I usually enjoy shopping at Belk, but this visit was disappointing. The store looked messy just 15 minutes after opening--clothes were scattered and shoes were all over the place. The cashier in the men's department was very friendly with the customer ahead of me, laughing and chatting. However, when it was my turn, her attitude completely changed. She was wearing gloves but didn't change them between customers, which felt unsanitary since she was handling multiple people's items. I had a bit of sinus drainage and coughed into my elbow, being mindful of hygiene. The way she reacted--giving me a rude look and pushing my bag toward me--was unnecessary and unprofessional. If you're going to be kind and welcoming to one customer, that same energy should be given to everyone. read more

Belk has a fantastic men's department with great quality clothing. My husband shops here for both his work attire and casual wear. It can be a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth checking out during their big clearance events and sales. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality pieces. read more

I went to the MAC counter in the store, and it was a waste of my time. The sales person was fifteen minutes late and took her sweet time to count her cash drawer before acknowledging me. I wanted to purchase lashes and have them applied by her - since this is their policy. She informed me that she doesn't know how to do it. I wasted thirty minutes for nothing. I will never go to the MAC counter at this location again. It's sad that people don't really care about providing good service anymore. read more

Every time I shop here the staff is so rude. You can't get waited on when you do they smart off comments to me and my 73 year old mother. We came for Mother's Day 3 years ago and the shoe dept staff is very rude and snappy my mother is blind in her left eye. You wouldnt know that by looking at her. She always asks for an 81/2 they bring her a 71/2 or a 9 she says to the staff I asked for 81/2 and they just say try it in anyway. She was in tears then when she tries to check out the staff is so rude and snappy she looks for her card and because It May take her a min to find it they start huffing and puffing at her. Really would you treat your mom that way and grandmother. I used to love to shop here the selection of clothing was hip and young. But now you cant get help and when you do get help the staff is just as rude as 3 years ago. They don't want to help you find anything or help with a damn coupon. If you left yours at home forget it. They act like you are stealing even after paying 480.00 in clothes. So rude I will continue to shop Neiman Marcus. And the quality of shoes is terrible and the clothes. read more

I visited Belk in Snellville this morning to look for shoes, and the salesperson who identified herself as the manager of the shoe Department was just as rude, disrespectful and unhelpful as could be. She told me her name when I asked. I have NEVER been treated so ugly by a salesperson in my life. All I can say is she is NOT a good fit for working with the public. She appears to be a very unhappy person and not at all happy with her job based on her bad attitude. They have the worst customer service. Overheard the greeter speaking about the way a pregnant customer was dressed because the lady was wearing leggings and flip flops. MAC lady was at lunch and no one else had a sense of urgency to assist. Manager came out to assist just for there to be no products available that were on display. Depending on what you need, this place can save you time from running to the mall. I've read a lot of bad reviews on this place and yes with some things it can get a little pricey. I didn't have any problem with help, but by the same token some of the fitting rooms still had clothing left in them. Maybe they didn't know about it until it was time for them to go clean up. This place is awful. Instead of doing their jobs, the entirety of the staff was standing near the entrance gossiping and having a good ole time. Normally you'd have the size of the garment corresponding to the number/size on the hanger; however, I can't even count the times I picked up a garment saying XL and being disappointed because it was actually a S. No one approached me to offer service until I was on my way out. And at that moment, I was that asshole who doesn't respond and just stares at you like you just said the dumbest thing in the world. This has got to be the nastiest belk in all of Georgia. I haven't been to this belk in over a year and now I remember why. Instead of mask you should have to wear hazmat suits to enter this store. I used to shop this location often when I lived in the area about two years ago. It had started going down before our move but I visited this week and was really sorry to see how much worse it is now. Rarely does anyone offer to help, customer service stations are left unstaffed, multiple sizes of clothes are in the wrong sections or on the wrong hangers for the size. It's work to shop here, I feel like I need a discount just for the effort. They do have some decent sales but good luck finding your size. I've had sales staff look right at me while I stood at a service desk and walk on by without a word. So I went to this Bell today about 3:30pm for something to wear to church. Now we know Bell is NOT cheap but they tend to have some nice dresses. I found a nice dress to try on and made my way to the DIRTIEST fitting room I have ever seen!!! The carpet was nasty, hangers all over the floor, and trash everywhere. It was so disgusting that I walked out of the dressing room to see if it was a sign to say not to go in. I wish I would have taken a picture but I was rushing and wanted to get out of that fitting room before something bit me! Belk MUST do better. No good morning or hello how are you from the employee or the person ( Mgr maybe) that was putting up candy at the register. I was in the store for 30 to 45 minutes without a single sales associate asking me if I needed assistance. Tonight I came to Belk to buy a pair of men's Stacy Adams shoes. I immediately found the shoes and I asked for assistance since there was only one on the table. The first lady I asked to assist me was helping someone at the register because a fellow employee called out today. She asked me to get someone named Miss Janice because she was not going to be able to free up for a while. I've found my way over to housewares and asked Miss Janice for assistance. Miss Janice refused to assist me saying at the other lady can come off of the register because it's really not her job anyway. She told me to go back to shoes and I would be assisted. Between the back-and-forth of the craziness almost a half an hour went by. I still received no assistance from the time I walked into Belk until the time I left. It was at that time after about a half an hour but I thought to myself why am I paying my money to be disrespected on this level. If Belk doesn't care enough about the public they serve to have enough staff to support a high shopping season like Good Friday and Easter coming up why am I the one running back-and-forth across the store. I will never come back to this Belk again. Horrible horrible horrible customer service! And an absolute disrespect for the time and energy people take to come to your store specifically. read more

Beware that this store refuses to issue refunds. I returned a gift that had been purchased on a debit card. They do not treat debit purchases as cash/check purchases and will only give a store credit. There is nothing in that store that I want - I want a refund. This is not shown on the receipt or on the website, so I don't know if this is at the discretion of each store manager. They must be having financial problems. read more

On August 5,2012 I purchased a pair of pants for a friends birthday, unfortunately the pants were to big. I had to returned them on August 6,2012 and encountered a very unpleasant sales person,she probably was having a bad day, She took my bag, dumped the item on the counter, not saying a word, Her comment was these will be credited to your belks card, still not saying one kind word. I was a little upset and failed to get her name. The next time I go to Belks, if I go, I will look for her and get her name. I will give it two star because I do like their merchandise, but from now on I will go out of my way to avoid this location. Which is a shame because I live exactly 1.5 miles from the store. The employees here are rude, and do NOT want to help you. Yesterday was the last straw. I had to return a pair of pants, I approached the employee, (that rung the pants when I bought then and was RUDE then too!) said "excuse me, I need to make a return" she at me with a "you've got to be kidding" look on her face and said "in a minute." Then she directed me to jewelry. I went to the jewelry department to return, and the girl was on the phone, she said "you trying to return clothing in jewelry?" I said "yes and she (pointing to Karen, I think that was her name) sent me over here". She reluctantly said to the person on the other end of the phone "I call ya back". She then yelled over to "Karen" and said "Ms. Karen, you send her over here"? like I was lying! She finally did my return, never ONE WORD!! When I was done I walked by 'Karen' and also from her, not one word. This was not a busy time of day, it was Sunday evening at 6:30, I can count on one hand how many customers were in the store. The service at this location has been going downhill steadily within the last two years, yesterday was the last straw. Unfortunately there are a couple of very nice employees there but the rude ones make it very hard to want to spend my money at this location. Which is sad I'm a very good Belk customer and always choose Belk over Macy's. Belk managers and district managers, do a revamp of this store.
