Sorry I didn't make my bed for the photo! : )
    Heidi-Jane S.

This was the most lovely hotel experience ever - I was so completely happy with my stay. Here are a few reasons why: - The room was gorgeous - like an Italian villa. - The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. - The temperature was perfect in the room. - I slept like a log - I am such a light sleeper but there wasn't any noise to wake me up - it was wonderful and peaceful. - They have Peet's Coffee and real half and half - you can even make yourself a cappuccino in the room if you want to! - The bathroom tile was HEATED - OMG, what a delight! - I loved that the shower curtain bar was curved which made the shower very roomy and I loved that there was a shelf for your belongings that was at the perfect level while you are standing in the shower. - I loved too that the night stands by the bed had plenty of plugs - no hunting around the floor or behind walls for them! - The gentleman at the front desk (Ben?) could not have been kinder - he pointed out to us all the local points of interest and was very welcoming. - The Windmill Cafe just steps from the hotel has the most DELICIOUS breakfast ever - and they have gluten-free waffles that are out of this world!! - The room was spotless. - The chaise lounge was luxurious - I stared up at the beautiful chandelier and enjoyed my vacation. Thank you Bella Notte!!

I stayed here for a couple of days to get outta sac and go shopping for a kayak and a paddle board. For a small hotel this place is luxurious with a capital L. They even got heated marble floors yO! They are a little on the pricey side however sometimes you have to pay extra for the creature comforts. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is staying in Santa Cruz and doesn't want all the traffic that comes with large hotels.

My boyfriend and I had a little getaway and I booked a room 2 weeks ago. I was very impressed. The room is huge! They supply you with two robes, extra pillows and a walk in closet! It had a huge bathroom and shower as well! This is by far the best hotel I stayed in in Santa Cruz and at an affordable decent price. Oh it had a fireplace and a wet bar as well. The service was great and the older gentlemen at the front desk was very helpful with restaurants and site seeing. I would totally recommend this place to anyone. It was very close to everything and it had Free Wi-Fi too haha.

Absolutely beautiful place. We booked a room, last minute mind you, for two nights, Carol was very helpful. Because we waited until the last minute, we were only able to stay one night instead because our dogsitting plans fell through and we did not want to leave my pet alone, especially on the fourth of July (loud fireworks). Anyway, they changed our reservations to one night and did not charge us for the extra night, which they did not have to do. Luckily it was the fourth of July and they were able to book our room. It is a quaint place and very clean. Our room had, heated bathroom floors, fridge, wet bar, IPod dock, flat screen with Directv, and a walk in closet w/a safe. They provided breakfast which included, bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, toast, english muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit and granola and more. Twin Lakes beach is within walking distance. This will definitely be our go to place in Santa Cruz.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE! I stayed here for one night, saturday of memorial day weekend. As I arrived, I was greeted in a friendly matter. I asked the front desk person, for reccommandations on where to eat and what's the must see in santa cruz. He was super helpful. As I entered my room, I loved everything abt it especially the heated floors in the restroom! The bed was comfy. The room was pretty huge. Good closet space! There are tons of storage compartments to put ur stuff in! A refridgerator with 2 FREE bottle waters! and free wi-fi! I'm most def staying here again!

I highly recommend the second floor rooms. You can still see the view from the first, but they have plants growing up over the fence so it is harder to have the full view. They serve fresh cookies, breakfast in the morning, and always have tea, water, and coffee in the office. It's nice and cozy in there with a couple tables to enjoy your food or drink. There are also tables outside. Unfortunately they do not have a spa or pool. They do have some rooms with a spa tub. Our room was on the smaller size. There are no air conditioners in the room. In the closet was a fan and a space heater. We had our window open at night for the fresh ocean breeze and that kept Us cool enough for an August evening. We had a mini fridge, microwave, and safe in another closet. No coffee maker or complimentary water in the room. That is all located in the office. The bathroom was a great size for two of us. It was stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and soap. I don't recall seeing a blow dryer. The bed was ok. Not uncomfortable, but not comfortable. Location is great. The pier and boardwalk are all walking distance. Lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is on a cliff so there is not direct access to the beach. You do need to walk a little bit down the street to gain access, but it is a very short walk. I highly recommend staying here. I can not wait to go back.

Yes, you get breakfast, a cookie and wine if you want it but I think it's to distract you from how much money you are paying for a tiny little room. Definitely a lovely view - no question - but is it worth $500? Not to me.

You can't miss this restored white Italian Revival beauty with a commanding view of the Giant Dipper and the neon glitz of the Beach Boardwalk. Once inside you'll be struck by the high ceilings and windows, clean lines, tasteful color palettes, and spotless housekeeping. We stayed in the ADA room on the ground floor, but I still walked to the top of the stairs just to see the stained glass dome over the ceiling over the stairway. Stunning! The room was not enormous but it was efficient and comfortable and met my mobility needs. Loved the walk in shower with a shower chair. Body wash and shampoo/conditioner are all provided and smelled great. The gas fireplace in the room was welcome as it was still chilly in April. As for hospitality, checking in was quick and friendly. The front desk clerk at check-in was courteous and all smiles. Check-out front desk attendant wasn't the warmest, but nothing that would put me off a return. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese/cracker hour at 430pm and the hot breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and filling. We had it arranged in advance for in room dining and it was great! If I were to drum up a single critique of this visit it would be that the parking area is tight and requires some care to navigate. The location caught our attention, the balcony solidified our stay. Unfortunately our balcony overlooks the rear, looking at the parking lot toward the boardwalk. Regardless, our daughter was overjoyed to be able to sit on it and look toward the rides after the park closed. If your reservation is purchased directly through Carousel's site, you can select a Boardwalk view for a little extra. With the location, we were able to not worry about where to park or the transition between beach and play. We started each day at the beach, returned to the room sandy and wet, showered and changed, then headed over for the rides. The TV sucks! Icons continue to appear randomly and frequently while watching a show. We tried to turn off the feature unsuccessfully. The channels are gravely limited and there are no smart app features to connect personal accounts. The stand of the TV was adjustable from left to right, convenient once our little one fell asleep as to lessen the light on her. Free breakfast was a selection of carbs that included bagels, toast, waffles, instant oatmeal, cereal, cream cheese and a protein option of boiled eggs. The fridge was spacious, allowing all our items to fit. We brought lots of fruit and food options for our little one to graze. The microwave was spacious and clean. There were coffee and tea options in room with powder creamer. The liquid creamer was reserved for the lobby. Not ideal. The interior of the room was clean, the bedding comfortable and the bathroom stocked and mostly cared for. The paint on the wall of the bathroom was peeled in a small spot near the toilet bowl and the lower screen of the balcony was disconnected from the sliding door. Spoke to a few different people at the front desk who were helpful, but unfortunately, the people at the front desk could not reverse the charges or credit me back. I was informed by the front desk that I needed to speak to the manager. I was transferred to the manager numerous times and the manager did not answer and the manager did not return any of my calls. I left a few voicemails regarding the issue along with my phone number, but the manager never called back. I also left messages with the front desk to have the manager reach out to me regarding these charges, and the manager never called back. I don't know who the manager is at this hotel, but it is extremely unprofessional not to return customers calls regarding charges or issues. I had to take up the issue with my credit card and submitted all my proof to my credit card so I could get the money back. Thankfully, my credit card was able to return the funds.
