The quality of work at Bellas is exceptional! If your hair needs corrective coloring ask for Ruby, she is the best in town!

For some reason it seems like they have been losing a lot of talent. Not sure what is going on but it is really hard to find a decent priced as well as a talented stylist here without paying at least 50 for a hair cut. I guess that's the average these days though. When you add in tip it gets towards 60 bucks for a Hair cut! I do trust their senior staff though with my hair. I'd be cautious with the new ones though. I've had some not so great cuts from the new talent they bring in. Be sure to ask how much experience your stylist has and how long they have been there. The atmosphere is very cool though and the employees have always been super accommodating and friendly. I definitely return! read more

received the worst haircut of my life here - nothing like what I asked for and had to go to Sagittarius Salon to try and fix the choppy, bulky and even haircut . Asked for a few inches off and bouncy layers with curtain bangs and left with these butchered "curtain bangs" (horrible uneven on each side- longer in the front than in the back so it can't even blend in with my hair), uneven layers with several random pieces of hair several inches longer, layers cut UNDER the hair making it look even more choppy, thing, and uneven, and hair AT LEAST 6+ inches shorter than I said I was comfortable going. Genuinely the worst haircut I've ever received. The stylist at Sagittarius was able to fix a lot of the choppiness and unevenness and overall smooth out my hair to make it look much better BUT there is absolutely no fixing what my original stylist here at Bella Salon and Spa did. It is going to take months for my hair to be salvageable. My hair was butchered. I had long healthy hair past my waist and I know have hair that only goes barely past my collarbone and "curtain bangs" that are so thick and heavy that there isn't anything I can do about them until they grow out. incredibly upset with the service I received and cannot recommend after my haircut here even though the salon was nice and friendly. Save your hair, time, and money and go to Sagittarius Salon. read more

This used to be an excellent salon. But in the past year or so, they have lost talented stylists who went to work at other salons. The good stylists that remain there for the most part are only part-time . So getting an appointment with them is difficult. read more

I had read previous reviews and was very excited about getting a massage at Bella Salon and Spa but it was a huge disappointment. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A QUALITY MASSAGE. I have had many massages before, all types and techniques. The woman, I believe her name was Sarah, was absolutely horrible. She didn't understand techniques, she didn't massage my face or hands. She started with my legs and there was no continuity at all. She used three different kinds of pressure, kept shaking her hands instead of smoothe motions, and when she massaged the front of my hairline she kept tangling my hair. At the end of the massage, she said "thank you" in a very loud, normal tone and then went off to wash her hands without saying anything. Then opened the door and was gone. Every bit of tension I had gone in with, left with me and I was covered in thick oil. She never massaged it in so I was sliding in my shoes and it was running down my neck. If you're looking for a quality massage, don't go here. It was terrible and a waste of money. read more

Bella Salon and Spa is the best of Hagerstown! After trying all of the other salons, I finally found my favorite place. Bella's staff does a great job of being warm and welcoming. The salon is always clean, buzzing, and full of great hair! I have gotten my haircut by Jess numerous times now. She is truly an artist. She listens to my requests, asks questions, and makes sure that I am completely satisfied before leaving. It is easy to tell that she is passionate about her work. She has colored my hair twice (blonde highlights) and both times it looked amazingly natural. I've gotten tons of compliments after coming here! My only complaint (a minor one) is that I have had issues with scheduling. At least half of the time I've called during business hours, nobody answered. Since they take a while to return messages, I always just call back until someone answers. Once you get someone on the phone, they're always kind and have the schedule readily available. I usually have to plan about a week in advance to have Jess cut my hair, which is no problem what-so-ever. As far as pricing, Bella is very comparable to the other higher-end salons around. My haircut usually costs around $40, but I've paid as much as $120 for a cut and color - plus tip. It is definitely worth it, as they are always reliable and really work to make it an experience. If you are looking for a new salon to call your own, I highly suggest Bella! read more

