The location is reasonably convenient, near the hospital with ample bus access and a train station on the other side of the hospital. I've gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the range and presentation of fruit and veg. Tucked just inside a Spar-owned shopping centre, Mother of All Fruits occupies a huge floor space. Most of this is taken up by rows of fresh produce, but there's also a section for packaged and frozen goods. The range of fruit and veg is great and their herbs come in huge bunches for around $2.95 each. There are also lots of "bucket" specials to be had where you get a reduced price for buying a large amount. For $30, I filled a green bag and walked out with a tray of 20 bowen mangoes. Pretty good value, especially the $10 tray of mangoes. Whilst extremely well organised and well presented, the only thing I don't like about this produce store is that it feels a little too much like a supermarket. I remain faithful to the Gabba Fruit Market, which has a more local feel to it and has a less hectic carpark.

As a family run business, the service reflects this. It's not too much trouble, as other Yelpers have mentioned, for the team to help you carry your shopping to the car. You get a choice of bag or box and there's a small section at the front of the store perfect for stocking up on slightly blemished produce for smoothies or juice. I most recently bought a bag of pineapples for $5 that have been well used in smoothies this week and even a chicken dish for dinner. There's also a small area for organic and gluten free flours, coconut oils, yoghurts, cheeses etc. All in all Charlie's is a one-stop shop and great for a weekly produce shop or for the one-off "I've run out of..." type of stop in. If you're not keen on driving to Everton Park, they also have online ordering with a flat $5 delivery.

Unless it was freshly made, I wouldn't recommend it. My sister ordered the banana "nice-cream," which was sinfully creamy and somehow still 100% dairy-free. Even the chocolate drizzle on top fooled me! We also got a few of their smoothies, all of which had the option of being organic (for an extra charge) or regular. Overall, it was a fairly pricey but deliciously healthy mini meal. There's a lot of hype to this place but I think it's well-deserved - worth a visit!

The fruit and veg there is a bit too pricey for me, but the quality is good and all the food is displayed well. Staff are extremely friendly, making this a pleasant place to shop and with a baker and butcher either side, it's conveniently placed. I would say it's a good place to shop for a weekend treat or special picnic.

Fresh - The vine ripened tomatoes here make me crave bruschetta with their sweet smell and the bright red blush of their skins. Convenient - there's always parking here. It's next door to a bakery, deli and butchers so you can do half your weekly shop in this complex alone. Cheap - like all fruitgrocers, prices are a little cheaper here than at Woolworths or Coles. This is especially obvious during the summer months when you can buy cheap trays of mangoes and also year round with their avocadoes. While I wouldn't recommend driving across town purely for this greengrocer, residents of Eight Mile Plains, Sunnybank, Macgregor, Wishart and even Mount Gravatt should give this place a yelp.

The large room is spacious but lined with fridges full of every cut of meat under the sun (or protected from it in air-conditioned comfort). I didn't see any exotic meats, it was mainly variations of pork, chicken and beef, but they came in any shape or form you could possibly want. The room at the back where they prepare and package everything is also visible from the front, which I find somewhat comforting as well as a little gross to look at.
