Sit down and grab some popcorn because we're about to spill some tea. Today is 8/23/2023. A family member of mine was having many troubles with their car, and was recommended by a friend to take it to C&C Auto Repair (said friend personally knew the owner of this shop). For the record: we'd had this car looked at and minor issues fixed by multiple mechanical friends. My family member had their car towed to this auto shop on 7/3/2023. The car sat in their lot for 2 weeks - without a call/email update from the shop to car owner - before the owner of the car called the shop to check in on their vehicle. The service writer at the shop briefly explained that the mechanics "have seen and diagnosed the car". Rightfully so, the owner of the vehicle was confused as to why no one had contacted them for an update to let them know the next steps. The service writer said they were going to order a part, and call with an update once it was received and the work was going to be started. Another week passes by - no call from the shop. The owner of the vehicle called and asked for an update. Apparently, they had "just gotten in the part and were waiting on a 'big job' to finish up before they were to start on their vehicle which was 'immediately next". Another week goes by, no update from the shop. Once again, the owner of the vehicle called and asked if they'd started on the repair yet. The service writer continued to give my family member the run-around, saying "we hope to get to it by the weekend". The weekend would pass, the owner would call again for an update the following Monday or Tuesday, to which the service writer would say "we hope to get it to this week" etc etc. This continued for an additional 3 weeks, each time the service writer promising the owner a call for an update, to which the owner was never contacted. The owner of the vehicle called for updates each time they ever spoke with the auto shop. Not once did my family member get a straight answer to anything, or get the chance to speak with the owner of the shop. A quick note to add: my family member relies on their car for their job. During this time, they've had to borrow multiple family members cars just to get to and from work. The customer service and decency C&C provided was next level UNPROFESSIONAL, and in my opinion, should be reprimanded for. My next step is to call the better business bureau to file a complaint. They had the truck till Tuesday charged her 100 and said they bleed front brakes. Looked at calipers and rear drums quoted her 800 for a brake job. Told her it was ok to drive how it is thou. It takes 1/4 mile to stop at 50 mph. The front rim is seized on rotor and brakes go to floor. How did they check calipers if wheel won't come off. They saw a young woman and ripped her off for 100. Tried for another 800. I will not being doing any business with them and don't recommend anyone else does.

I had to make an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Problem was…read morea sporadic hart-to-start and a metal-to-metal clackety noise when starting the car. I said to install a new timing chain and hydraulic tensioner, and inspect the other parts for any that may be bad. Gill's said they will check all the parts after disassembly. It's a 4 hour job to disassemble the top of the engine. After installing a new timing chain and tensioner, Gill's said they had checked everything, and all was ok. I picked up the car and it was better, but I basically had the same hard starting problem and clackety noise as before. Not wanting to wait 2 more weeks for them to look at it, I took the car to another shop. The second shop found what Gill's missed: a bad intake sprocket. Gill's had said, after the repair, that the sprockets, naming them specifically, were ok. The noise is now gone and my engine runs great.

Updated review…read more... PHENOMENAL is an understatement regarding what this shop does! Limped a 2011 F350 DRW in and left with a ROARING MONSTER..... Brake Work completed sure tames all that power and is spectacular.... Finding and replacing a BAD front knuckle now has me able to use a finger to change lanes out on the interstate as I pass Priuses...... Finding/fixing the vacuum leaks made the Turbo come alive..... Truck spent a lot of time sitting awaiting PARTS.... Then got scheduled back into the mechanics in a very timely and expedient manner when all of them finally showed up.... Having, Zach, the owner tell me he would drive my truck anywhere was reassuring and good news.... Shortly after extensive repairs bringing my truck back to life it threw a check engine light that I called about and Zach was reading the codes on within HOURS..... Scheduling the new repair need was done to await parts and it took less than an hour to replace the sticking thermostat...... UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE IN THIS SHOP.... This is the ONLY place I will go to for PM and CM moving forward! Yeah, they are SUPER BUSY and you're not likely to get same day service.... BUT, That just shows you how good they really are to be that busy....
