I came to Bridal's by Jodi with a friend looking for THE DRESS. This was not our first boutique visit so I was able to compare with other experiences in town. Overall I felt like the dress selection is remarkable and unique. Lots of options to try on and the consultant knew what she was doing to recommend styles and options. She was extremely knowledgeable and to the point. On the other hand, it felt rushed, which is understandable because they book appointments every 30 minutes or so, and there were three groups at the same time as us and some people waiting for their turn so we had to be in and out quick to respect their time., I kind of enjoy other places where you are offered some bubbly, or similar , no drinks offered here, which again, is not a big deal, just something that I expected since I have been spoiled at other boutiques. Also, the consultant was kind of cagey when we asked questions about prices and instead just wrote down the prices for the bride secretly which seemed weird, not sure why this information would be so sensitive to share with the group. Might be the proper and polite way , but it felt weird compared to other places that were a bit more transparent. Best Dress selection so all the other little nits are irrelevant. read more

I went to Bridals by Jodi as my first stop for wedding dress shopping, and it ended up being my only stop. I didn't know exactly what I wanted apart from lace and non-strapless. I was able to try on many dresses and finally found the one I loved: Allure Bridals style 9609. The dress was $2250, but I was able to purchase one off the rack for 40% off. I took it to Nadya D in Mt. Pleasant for alterations. I also picked up a veil at Bridals by Jodi which complemented my dress well. I had my bridal appointment this past weekend with Lydia. We hit it off immediately and within a few minutes, she was able to narrow down my style and what I was looking for in a wedding dress. Conveniently located beside Mex 1 to fight off any hangar situations. Jodi's was awesome! My attendant met with us and told my party and I to look around and let her know if we saw anything I should try on. She pulled soooo many dresses for me to try on without complaint. She also stuck to dresses within my budget ($1000) that she pulled for me to try on. She was also upfront with me about things I was trying on (it was over budget, it didn't have lace that I wanted, etc), it was a very good experience. When I went back the following day to order my dress (after trying on dresses at a few other places), they were happy to let me put the dress back on and see how it would look with particular accessories (colored sash, no veil, etc). I said yes to the dress AND it was under budget. #win read more

The best bridal place in the city. I was in from out of town helping a friend find her wedding dress. Many other places were pushy, snobby, or crowded. This place was awesome. She tried on a ton of dresses, came back to show her mom, and they remembered everything from the visit. The staff were knowledgeable about order times and dates, unlike some of the other shops, who gave wishy washy answers. I'm used to being talked down to in dress shops, because I don't have 5K. Not here! They valued our under $500 purchase just as much as the woman buying a very pricy (and beautiful) dress. Don't waste your time at other places. My best friend and I went on our very first outing to try on wedding dresses while we were out of town in Charleston. I made an appointment with the shop and they were very conscientious about following up with me regarding the appointment. When we arrived they were ready to start our consultation. Brittany was the young lady who helped us and she was really a JOY to work with. Fun and helpful. We were basically by ourselves for most of our experience but even as they started to get a little busier. I never felt like the focus wasn't on my bride. They were definitely not pushy like the other reviews said. Brittany made some great choices and gave helpful guidance on trying on the dresses. My only complaint would be the store probably needs a little internal facelift to make it look a little nicer on the inside - in the dressing room and organization of the racks but overall we had such a fantastic experience and the prices were great. Bridals by Jodi is the best place to shop for your wedding gown. I purchased my gown in February 2018. Katie and Rachel were so friendly and helpful from start to finish. Unfortunately, this was not an ideal wedding dress shopping experience. The appointment before me was running late, but I do not fault the shop for that. Everyone was very apologetic. The only question the consultant asked me when I arrived was, "What do you have in mind?" I showed her some photos on my Pinterest board and that was the end of the discussion. She never asked my size or budget. She never pulled any dresses for me, my group and I did all of that. And she never told me that dresses on silver hangers are sold "as is," size and condition. This was disappointing because I had three dresses in the fitting room on silver hangers. The consultant rushed me between dresses and never offered to put anything back on the hangers. She did not use any clips or accessories to help me have a better idea of how the dresses would fit. The most disappointing part of the entire appointment was the tiny sample sizes. Knowing that bridal sizing is much different normal clothing, it seems logical to order larger samples that more brides can fit. Sample sizes 6-8 make it impossible for anyone larger than a normal 8 to have an idea of how a dress will fit. It leaves a curvy bride feeling incredibly self conscious and frustrated on what it supposed to be one of the happiest days of her entire wedding process. read more

