He and the other staff are always kind and professional, plus I love that they have coffee and water available- they even have a few coffee syrups available for use alongside the usual coffee creamer and sugar, which I don't often see. The space is always clean and well organized, and the music they play is just loud enough to be heard when things are a bit more quiet (ie there aren't any blow dryers being used nearby). However, their fee is 50% of the entire service! So if you have a cut and color, that's a LOT of money. However, tonight I had a haircut at 6:45. She wrote me and said "running 15 minutes late tonight, could you come in at 7?" (which means 20 or 25) but regardless, I said I could not make it bc my husband needed our car. I said that and could we reschule? I was then contacted by the owner that *I* owed 50% of the service bc I couldn't come. Naturally I asked how that was fair and the owner said " [stylist] was available at your scheduled time. She politely did not want you sitting waiting on her." What...the stylist asked if I COULD come. No I can't. She was not available at 6:45. Beware. 50% can be very expensive & I've never heard of a stylist being late and YOU having to pay for it if you can't fit it in.

Visited Bambou Salon for the first time and overall I had a good experience. My stylist, Gracie,…read moregave me some soft layers, trimmed my bob to keep the shape, and styled it well. I was happy with how my hair looked in the end. The only thing I wish was different was the blow-dry. It felt really rough on my scalp and my roots have been very sore since the appointment. I also felt like a little too much of velvet smooth spray + volumizing products were used, so the BaBylissPRO dryer took longer to dry my hair and felt a harsh. Maybe a gentler blow-dry would have been better for my thin hair type. I also saw a bunch of old hair lying near the station where the blow dryer cord was - I wish someone would have cleaned it better with no visible hair left. Other than that, Gracie did a decent job with the haircut. We had good conversations throughout the appointment, and I left happy with the result. I also really appreciated that I was offered to do a hair strand test when I asked about using a high-lift color. I had a bad experience with a high-lift color at another salon before where I spent a lot of money and saw almost no results, so this made me feel much more confident and happier. The lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful too. I will be definitely be back for hair color and future appointments.
