This was not a cheap place so I didn't get the neglect. The place needs a little TLC. It's a little dirty. The sign outside is not on. The place is not easy to find at night. They take a hundred dollar deposit right away when you check in. You get it back in about three days. That's a bit unusual I thought. The rooms are average. There is no clock in the rooms. My room smelled bad I can't and didn't want to think of what I was smelling. The bathroom fan was really loud too. The TV worked well and there is plugs for you to put your phone charger. The Wifi works really good. The grounds looked o.k. We did arrive at night. The ice machine worked well. There is a little coffee pot in the room with cream and sugars. That was nice. This hotel needs to be shut down! Room was crawling with cockroaches! Went down to the front desk to tell them & said I wanted to check out. Was only in the room for 5 mins! I asked them if they wanted to see the pictures but they said no that they would just give me my deposit back. But would not refund my money. James the front desk clerk said I would have to call & dispute it with the manager during the week. I contacted Expedia, meaning I booked through them. They contacted the hotel & the hotel lied & said they went & checked the room & there were no bugs. Which is clearly a lie! After looking more into it, the hotel has horrible reviews! Garbage customer service and super rude reception. Arrived at 2pm after a very long last min 72hr traveling endeavor for my husbands mothers funeral which the hotel knew about because we booked several rooms. When I asked if check in time was such a big deal how come it wasn't mentioned over the phone THE MANAGER responded with "because it's common sense and it's the universal time all over the world for check in at hotels" and I said that's funny because you sure did make it very clear check out is at 11 AM. If we had the option to stay any where else we'd be leaving now. Haven't even made it in a room yet and already sick of the smell of mildew. Update arrived at 3:15 for our universal 3pm check in. Surprise rooms are still being "cleaned". Nice big room full of webs. In addition to the corona beer caps and other miscellaneous trash strewn about the floor that if vacuumed over would be gone. The fridge disgusting! Ask for fantastic or some sort of cleaner maid says "all we use is this lavender clean all stuff" so off I went to buy my own cleaning supplies. 2nd room non smoking reeking of cigarette and same trash strewn about and shocker no trash cans Still 2 more rooms to check will update again. Room 3 "non smoking" smells like an ash tray they didn't even bother to wipe the ashes off of the table in addition to being littered with trash. 3 of the 4 rooms that "have a refrigerator" no fridge. Multiply it by the composite age of all your relatives who have passed away. And you're not even close to approaching to vulgar filth witnessed in the parking lot of this motel. After my stay I finally read the reviews and I'm not shocked. This place is a complete shithole. First of all, I was woken up by methheads banging on my door at all hours of the late night, but, what took me over the edge was waking up covered in what look like bed bug bites. After seeing a doctor, it was confirmed that it was indeed bed bugs. I spoke to the receptionist and she was not surprised at this discovery- she admitted that this was not an uncommon complaint. She even asked me for my room number and confirmed that this is a reoccurring event that has happened in the same room. I asked the manager, Kevin, for a refund, but he denied my request. I am pursuing legal action. Do not stay here unless you desire this type of experience. It is so unfortunate that I did not read these reviews beforehand. I am utterly disgusted. We could not even stay the night due to the state of the room. The door lock had clearly been broken in and roughly repaired, the carpet was not vacuumed (crumbs, sticks, and hair all over it), there were beer rings on the night stand with hair attached, the sink was not wiped down, mildew in the shower, toilet seat was wood and cracked paint. The only "cleaning" that was done was new sheets and the fitted sheet wasn't pulled down on one side of the bed. This is an old hotel that should have been remodeled years ago. The maid service is second rate. It has no restaurant, you may place a food order in the bar, to eat there or to go. We stayed there because it is next door to the state park, it even has a bridge you can use to walk to the park. This hotel was terrible. As soon as we checked in, the rooms were musty and dirty. The bathroom was also filthy. We came for a church convention and soon saw there were no irons or ironing boards in the room. My room went to the front desk and asked for both and were given both. My friend in another room went to ask for one and the front desk employee laughed and says, "Ha, we're all out??!" The next day we still had not received any new towels by almost 5:00 pm. Someone in my room went to the desk to ask for some and was refused and said the housekeeper would be by in a minute. We never did receive towels before we left and when we returned after 10pm that night, still had not received any. This hotel was close to $100/night and was awful. The front desk was not there to serve the customers and they made us feel like they were doing us a favor. I would never stay there again under these circumstances. