not to have him ring me up. We walk towards men's suits, and overhear the associate over there giving his customer Belk bucks since they spent over $75. My friend was like, well, he didn't give me any Belk bucks, we turned to go back to men's shoes, but see that he is already counting down his register, so we went over to the associate we overheard to ask him about it. He gave my friend her Belk bucks and she said he must not know about it. The associate replied, he knows, he probably just doesn't have any. We walk away shaking our heads, discussing the lack of customer service in men's shoes and cannot believe the female manager was discussing him being rude to someone on the phone, when both of them were rude to customers in front of them. read more

Keara an associate at belk coastal grand mall was the first I had to encounter.I shop at belk religiously it is the one place i always felt i could find what I needed.First i wait in line while Keara needs to finish an important discussion on when she will take her break. She finally noticed me.Letting Keara know I just want to exchange a $36 item for store credit.Just purchasing it this month didnt think to bring my receipt.She made me aware it would only be an $8 credit. In an offhand remark I say oh thats bullsh*. At this time I did not know I offended a grown woman with a swear word. She lets me know she can look it up by card if I paid that way. While looking in my bag I harmlessly ask how is your day going? she huffs and says fine. I ask oh wow did I ask the wrong question?Thinking maybe she is having a hard day. But no it was because of me. She say well no you just swore at me. I clarify that I was not swearing at her it was just an off the cuff remark because I was shocked by the difference in price. I told her that if i had offended her i wish she had told me. You see if I had known I had offended her by me saying a swear word I would have apologized. Her response thats not my responsibility.I am off work today i didnt think to watch one word in front of adults. I didnt scream or shout at her or say this is your fault , so why was i treated with such animosity. As humans if we offend one another its easier to make people aware instead of acting rude at your own work place. I asked to speak with Jake Dean the manager while Keara is talking on the phone with him they go back and forth because he is upstairs and apparently didnt want to come downstairs. I tell him what happened, not one apology, till I pointed it out. While he walks away Keara decides to say more to me. To the point her coworker has to tell her to walk away. But lets not forget them whispering in the corner about me like I am not there.I let the manager know what has occured while he was away well here is the shocker he yet again had nothing to say.Saying nothing shows me that nothing will even be addressed. Everyone hurts in this economy you figure you would want to retain people that shop at you establishment instead of push them away. Maybe its because i wasnt dressed up because it was my day off and I didnt look like I have money. Who knows. But I for sure know they lost a loyal customer shopping there for 10 years now. read more
