This is the store for a beautiful selection and a wonderful owner who treats her customers as she would family! In fact, I am now family! From the moment I walked in the door, a friendly voice immediately asked how I was doing! (I had not heard that in the other stores I went to). It turned out to be Frances the owner of the store. I felt so much better that she had so many dresses in multiple styles and sizes. Other stores wanted me to look through a catalogue and pick a style then get measured... No trying on!! So without an appointment and on a Saturday, I asked if I should make an appointment. She could sense the fear and trepidation I had about this endeavor. Frances said that I can browse and take as much time as I wanted, maybe try a couple on and see if there was a style or a fit that I preferred. I was almost dumbfounded by her friendliness. Other stores I had been to were only willing to "make an appointment weeks from now". I took a couple that looked like nice, pretty dresses, and so I tried one on. It looked good, had some nice lace but then it happened.... As I was heading back to the dressing room I saw the most beautiful lace and beaded dress. There was no way that it would fit so I did not get my hopes up. Frances saw the glimmer in my eyes upon spotting that dress and said, "please, try this one on". She put it into the room and amazingly, this dress went on and I walked out looking like a princess. I have never been so happy and upon looking at myself in the mirror, I started to get misty eyed. I looked again, and the only thing I could think of is my fiancé standing on the beach watching me walk to him in this dress. The tears started rolling. We are separated 10 months out of the year and met in a war zone. I could only think of this dress as being the most incredible way to show him how much he means to me and to be married in the one which signifies our future together. I could barely talk so Frances asked if this may be the dress? I nodded since I could not really get the words out. She too then started to get misty. That is the experience that I had an Condon's bridal. And now, two fittings later with her wonderful seamstress Nelly (a miracle worker) and in one week, I will be walking down the aisle on a white sand beach to the man of my dreams! After having a TERRIBLE experience at another bridal shop earlier in the day, I went to Condon's. Not only did they allow me to come earlier than my scheduled appointment time, they were very friendly & helpful. It made up for my earlier experience by leaps & bounds. Both ladies (1 of which was the owner) were nice & willing to help in any way possible. I found my dress much easier than I expected. We even choose bridemaids dresses, but then found out they had been discontinued. BUT...Frances made some calls & tracked one down, so we got them!! I did not end up purchasing my dress from here, but Frances was SO sweet and helpful and I think the family history of the shop is wonderful. Large selection of Alfred Angelo dresses if you are looking, and very helpful without being pushy as some shops can be. I went to multiple bridal boutiques and others will make you feel pressured into your decision and do not have the quality or the personal touch from the owner that you will get from Frances at Condon's. I am one of nine bridesmaids for a local Charleston bride. Last November, in the initial stages of dress searching for all of us, we happened upon Condon's because the range of choices were much better than options like David's Bridal. We ended up with 3 different dresses, and were told the dresses should be ordered by February for an early October wedding. -My personal experience with trying to make my deposit over the phone was like pulling teeth. She was forgetful and scatter brained, I was told she would call me back shortly, and had to call 3 times throughout the day before she even answered the phone again.- With a few forgetful bridesmaids, we had all nine deposits placed by April, and was assured they would be promptly ordered, and told they would arrive by the end of July. So of course the dresses don't arrive until mid-August, at which time this woman decides to tell us one of the deposits never went through, INSTEAD OF AT THE TIME WHEN THE DEPOSIT WAS DECLINED. On top of that, she mixed up measurements and ordered the wrong dresses for 2 bridesmaids. With several out-of-towners in the wedding party, this caused the bride to have to drive all the way to Columbia to switch the wrongly ordered dresses, so that they would at least still be wearable by wedding day if heavily altered. It occurred to me to bring this to the attention of the owner, however, I recommended the bride not put ANY of our dresses back in her wretched hands, because better safe than sorry. The dress selection is better, but ladies, you do NOT want the laziness and her lack of accountability and personal responsibility to be another chore on top of your already long wedding check lists. My bride is LIVID and wants nothing to do with this woman. I'd also like to add that there were SEVERAL other negative reviews about this awful woman, but they seem to keep getting deleted and/or filtered. GOOD THING I'VE COPIED MY ENTRY SO I CAN REPOST IT EVERY TIME IT GETS TAKEN DOWN. Do yourselves a favor, steer clear of this place, do not put your wedding in her terrible hands. read more

This was such a nice experience! I was able to browse at my leisure and pick out as many dresses as my heart desired. I had purchased a dress here 11yrs ago and was hesitant to go back thinking would be weird to buy my 2nd dress there again. However, Francis was such a joy and made me feel so welcome! By the end of my time trying on dresses, I found "the one" and Francis was so interested in my wedding and my story that we hugged at the end of my appointment. That's customer service!! read more

Mrs. Frances made me feel like I was the only Bride in Charleston. I also got my alterations done here and everything fit perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience. I went here to get an Alfred Angelo dress. The service upon arrival was poor, but they had the selection I was looking for. I purchased my dress and waited for it to arrive as specified. I called a month ahead of scheduled arrival to confirm that the dress would be there and was told that it would. I am from out of state, so I booked a flight. The day the dress was to arrive I called to make an appointment and was told that the dress would be 3 weeks late. No soloution was offered from the boutique and she referred me to Alfred Angelo customer service. Nothing could be done. I wasted a plane ticket for nothing and could not have my fitting done in a timely manner. The lady from the boutique still did not EVER call me to communicate anything. I called last week to ask that the dress be mailed to my house and she agreed. I still heard nothing from her. Again, I called today and she said she was "busy" and would "call me right back". I called her back 2 hours later and she said that she mailed the dress. I asked for a confirmaiton number and was told that the post office did not provide her with one. She said that she would call me later today with a tracking number. It is 5:40pm.....no call. I have no idea where my dress is or if it has even been mailed. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I highly suggest you find another place to dress shop. A dress is so important, and my experience with this shop has been terrible! read more