I went here to have balayage done. I had never dyed my hair before and my stylist did a wonderful job! They have magazines and chargers while you wait. My stylist was very helpful and taught me a lot about how to properly care for my hair! They close at 8, and even though everyone else had left because they were closing, she left the salon open for my friends and I as she finished up my hair. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is becausw they were a little pricey. On their website they said 80$+ for balayage. I knew because my hair is thick and long that it would be more, but it ended up costing more than double that. Everyone was nice, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. I would definitely go again, but bring more money this time. :) read more

I always enjoy my experience at Bella Salon & Spa. Everyone is kind and friendly. I always leave feeling relaxed and happy with the services provided. The salon is always clean and they do everything they could possibly do to make sure you are comfortable. A few staff I'd like to give kudos to are; Jo who genuinely smiles when greeting you and checking you out before you leave. Christy who makes Bella a community asset and has more energy and personality than most people I know. Tammy who always makes me feel beautiful. She suggests ideas to me but i never feel pressure to try anything I'm not comfortable with. I get compliments all the time on my hair style. Melinda is the only esthetician I've ever used but she was gentle and I felt so relaxed after her service. She remembered what we talked about and I felt she really listened to me. Desirae was amazing, this was my first paraffin wax pedicure and it was well worth it. On the morning we went, totally a girls day out, it wasn't busy at all and Desirae offered me coffee and let me know that the chair had the massage feature. She painted the full nail and didn't leave anything in painted, my girlfriend asked her what her favorite type of design to do is and it turned out to be flowers and she offered to do some for me. I showed her a picture and they are so cute! I would definitely recommend this location for pedicures. read more

Why would you have a policy that doesn't allow your customers to add gratuity to a debit or credit card at check out? Yes I know it costs you a little to do that but that is like a restaurant saying you must pay a gratuity in cash only. In this day and age it is not convenient for your customers and it causes potential embarrassment or worse, lost gratuities for your employees. If you were cash only I would totally understand but you are not! Won't be back! It's a sign that you are not changing with the times and don't really understand our customers. My husband bought me a gift certificate for my birthday for a much needed massage. I have been to Bella before for spa services, but it has been years. I finally got to go last week-- when I got there, on a whim I asked if anyone happen to have an opening for a haircut when finished my massage. I figured it was a shot in the dark, but they worked it out and I treated myself to both the salon and spa. Kelcee was my massage practioner and did a great job! I then got my haircut by Bettina, who also did a great job and I ended up making an appointment to come back to her in a week for highlights. Today was the day I returned and again was highly satisfied, I will return! Jessica is a great hair stylist. She is gentle, complimentary, and talented. If you are near Western MD book an appointment with Jessica! She also dye's my eyebrows--expertly. Once she was running behind, and gave me complimentary conditioning so that as I waited, my hair was happy. A lot of the girls at Bella are young, and I had fine haircuts from two other girls before I got Jessica at random, and now I won't go to anyone else. Jessica is the best! read more

I just went there yesterday for hair extensions, at first i loved them but after the first wash they look very unnatural and you can tell where my real hair ends! i love bella salon because about 2 years about they fixed my hair that another salon messed up but yesterday just wasn't my day. they are working with me and willing to fix it but I WANT MY MONEY BACK(250 for extensions and 350 to put them in) which they said they have to talk to the manger about which I'm pretty sure they are going to say no! i just want this thing out of my hair, i don't know if i will ever go back there now and it sucks because i thought i found the perfect salon. read more

I downloaded the Yelp app just to write this review. I live in Washington state and was in the area visiting family when I decided to make a change to my hair. I had dyed my hair bright pink at home. I didn't do too bad a job, I loved it. However, it was way too much maintenance. With a young daughter, I just couldn't keep up with it. I called and was able to get an appointment for color in just a couple days. I went to this salon based on Internet reviews. I can say I couldn't have been happier. My stylist/colorist was Kaitlyn. She was so patient and listened to all my concerns. She spent A LOT of time trying to fix my bright hair. Ended up doing a color removal/lift and two separate different color treatments on top of that. (It took a lot of time). The entire staff treated me with respect and were so gracious and kind. She did a wonderful job. I could not be happier. I won't go to any other salon while I'm visiting family ever again. TWO THUMBS UP. read more
