I live in Chicago, but visited Allison's store after winning a dress giveaway. I could not have asked for a better shopping experience. I changed my mind about nine times on what dresses I wanted the bridesmaids to wear and visited a LOT of stores (mostly in Chicago) during the process. From start to finish, my experience with Allison was superb. I took my mom and wedding planner (whom I would also HIGHLY recommend - Luke Wilson!) to try on dresses. Allison was knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun, but the thing I appreciated most about her was her honesty. I hate when you are shopping and the people at the store keep telling you you look good. Allison gave her honest opinion on what styles looked good and which would look good on my lady friends' various shapes. Bella also had a fabulous selection of dresses. Everything that I had seen or tried on in other stores (from Monique Lhuillier's boutique in Hollywood to Nordstrom to other Bellas) was in the Charleston store. Throughout the ordering process, Allison was extremely helpful and answered everyone's questions about sizing and styles. We placed our order yesterday and are looking forward to getting the dresses in August!! I would recommend working with Allison and the Charleston Bella Bridesmaid store to anyone! read more

I scheduled an appointment at Bella Bridesmaids in Charleston, but the experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, they did not have any dresses from the bride's showroom available for me to try on. Instead, I was asked to try on dresses that were nearly ten sizes too large. After that, they asked if I was ready to order my dress. They took my measurements and told me I was an XS. I selected a dress, but when it arrived, it was about three sizes too big. When I raised my concerns, their response was that "all dresses need alterations" and that it was a slip dress. While I understood that alterations would be needed for length, the issues went far beyond that. The built-in undergarment, which typically extends past the hip or butt area, stopped at the top of my rib cage. Because of this, the line of the fabric is clearly visible through the front of the dress. This is a design and sizing issue, not a minor alteration. Despite expressing these concerns, Bella Bridesmaids continued to dismiss them by repeating that all dresses require alterations, which was frustrating and unhelpful given the extent of the problems. read more

Around August of 2024, I was professionally measured in-store for a bridesmaid dress and ordered my size based entirely on the measurements the stylist provided. When the dress arrived, it was significantly too small. I measured the dress myself and compared it to the designer's size chart, and the inches matched a size 00 despite the tag saying size 0. When I contacted the shop, I was told, "Oh, bodies change, especially at your age!" I'm 25, and my measurements have not changed. The problem wasn't my body, it was that the bust measurement recorded in-store was simply not accurate. The measurement they documented (31.5") was several inches smaller than my actual bust size then and now (33.5-34"). That discrepancy is exactly why the dress did not zip. What bothered me even more was the response. Instead of acknowledging the possibility of an error, the blame was placed on me. I was offered "solutions" that required me to spend more money on top of the $500 I had already paid for the dress, such as buying a new gown at their wholesale price ($250) or paying for additional fabric. None of these options accounted for the fact that the issue originated with the fitting, not with me. Because the wedding was approaching, I ended up paying an additional $210 to a separate tailor to add panels so the dress would fit. It was stressful, expensive, and honestly embarrassing to be told the problem was my body rather than the incorrect measurement that started all of this. UPDATE; I heard from the manager, but even then, the store continued to stand by their paperwork instead of acknowledging what actually happened. I'm not seeking a refund or a new dress (the wedding was a year ago), but I am sharing this so other customers know what to expect. My experience was frustrating, dismissive, and lacked accountability. I would be cautious before spending money here. read more

I am so disappointed with the customer service received here. They charged me extra for extra fabric (long or tall), knowing it was to be hemmed off anyways. They also sent my order to a different Bella Bridesmaids and made ME PAY TO HAVE IT MAILED TO MY HOUSE after THEIR MISTAKE of having it shipped to the CT location. RIP OFF!!! Do not go here! I've had two great experiences here as three of my friends elected to get their bridesmaids dresses for their wedding through Bella. When I go in I can see why they did from the gorgeous options lined up all around on the hanging racks. The stylists made me feel comfortable as they sized me for a dress and the stylists were extremely personable, making natural conversation. It didn't hurt that one of them also had a frenchie puppy one time I went. Ordering the dresses online once sized was easy and I was notified promptly when the dresses were shipped or ready for pickup. The shipping was a little lofty price wise on top of dress pricing, but more convenient than driving to where the brides live to their Bella locations. It would be ideal if Bella could figure out how to get dresses to the places bridesmaids are sized rather than the bride's home store since bridesmaids can live all over the place. All that said, I will definitely consider Bella when it's my turn to organize a wedding! read more

