This is a great event center. I was at the Bell County ComicCon and saw how easy everything fit in the different spaces. How easy traffic flow between buildings was. There's also a massive parking lot. The center has a dirt arena and area for animals. Our event was able to make use of the arena! Other buildings work well for standard conferences; they have some small meeting rooms in each of the other buildings. If you see that an event will be held here, it should turn out great--venue-wise. read more

Been here a couple times for events but this was the rodeo! What a good time ! Great seats,priced fair ! Concession stands had the standard options . Pretzels were perfect ! Nachos were good ! Alcohol was 6-7 bucks Rodeo was fun and entertaining! Would def go to it again! There was a live concert after the rodeo but we couldn't stay cause I had work the next morning, hopefully next time I can ! read more

I'm so sad to write this review but as I've told people my story, it has to be said. My husband & I attended the concert "For King & Country" on April 15th, Saturday at the Bell County Expo Center. The box office Mgr, Tim, was responsible for hiring an ASL interpreter so that I would have access to the concert. He actually asked a friend who could not even sign the number "4" or any concepts at all. She did not know ASL & she should not have been paid for what she did, unfortunately. She actually told me that "she should pay me for teaching her ASL." But I was there to enjoy a concert and not there to teach the interpreter that was hired to give me access! I'm very disheartened by this experience. We had to Leave the concert at intermission because I absolutely got zero out of it! I finally had to tell the interpreter to "Stop" so I could at least just watch the light show etc... it was that bad, yes! Anyways, I needed to let someone know about this because I hope it will help them for next time, to actually reach out to an interpreting agency & hire a qualified interpreter. The light show in the arena was cool, for the part we stayed for and we didn't have any food, so I cannot comment about that. read more

I've come to this venue many times. A Sami Show, Four Winds Intertribal Pow Wow, etc. Last month and last night I was here for a graduation. I actually learned from the one last month and arrived earlier than the start time in order to find parking and a seat. So glad I did that since it was packed here! I felt bad for the family members arriving at 7:30 or later for the 8pm graduation. There were families standing up and this place got packed quick. Security was checking bags upon entering. The staff opened doors for people to walk out of once the graduation was over. It was organized chaos since there were so many people trying to leave at once. Before and after the event there were police officers routing traffic. Finding a spot wasn't difficult once I drove past the entrance. They don't allow balloons, signs/billboards or air horns into this venue for graduation. Yet I saw signs, saw somebody bring in a balloon and heard air horns. The families are proud and they can't help it! Their baby was graduating. Thanks Bell County Expo Center for a wonderful event. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2018 - PART 2: 54/100 I've been to this Expo three times in the past five years, and I came here for one reason and one reason only: HARKER HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY. There was a change in procedure in this last visit: all guests must now have admission tickets. (Apparently, there was some chaos during last year's ceremonies because of people holding "spots" for others.) The staff are trained to handle a huge crowd. Getting in and out was always smooth. Parking was never a problem. The one thing that bums me out, though, is that none of the eateries are ever open! (I'm sure they've assessed it isn't worth it.) TIP: Bring something to keep you warm. It may be 100degF and humid outside, but it is DANG FREEZING inside. That 3rd visit is most likely the last. Big Bro's youngest kid was the reason for that attendance. I gathered a group together to go see the Carden International Circus on 3/9. The center was easy to find and Google led us right there. We parked around what I assume was the back of the building and had to walk pretty far as there was only 1 entrance open. The lobby was packed and very unorganized. There were workers (I assumed from the circus) standing on boxes just yelling at people to get in to lines. They could have used rope or something to make the entrance process smooth. We had general admission and found good seats fairly easily as there were lots of options. But the arena seating itself was disgusting. It hasn't been cleaned from the previous show. So there was trash everywhere and melted snow cones and drinks drenched the floor. Every step I took I squished on the ground. Overall, I was very unimpressed by the care of the facility and I will not attend another event. read more