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip and it was bad. I didn't know what to believe about this place after reading the various reviews but I'm siding with the negative. The rooms were dirty in so many ways - bloodstains on the underside of the bedspreads; a dead roach in the room refrigerator; a wad of hair in the microwave oven; debris of all types around the baseboards; a dead bug smeared on the wall; and the coffeepot in the room lwas stained and looked as if it hadn't been washed in months. The dining area was cramped and dark. The continental breakfast consisted of 2 varieties of stale cereal, a few sliced of bread for toast, some very dubious pastries, and some of the weakest coffee I have ever tasted. The waffles were not too bad. We did not eat at the restaurant. The exterior of the hotel is undergoing repairs but it really needs a complete renovation. There were a lot of missing exterior sections on the support columns but work crews were in the midst of replacing them. There are overflowing ashtrays scattered about and the whole site smells like stale cigarette smoke. There were several drink machines that were not working and only one ice machine that seemed somewhat clean. Given a choice, I would not have stayed here in the first place - and I will definitely not stay here again. read more

We'd stayed here for several years in order to attend the Withlacoochee Trail Rides in the spring and fall. Time and again we asked to not be placed near the pool where late night parties take place by locals, and assured we would not be. Once we arrived, our rooms were.. you guessed it, right on the pool! The hotel is s gem. The room is ample and with dogs it is so convenient being on the ground floor. This is a pet friendly establishment but there is no evidence by way or smells that dogs or cats are around. This is not a luxury hotel but old south. Worst experience ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would avoid this place at all cost. The rooms are basically just a room with beds. TV did not work at all. When we called and asked for a cot they stated that "that's not my problem". And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, we decided to eat at the restaurant on the property. We had the worse service ever. The waitress was rude and that was when we actually saw her. Took 2 hours to get through eating because the food took an hour and a half to come out. I had to find the mustard and ketchup myself. It was disgusting. Completely burnt. Then when the waitress saw that we weren't leaving a tip, she yelled that it would come back to us and as we walked out continued to yell obscenities. For the price it's a great value. The pool is nice and vlean, open til 9 and family friendly. The rooms are fine...remember it's all about the outdoor watersports. Oh my...where to begin. We got in after dark. First mistake. Walked past people sitting out (literally on the stairs) smoking. Got to our room and my teen daughter begged to have us sleep in the car someplace else because she felt so unsafe. The room was so, so, so old and not kept up. The smell of smoke in the room was horrible. I may have slept 2 hours total because we felt so unsafe. Neighbors came in at 1:00 am cussing each other out. Came back at 2 am and apparently got their empties and left. People came in at all hours. Aside from the property being old and never getting any kind of update (as in 70 years), it feels so unsafe that I'd sum it up with one word: FRIGHTENING. HORRIBLE.. Everything, front desk employees, rooms etc. visiting on Xmas eve, My wife and I reserved this room knowing they accepted pets, We reserved a room pool side with a dog. After checking in, and she took my payment, she told me were in the back in a smoking room.. We got to the room, and it smelled so bad of smoke, and the room was filthy, and the TV didn't work. Went back up front and they gave us a top floor pool side room.. Well why didn't they at that to begin with. We moved rooms and all the gifts, better but not great, especially the tv didn't work. Front desk came up to inspect tv , found garbage behind the dresser, food plates etc. She didn't even bother to take them with her when she left, but she did ask for another credit card seeing how we had a dog and she didn't charge us the $10 extra.. I'm like lady, your serious, we told you we had a dog.. Well, totally unacceptable.. horrible place. Next complaint is going to there management. Probably wont get any were going there. read more

If you want to stay in a dump hotel that is dirty, moldy, with chewed up chairs, cobwebs in the bathroom light, and a giant gap in the bottom of the door for creepy crawlers to come join you then this is the place for you! Also, if you want to party all night long in the parking lot this is the place for you. Better check out the room for yourself to see as the pics online do not reflect how the hotel rooms actually look (even though i was told it was very accurate and that the room i had was "the only room that had any issues". They wouldn't refund my money even though i was literally there for 5 minutes! I took the hit for that because there was no way that my family and i were going to stay there!