I had the best experience with BBJ. First, it was the only bridal store I went to but the gown I chose was the first gown I put on. Betsy did an amazing job helping me find a two piece gown, which is what I wanted. To make things even better, the top of my dress was on sale so I was able to get my gown for a very reasonable price and way below what I was expecting to spend. Now for the most interesting part. I had bridal portraits taken in March before my wedding April 22. After the portraits, I took the dress to get dry cleaned and the dry cleaners burned down in an unfortunate fire. My dress no longer existed 2 weeks before my wedding. I tried not to freak out and called BBJ to tell them the news. Within 2 hours, they had landed me the same exact one in my size and had it rushed shipped to them. Then, they arranged for alterations to be rushed as well. I didn't have to pay them a dime nor did I have to deal with the headache of choosing another dress. Thank y'all for being so helpful!! I would your store recommend to anyone. After a few disappointing experiences in Savannah & statesboro. I contacted Jodi's to see if they had a dress I had seen online to try on. They did and held it for me until I arrived. Brittany was amazing. Great spirit about her. She had me try on 4 dresses prior to trying on the one I called about. All were beautiful dresses & she was even honest when one didnt look great. haha. Which I realllllly appreciate. Luckily when I tried on the dress... it was THE DRESS. Good price ($1k) but looks like 10x more expensive. She really made the appointment enjoyable. Getting nervous with me and my 2 guests when it was time to try on the dress- and celebrating with us when it was perfect. I ordered my dress and it came in a timely fashion- and I was notified immediately. My poor daughter has had fitting after fitting and has been told the same thing over and over...our seamstress can work miracles. Every repeated visit the dress was worse! It is now 8 days until the wedding and the dress is far from what my daughter has dreamed of and it is their fault!! If you are going to be responsible for wedding dresses then HIRE COMPETENT seamstresses to do the alterations. I am so disappointed and will be demanding my money back! Every last cent! Then the hunt to find the perfect dress AGAIN in just a few short days! As if we have nothing else to do with our time!! Jodi of "White on Daniel Island" also owns this North Charleston store. White on Daniel Island is the more high end version. I was beyond impressed with Bridals by Jodi. My dress budget was a good bit higher than the dresses in Bridals by Jodi, but Jodi sent me there anyways after I visited White (Jodi wants you to be happy in your dress and is not pushing you to buy the dress at the high end of your budget). Prices at Bridals by Jodi were probably similar to David's Bridal (around $800-2k) but the dresses I tried on were all beautiful and looked SO much more expensive than the price tag (which I think is unusual). Unfortunately typically once you get into the $800-2k budget, dresses can be stark white or just look cheap. This was NOT the case with Bridals by Jodi- majority of dresses were ivory (you had option of other colors). I have a girlfriend who is on a major wedding budget so I sent her up here. Also, unlike a lot of Charleston stores, this store had a TON of variety in terms of fabric (lace, tulle, beaded, etc.) and in style (sleeves, strapless, etc.) I highly recommend this store to anyone who is on a tight dress budget; otherwise check out White which is still really reasonable with a great sale rack. They are my top two stores in Charleston for those two price ranges (and I went to five stores on Saturday, two on Sunday, and two on Monday). read more

I had a specific dress in mind for my wedding. No other salon had this dress, but Bridals by Jodi had it featured in one of their trunk shows. I had to custom order the dress and the process was super easy. They did everything and kept me informed of when it was ordered to when it came in. The staff there are absolutely wonderful. They are personable, friendly, and want every bride, bridesmaid, or mother of the bride to have the best experience possible. I also got my bridesmaid dresses from them. Even though I had a little hesitation about the color of the dresses when they came in, they were perfect. They also have a seamstress that works with them so that took some of the stress off of me to find a seamstress for my dress alterations. I would recommend this bridal salon to anyone looking for a wedding, bridesmaid, flower girl, or mother of the bride dress. read more

My friend is getting married at the end of the month and chose this boutique because they had the dress she wanted. Well, they ordered a different dress, didn't tell her and she had no idea until she went to pick up the dress and it looked nothing like the one she ordered. so you're thining they offered a discount right? Wrong, no concessions at all. My other friend is a bridesmaid and also got her dress here. she's a size 6, they wanted to order her a size 8, and said she really needed a size 10 (extra money for alterations to trump up the cost of the dress). She told them she was not a size 8 and would be losing weight over the summer and easilly fit a six. When the dress comes in, it's an 8. Again no concessions were made, and they said the 8 was signed off on (have yet to show the paperwork where it was supposedly signed off on). Apparently Jodi no longer is affiliated with the store, and it has gone way down hill. No customer service. Stay away unless you love nightmare weddings and extra drama. read more

I pass Bridals by Jodi all the time and was excited to go. I had an appointment after work on Friday, so maybe this is why, but I was very disappointed. The consultant didn't ask my price point, style of dress, or anything at all and let me wander the store alone. She disappeared and I actually had to pull the dresses I wanted myself without knowing the price. What a waste of time! All the consultant did was pin me into the dress, otherwise she was no help. Dresses were very dirty as well. I went to 3 other bridal stores in town and would recommend any of them over Bridals by Jodi. I did find a dress there I liked, but decided I wouldn't go back and be treated like that so I bought a dress elsewhere. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Bridals By Jodi. It was the first shop I visited,and the shop was very quaint and clean and the service was phenomenal. The fitting rooms are spacious and the shop is so pretty! You feel very special walking in and the gown selection is very diverse and fits a variety of budgets. My budget was small, and I was able to walk out with a gown that day (the sample fit me absolutely perfectly!). My consultant was very paitient and helpful and made sure that I always felt comfortable and that I focused on what I wanted in my wedding dress. My cousin and I walked into this establishment and the manager I guess and an employee was sitting at the front desk looking down, didnt even greet us when we walked in...the lady first words were "we are booked today to try on dresses" first off if she greeted us at the door and asked what we need help with today she would have known that I wasn't their to try on wedding dress but was there to look at bridesmaid dresses! THIS IS THE WORST BRIDAL SHOP EVER!!!!!! They have ZERO customer service and professionalism. I don't think I have EVER dealt with any business worse than this place. To follow up on my previous review; the dresses that Bridals by Jodi incorrectly ordered and had to reorder came in on 30-MAR-11 (wedding is in SC on 16-APR - I live in VA). The shop would not ship the dresses until final payment was made on one of the dresses. I called to make payment as this was a "RUSH" and was told that they "did not have time to take a payment". I did finally pay and the dresses were promised, months prior, to be overnighted to me. We called the shop several times when the dresses hadn't arrived and asked for a tracking number. We were told for an entire day that they "could not give a tracking number bc they didn't have access to that information." We finally JUST got a tracking number from the shop and the dresses were shipped 2 day vs overnight. This shop was and is not willing to compensate for their mistake, AT ALL. The "sales associates" are not knowledgeable, lack customer service skills, and have absolutely no professionalism at all. read more