Went to see a rodeo at the fair this summer, average carnival games, rides and the awesome texas fair food which unfortunately our diet prevented us to eat but either than that it's a nice venue to take your family nothing big but just enough to have fun. The indoor rodeo was pretty awesome being 2nd time going to one and the little ones ridding sheep was something to see, defiantly a good time for the family. read more

Shit, I bought two of the cheap seats, and yet we were on the FLOOR. Wished we'd been in the middle instead of on the side, but at least we weren't in the nosebleeds. The expensive seats seemed to be in the rafters, which makes no sense. Ample parking, with small-ass lobby and t-shirt area. I was worried about the seating area being so cold at first, until Quani and I went upstairs to look at t-shirts. Once we got back from buying my awesome-ass t-shirt, the back of my neck and my armpits were needing the a/c. Overpriced tees and beers, as you might imagine, but I didn't let that stop me from buying the sexiest sleeveless, girliest ZZ Top tee and three... ahem, I mean five, domestic cheap-ass beer. You don't like Lone Star? Go to a concert at Belton County Expo Center; you'll suddenly be begging for Lone Star. Quani was. I was, too, but I've come to love Lone Star over the years. When we got to Hideout Pub later, a friend remarked, "How come you guys are sober? Didn't you just come from a concert?" Yeah, because Bud Light, Miller Light and Michelob Ultra Light just can't compare; nor can they make you buzzed. I'm almost certain the latter is why they sell the crappy beer there. I'm really glad, though, that there were three beer tents behind the floor seats. That meant we didn't have to go too far for refreshment. Coulda seen better had I brought my glasses, but I got a pretty nice peep of the bands, when I was able to crane my neck around all the Jolly Green Giants in front of me. Woulda been nice if the floor seats were angled so I could have seen over all those Yao Mings. During Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird", I couldn't hear the guitar solo that well. Really not sure whom to blame, but blame definitely goes somewhere. Well, shit, whatever... I got my "Free Bird", and I got my ZZ-Top "Legs" and "Sharp Dressed Man", so I'm happy. And, thanks to ZZ Top playing the same set they played at the new Backyard last year, Quani and I knew when to skeedaddle and get to the car to leave and avoid traffic. But we didn't avoid traffic. Yeah, they need someone directing traffic at this place; it was a total clusterfuck. NOTE: There is an exit at the BACK of the parking lot, on the east side, so don't think that you have to sit in line for two hours crawling toward the front exit, with assholes barging in front of you. Wish there were better restaurants nearby. There's a Golden Chick, a Subway, and some disgusting (says a friend) place called Jake's Chinese Restaurant. 'Cause Belton is all about being authentic. Next time, I'll either opt for Subway, or I'll allow myself to starve. The local burger place two of our Yelp friends glamorized was disappointing. Awesome moment #1: After the opening act, the house lights came back up, and some girl jokingly remarked, "Wow, everybody's ugly." Well played, Miss. Well played. Awesome moment #2: Lynyrd Skynyrd left the stage after playing "Sweet Home Alabama". They had not yet played "Free Bird". I'm sure we all knew it was a tease, but after several minutes, I got a bit worried. Once everyone started chanting, "FREE BIRD!" though, they retook the stage and played it. Awesome moment #3: I'd forgotten what encore songs ZZ Top did last year, but Quani and I successfully guessed both of them last night. "La Grange" and "Tush". Great concert (mostly thanks to the bands), decent seats for the price, pretty good experience. Sure, I'll go back. Provided someone worthwhile is playing. read more

I came here for a Toby Mac concert. Parking for the event was free which is probably unheard of. The acoustics in the building sounded great. We were able to navigate to our seats with relative ease with the help of some volunteer ushers. The venue was large, but not overwhelming. I'm sure no matter where you sat you would have a good view of the stage. The structure itself is older which is fine except they could probably use some more restrooms. There were lines for the restrooms, even for the guys. I did not pay attention to what they were selling at the concessions stands. Leaving was relatively painless and quick. It is close to the freeway so we were able to get on the freeway and be on our way in no time which is always welcomed after a long evening. Overall it was a great experience and I would have no issues coming back here for another concert. read more