Wonderful customer service... Once you're in the store. I tried to call about 15 times during various hours and different days my sister had called left a voicemail and they got back to her the next day. I can totally understand if they are busy and can't get to the phone but make it an option to email or schedule online. Google maps had the wrong address and I couldn't find the store and tried to call and they of course didn't answer. I figured it out. When I got to the store it was clean, bright, pretty, the sales lady was extremely kind and helpful even though I was grouchy after all the calling. Although they didn't have any of the styles I was asked to try by the bride she did offer alternatives and sized me and helped me place the order for my dress. Everything was great with the exception of the calling/scheduling. read more

Bella Bridesmaids has provided one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a retailer. They are completely inflexible and do not work the bride or the bridesmaids to make it a pleasant, stress-free experience. They are not willing to work with you to solve any ordering issues that have arisen or make any changes when out of necessity. The staff provides bad advice on ordering and sizing for those who cannot make it into the store and consistently repeat themselves on the phone with excuses instead of being an aid to their clients and attempting to problem solve. Allison took great care of me and I actually decided to go with another color, which she helped pick out. I can't say enough wonderful things about Allison + Natalie at Bella Bridesmaids! They made the entire process easy, fun, and completely stress-free not only for myself but also for my bridesmaids! As one of the first of my friends to get married, I honestly didn't know what to expect the first time I arrived at the shop, but Allison made me feel right at home and was extremely helpful sorting through all of the dresses. She has a wonderful selection of dresses to fit all styles and personalities. Together we narrowed it down to a few styles and I brought all my bridesmaids back a week later so everyone could try on the dresses and compare which one was most flattering for all. This place has the worst customer service. I called multiple times and got no answers, left a voicemail and it was returned asking me to call to book an appointment... hello, that's what I was trying to do. Finally found an email address and it was like pulling teeth to book an appointment. It was a round of 20 questions with the final answer being if the bride wasn't registered with them there wasn't much they could do and I could pay $20 to try on the dresses. Who charges to try on dresses?! I don't understand how they can feel good about running a business like this. read more

Worse place I've ever been to. I called ahead and left a voice-mail which was never returned. Finally got a hold of someone and they told me they don't allow people to try on clothes there unless the bride is registered. I explained that the bride was in NJ and had registered there, they are the only place to carry Amsale in the state. She said she guessed she could break the rules, for me to arrive with 5 dresses I wanted to try and I'd have 15 minutes. When I arrived she asked for my styles, she pulled four of them and I asked about the fifth, her response was "honey that's not for you." Very rude. She set me up to try on dresses in a corner "fitting room" aka curtain hung in the corner. No one ever checked on me or asked how things were. I had to find them when I picked a style. They then measured me, the dress size they suggested was 4 inches too big when it arrived in the mail. Also while I was there a girl came in with her mother to look for a mother of the bride dress and possibly bridesmaids dresses. They asked if she had an appointment, the bride to be said no, after which they told her to write her name down and they would call her if a time opened up today. The shop was completely empty. Very rude, would suggest people going anywhere else possible. If they weren't the only place with Amsale in Charleston, I never would have gone after just the phone call. read more

I came in on a very short-noticed appointment to look for bridesmaids dresses. They have a wonderful variety of all kinds of dresses, style, and color. All the girls that worked there were extremely sweet and so helpful! They understood what a short timeframe I had to plan my wedding and did everything to accommodate us! I arrived without an appointment because they were closed when I tried to call/schedule. When I explained that my daughter has an appointment at another location next week, they could have not been more interested to the point of being rude and making me feel uncomfortable. Alex was welcoming, but the other sales associate, upon realizing there would be no sale/commission, was rude. The manager was so rude to me on the phone when I called to asked when my dress would be shipped to me. The wedding i will be attending is only 1 month away and i needed alterations on the dress so I was getting very concerned. I explained that the bride was registered there but I was across the country. She snapped at me and acted as if I had been an inconvenience to her. Bella Bridesmaids in Charleston is the perfect place to find your bridesmaids attire. They have tons of dress options and colors for you to choose from and touch/feel in person. Alex, Lissie, and Allison were a huge help and gave great feedback and advice when trying to narrow it down since they have so many wonderful options! Since most of my bridesmaids were located all over the country, Bella Bridesmaids made it so easy for all of my girls to find a location near them to try on and purchase. If I could give 0 stars I would. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had. They gave me the wrong size to order and when the dress came it was way too small. They have NO RETURN policy even though it was their fault that the dress didn't fit. They said they would try to find another dress somewhere and I left my dress at their store and they will not return my calls or emails now. I plan on canceling the charge on my amex for the dress and getting the SAME dress from nordsrom's that fits. The return policy is actually appalling considering that they make you order the dress almost a year in advance while most girls ordering them are around the age of having babies and/or fluctuating weight. Totally insane that there are so many of these stores in business and due to the crazy return/exchange policy. read more
