I was experiencing a bad hair week (LOL), and decided to go to their website to book a same day appointment. Booking online was very easy, and it requires you to enter credit card information to hold appointment. It also gives you options of picking between multiple of stylists. The stylist I selected was Ty. I was able to view her work online as well. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, which I found very welcoming. Wait time was under five minutes, which I was definitely surprised. I'm an before time/ on time kind of person, so I was extremely happy to receive service at my given appointment time. Ty was very nice and knowledgeable. She made sure I was comfortable in every aspect as possible. I enjoy getting my hair washed, and she didn't disappoint. I was satisfied with the results. Even though I found it quite expensive for a silk press ($75 wowwww!), I did appreciate the fast service. I would definitely visit this place again.

My hair is course and brittle. I have to take really good care of my hair. It took years after radiation to grow my hair back. We moved here because my husband got a job with Fedex. I've been around the US and experienced many hair salons. I went to see Gracie. She is super sweet. I told her the issues with my hair and she promised to take care of me. I got a couple of rows of highlights and then low lights over the rest of my hair. She gave me a "collagen treatment" that was supposed to help keep my hair from breaking. I paid $280 for all the "special treatments" to keep my hair in good condition. I've never paid that much for my hair....even living in CA. Gracie straightened my naturally curly hair, and I went home and washed my hair a couple days later. To my horror, I noticed a TON of breakage ALL OVER MY HAIR. I started crying and called Ella David Salon. They promised to have Gracie call me. Gracie text me back and I sent her pictures of what happened. She felt bad and was very nice. But there was nothing she could do but offer another "hair treatment". I didn't want my hair further ruined so I declined. I called again to talk to the owner about what happened. I left 3 messages. Finally I got upset and told the salon I needed the owner to call me back ASAP. Finally after a week, the owner got back to me. I explained the situation to her and explained how her products ruined my hair. The owner was SO apathetic and rude. She did not care AT ALL that her products ruined my hair I worked years to grow after cancer. She said they could "cut my hair and give my a free conditioner". ARE YOU KIDDING??? I paid $280 for you to ruin my hair and you tell me to get a hair cut??? I was crying on the phone to the owner and she blatantly told me there was nothing she could do and it wasn't her fault. My haircut was good but 30 mins into it, Cathy walked up to me, and said I am still waiting. As she inquired to the rude receptionist, "what do you want", she said "oh both of you we missed that" and called a no show. Front desk granny's gave no apology to her at the time or to me while inquiring as I paid the bill. Bottom line granny's front desk have an attitude and that will not bring me back. WARNING DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE NATURAL HAIR!!!…read more I honestly did not even want to,give this salon one star, but I have to put a rating. If Yelp allowed it, I would put a fourth of a star. Billy is a terrible stylist, who should just admit he can't handle natural hair, but was too greedy for the money to do this. Firstly, I should have known better because everyone had permed hair and one person was getting a perm as I was sitting there. Billy the stylist seemed nice and I had gone there four years earlier, but I came with my hair already blown out and just had him to flat iron it. This time I had my hair blown out but he took me to the bowl to wash my hair, something that I thought might be a good idea because I assumed that he would condition my hair pretty well afterwards. However, after he washed my hair twice, he only put conditioner on my roots and then put me under the dryer. After I came out my hair was a dry tangled mess. He then proceeded to blow dry my hair with a paddle brush tugging at it roughly. When he finished with the brush, he proceeded to use a fine tooth comb and comb through it. Again he was yanking my hair berating me for not allowing him to cut my hair as he wanted to ( he kept saying I needed a trim and even was bold enough to to tell my Aunt and mother that he would MAKE me trim my hair) purposely damaging it to the point that he wanted to cut. He then roughly ran a hot comb through my hair yanking it through as well. At the end he tried to disguise the damage by lightly bumping the ends under but it was very obvious that it was severely damaged and the ends were strings. To make matters worse he didn't use a leave-in conditioner before he blow dried my hair and neither a heat protectant before he began to flat iron. As a natural person we work very hard on our hair and to have someone to purposely damage your hair just to make a point is frustrating, heartbreaking, and infuriating. I had to put Shea butter in my hair to keep it from frizzing up because of the extreme lack of moisture and damage created by the passive aggressive stylist. However, I didn't let him ruin my weekend and enjoyed my brother's med school graduation and my cousin's high school graduation. And I will go back to Chicago and enjoy my beautiful life there and my budding legal career. Billy you don't win, in fact thank you because now I will be using my Olaplex every week instead of once a month. Can't wait to see how much more will my hair will thrive in the future.

But, I found the people to be down-to-earth and the conversation to be pleasant.

He seemed like he wasn't sure about it entirely but I trusted him. After directing him as to what a high fade was multiple times I said I wanted the other, more competent woman to cut my hair. He glowered at me and said in a confrontational tone: "if you wanted a free haircut, you should have just said so" So I was offended and getting a bad haircut.