I went today. Without seeing the signs for no exit and re entry my wife made a purchase at the vendor area which they packed into a cardboard box which had some weight to it. I went to the gate not knowing of the entry rules and asked if I could simply toss the box in my truck which was parked 30ft from the entrance. Explaining we intended to stay for a duration of time and being a disabled veteran I didn't want to carry this box around a for hours and kill my already hurt back. After going back and forth and finally asking for a manager they made a concession and allowed me to toss the box in my vehicle and come back in. The folks at the entrances were extremely rude and backwards. Out right hostile over a simple request. By the time I got done dealing with them and got back in and rejoined my wife and mother in law they decided they wanted to leave. The issue - as we are leaving this "gentlemen" said I thought you were staying for the night. I told him my wife decided they wanted to go... so we are leaving. The man then called me a liar. Why on earth would I waste my time dealing with these people to throw a box in my car just to come back in and leave 15 minutes later? As a disabled veteran I would expect better from a TEXAS state fair. I do not understand how this backwoods person,(I am doing my best to not be insulting on yelp)Dare to question my integrity? What sense would it make to go through all of that back and forth nonsense to leave 15 min later. I would have just held it and left when my family said they wanted to leave. Very rude and disingenuous peoples. No consideration for disabled veterans and even more questioning my integrity by calling me a liar in front of other customers over such a stupid thing. read more

I went to Comic-Con, which was terrible. Who did they hire to do that job. I was there for really one thing only even though I'm an anime fan, and I've been to plenty of cons. I was there to see Chuck Norris. Okay, the boneheads said we're waiting for the line to die down. There's a problem with that Chuck Norris is a celebrity that's never going to happen. I was honest with the lady and said that they suck at this because it's the truth. She then got sarcastic or tried to be, but I wasn't listening. I heard what she said, but I wasn't listening because it's baloney. What she said well he showed up at 11:00 that's not our fault but yeah that may be but at the end of the day you expected that mine to die down that's not going to happen and I told her you could have worked smarter. I went around to see if it was open yet it still wasn't open even though he's there again I told the guy what's the deal why is he here and why are we still waiting he said what we're waiting for the line to die down I told him it's a celebrity that's a not going to happen then he said well he's going to be here all weekend and I said that's fine and dandy for someone who can afford to be here everyday I can't afford a hotel to stay multiple days for every single convention I go to. He then try to reiterate the excuse It's the line it's needs to die down and then I said well sir good luck on that that's not going to work you have a nice day more sarcastic than he reiterated to sarcastically reiterate back to him again why that's not going to work. When I went back around they actually had the line going they actually learned from their mistake I will say that much however they had to close it again because I had to go to lunch at that point I didn't want anything to do with it I wasn't mad about him going to lunch but if they haven't had done it smarter then I'm confident I would be walking away with an autograph. With somebody who's been a real inspiration to my life I'll never get that back if he gets dies from old age then I'll never get that chance again they didn't just ruin something for me they run something that was important to my life. What they did was similar to what every convention does in this situation to make it smarter it's stupid that they didn't even think of that before then. It proves that this convention was suffering from poor management who needs to just quit the game right now and quit being involved in conventions. Chuck Norris has been a real influence on my life, and y'all took that away from me. I've seen him more cons that have more people going to them with fewer people working do better. That was my first time going to your con, and there's nothing you can say to stop me from what I'm saying now and actually putting into actions I am never stepping foot back there again. I have gone to several small fairs in my lifetime, which had more to offer than this. $10.00 to enter, free parking was a plus, but I understand why. It took perhaps 5 to 10 minutes to walk around & and all that was there was food & a few rides. They had a couple of vendors set up, but where is all the normal fair crafts. Save your money and head to the state fair in Dallas. read more

