The small walkway he did a fine job. HOWEVER, the fence this company put up after he claimed they install all the time is horrible!!!!! First off we needed the fence 360 degrees around our backyard as we have a pool that needs to be fenced in. They installed the fence leaving a nearly 2ft gap off the ground. I was not happy and when questioned was told we can landscape the opening. Not even 1 year later the winds that come through the yard have now left my fence very unstable. I have contacted multiple fencing companies and they will not even entertain fixing this. Their suggestions are to take it down and start over. It's 385 feet of vinal fence so not an option. We are now trying to work with another landscaping company to bring in 80 - 100 yards of material to attempt to bring up the height of the yard. Something in my opinion that Chris should have brought up given his "expertise". I am also now having to come up with an insane amount of money for dirt to fix this companies screw up. I have left multiple voice mails and not surprised no return phone calls. If you invite "wekando" to provide a quote and it looks great on paper beware. To make your project right you'll probably shell out a lot more money. Shame on me for thinking this was going to work out. Shame on them for ZERO accountability!!!!

I've watched this company grow after I moved here permanently so many years ago. The guy is local…read moreand the business is local. I have heard no one I know who use them say anything but good things about the quality of their work. Almost all my neighbors use them. For most of them, it is a second home, and they have year-round support needs from Stephens. Being a shoreline resident, I hired them here and there over the years to do outside jobs in my yard, dropping 4 figures each time.... This year I had some conspicuous experiences, however. First, this Spring I contacted them 4 times to see if they were interested in a yard maintenance job they've done for me no less than 5 times before. I have a customer manager; this is not a cold-call to a main number. Twice by phone and twice by Email, directly to my manager. I got a big fat nothing, and it's a clear statement on how much my business means to them now that they're the big-boy.... Second, I needed some shoreline wall & dock work that was way beyond my capability. I'm talking permit from the state, etc... After having the salesman come to my home and talk to me - without looking at the job - and trying to sell me a modular shoreline wall system for $280,000 (good thing I'm on heart medication!), he then went out and looked at the job and quoted me $46,000. I went to a very well-known and respected town company that specializes in complex dock situations and hired them for the $11,600 job. It was done to perfection for 4X less cost. For the Stephen's price, I could have done the project, buy a whole new dock, and had enough money left over to buy a new boat! I publish this not to disparage Stephen's. They are obviously in a good place now after a lot of hard work over the years. I just want everyone to know, they aren't there for most of us anymore - unless of course you're a potential client willing to shell out 5 or 6 figures a year. Otherwise, you aren't any value to them. I am still a fan, cheering from the sideline, but sadly, I am no longer the kind of client they want.....

I can't even express how happy we are with the service, professionalism and work product. We had them bid the project on a total solution basis and every thing they did was not only done properly but exceeded expectation in every way and in perfect alignment with the permitting. Too often when you work with a contractor on a project bid basis they either try to cut corners after things get rolling or nickel and dime you on change orders. Never once did I get that feeling from this team. Often they were the ones saying "if we add this here or that there this would be awesome" and boom, it was done and never once did they push for an up-charge on things that should be included to make it perfect. As an example, at one point in the project we realized that the stone drainage swale that was installed to control run off for the driveway was going to cause a 'navigation problem' for our 92 year old neighbor, who likes to drop by and visit us from time to time. So we talked it over with Hunter (our Stephens Project Manager) and came up with a plan to add a granite slab bridge over the swale. We used some repurposed material that we had on site and the Stephens team jumped on it, and before you knew it, they built a cool little bridge. No up charge. As a side note we named the bridge after the neighbor just to make it cooler. After all, every veteran should have a bridge named after them! Another point I should comment on is that a couple times during the project we did add some things to the overall scope of the project that were not in the bid. When we did ask for additional work we were given extremely fair pricing and excellent work in every case. I would highly recommend this team to any one that wants a professional job, done right, and at a fair price. You will not regret your choice.

The project involved an enormous patio, gardens, irrigation, decking, stairs, granite steps, that circled a large house that ran up to to the house, down to a dock. The project involved much regrading of the terrain. It also involved paving with materials a long, rather steep shared driveway that was deeply rutted. We watched the project unfold over several days and were deeply impressed with the scope of the project. Wow. The workers were diligent and never stopped except for lunch. Their expertise came shining through on every aspect of the project. They used bobcats to remove big boulders. They had to cut into rocks in the existing landscape to make the terrain suitable for the patio that circled the house. It was fun to watch. All the while we looked at our tired patio and thought "hmmmmm". We asked our neighbor for an introduction to Tom. Such a nice man! Tom came over with one of his crew, and measured off our spaces, which ended up being a walkway, patio and driveway. It was pitched all wrong and they worked that out, showing their expertise. After seeing the quality of the workmanship next door, we were happy to accept Tom's bid. With the equipment already next door our patio and walkway were installed in a jiffy. It's beautiful. I've put a second story on a house, done a kitchen and a few bath renovations, gutted a small house, and done landscape jobs. Tom is the easiest, friendliest, professional I have ever worked with. If he doesn't answer the phone he calls back promptly. His crews can't be beat. There wasn't a hiccup in the project. I can't say enough about Landscapes by Tom and am pleased to whole heartedly recommend him for any job.

After a significant dwindling of fish due to leaks and issues we took action. We couldn't bare to remove it, and knew fixing the leaks would be only temporary and decided to make the significant investment in a full rebuild. We researched many providers and finally found American Waterscapes and couldn't be happier. Notably, there prices were exceptionally transparent on their website and while koi ponds are a major investment, their all in prices seemed far more reasonable than some of their competitors. Their portfolio of work was most aligned with our aesthetic as well. They also had space to fit us quickly in their schedule. What sealed the deal was however, the owner April's knowledge and passion for her craft and answering our endless questions. Her partner and team were all exceptional and professional as well. What most surprised us was how quick it all took. Aside from the initial excavation, April personally spearheaded it all, placing every rock on the spot to best compliment our space. While she warned lawns can of course get in a bit of tatters, we saw very few side affects. The grass that had compressed quickly grew right back up. She was amazing at finding the most beautiful fish based on requests and spend as much time as possible outside watching them and seeing their personalities quickly emerge. We had a few follow up questions she was quick to respond to. The season has escaped us so will hold off until Spring to take many more photos as the plants grow, but in the meantime, wanted to help others considering a Koi Pond, to certainly add American Waterscapes to their shortlist. You won't regret it.