Came here for a circus recently. The Expo Center is conveniently located off the highway. A bit hard to get to in the dark with all the surrounding road construction within a short mile radius, especially if it's your first-time there. Not impossible though. The arena smelled vaguely like farm animals, but it wasn't horrible. They do host events that involve livestock. Seats weren't too bad. Concessions are typical. Acoustics for the circus were terrible, but I'm sure it's not like that for concerts. Convenient to the area! read more

I only come here during February every year for the Bell county youth fair. When I come here for about a week each year it is good. Every thing has a place. There is plenty of parking for everyone even all the trailers. Unloading can be a issue, especially when the proper tags or pen assignments are not received. The place is well staffed, believe it or not the bathrooms actually stay pretty clean despite how much is going on and things we can step in with all the animals around, and stocked with paper towels, and toilet paper. The food for sale seems to be priced a little higher then it should, but you do have to pay for convenience (I guess). The security that is hired could be a little nicer when they are speaking to the parents of the children who are in the youth fair. Great place for the youth fair in my opinion. read more

I've lived in Central Texas most of my life usually I'm a fan of the Expo Center all because I was too young to notice specifics that I do look for in a venue. Although I do understand that the Expo is almost 30 years old. The acoustics for typically any event is terrible all because the system is all horns and drivers. They would've been much better off spending more money and upgrading to a very powerful system that would more than likely bring in more business throughout each year, but I'm not the director so whatever! I always would attend for various celebrations i.e. Bell County Youth Fair and Rodeo, 4th of July Celebration, Central Texas State Fair, several Sami Shows, and Trade Shows. "Garth Arena" which is the giant golf ball looking top seats about 6,000 guest estimated; which is perfect for just about any event.... The seating is very close but works, there are wheelchair accessible areas. The concessions are just like any ordinary concession. There is an assortment of parking, although they could use more because there are inconsiderate people that take two parking spots for their ridiculously large trucks. Overall, the venue is great for serving the Belton, Temple, Salado, Killeen, Harker Heights, plus many more areas. I would recommend that if you have a large event host it here. If you like the Rodeo, show up in February and you'll have a complete blast! Always give it a try! read more

The accoustics here are just not good for a concert. We had upper level seats and you couldn't hear the vocals just bass and instruments. On the floor you could hear everything. This lessened the enjoyment because if you don't know the song being sung you really couldn't go along with it. Also it was hard to hear the artists speaking. Maybe it was the microphones? The consolation was the tickets on that level were not crazy expensive. read more

Most recently, my family was here for the circus. This place is hast to many events. We have been here for dinosaur expos, carnivals, rodeos, concerts and monster truck shows. The Expo Center also has smaller spaces to rent out for work parties, quinceañera & wedding receptions. We have also visited the expo for high school and university graduations. Restrooms are spacious and clean. Ample seating for the shows. Smaller halls can accommodate groups of 150-600. read more

Bell county is a ok size. Has all types of events. Went far the yard sell. Was nice to see vintage stuff. My wife love yard sells. They had a boat show in the other side of the building. Over all bell county expo is a good spot. Just check online for what's going on. read more

Bell county expo center hosts many events throughout the year and majority of the time they do great. However during the annual Bell County Fair the beer lines are ridiculous. This is the one event I go to every year. I know the people are working as fast as they can, but a simple solution to this would be to have multiple beer stations instead of one with the longest line ever. I spent 30min in line. It sucked since I missed all my favorite sons at the concert because I was standing in line. read more

Went to see Willie Nelson on March 11th. From what I can tell, I'm lucky that I came in from the south because I was able to get into the parking lot without too much trouble. That was the last good thing the venue did. It was an unorganized mess in the lobbies. We got our seats and I went to get food and water. Spent 20-25 minutes waiting in the line. The concessionaires could NOT care less. The girl who took my order, once I finally got to the front, actually stood with my change in her hand and turned around to talk to someone about something else before finally handing it over. After the show was over, it was back to the mess in the lobbies. No organization. Trying to get out of the parking lot was a complete disaster. There wasn't a single person to be seen helping with traffic. It took close to a half an hour to get out. Glad I got to see Willie, but I'll never go back to the Expo Center. read more
