Charlie's is a bit of a coup for us Northsiders. Open 24 hours and providing respectably priced fruit & veg with great customer service - there's a reason you'll often find this local shop buzzing with shopping carts. As a family run business, the service reflects this. It's not too much trouble, as other Yelpers have mentioned, for the team to help you carry your shopping to the car. You get a choice of bag or box and there's a small section at the front of the store perfect for stocking up on slightly blemished produce for smoothies or juice. I most recently bought a bag of pineapples for $5 that have been well used in smoothies this week and even a chicken dish for dinner. There's also a small area for organic and gluten free flours, coconut oils, yoghurts, cheeses etc. All in all Charlie's is a one-stop shop and great for a weekly produce shop or for the one-off "I've run out of..." type of stop in. If you're not keen on driving to Everton Park, they also have online ordering with a flat $5 delivery. read more

I'm so glad I was able to try Charlie's while visiting Brisbane! My sister got me excited to try their vegan delicacies, as well as browse their vast fruit selection. After being on the road traveling for close to two months, I had gotten used to eating what was cheap and convenient, not taking nutrition into consideration most of the time, so I was craving some colors in my diet. Charlie's had a few fruits I'd never seen before, one of which was a Jackfruit, cut open and on display. Also available were coconuts, passion fruit, pineapples and other tropical deliciousness. There's a small selection of dairy-free cheeses, yoghurts and ice creams, as well as other vegan food options. We decided to get something to snack on from the cafe section. I chose a falafel which, after reading another user's review, I realize I should have asked if they were made that morning because it was cold (which I wasn't expecting) as well as soggy. Unless it was freshly made, I wouldn't recommend it. My sister ordered the banana "nice-cream," which was sinfully creamy and somehow still 100% dairy-free. Even the chocolate drizzle on top fooled me! We also got a few of their smoothies, all of which had the option of being organic (for an extra charge) or regular. Overall, it was a fairly pricey but deliciously healthy mini meal. There's a lot of hype to this place but I think it's well-deserved - worth a visit! read more

Cheap like the budgie! Charlie's is great, especially if you are on a budget. Every week they have ridiculous specials like Jarrah Pumpkin for 29c a kilo or onions, just $1 for a kilo bag... They are all advertised weekly on their website. You get free bread with every purchase over $5 (I think it's $5, haven't been for a month or so) and my kids always get a free banana to munch on while we are shopping. If you look out in the local papers you will find loads of coupons that offer even further discounts, I can do a weeks worth of fruit and vege shopping here for under $20. In addition to fruit and vege Charlies offer a variety grocery items including eggs, pasta, fruit juice, bread and dairy products. read more

The Short: Great quality produce, with excellent customer service. Online Delivery charges keep increasing. The Long: My wife and I have tried Charlies Fruit Online for a while, and we found the quality of the Fruit and Veg to be really high. Unlike supermarkets, the food appears to be sourced fresh from Rocklea each day, which makes wilted lettuce and flaccid carrots very hard to spot at Charlies. The store IRL is nuts: always busy (which is generally a good sign for those unsure whether a vendor is good or not). Recently, we've wanted to get more fruit and veg online from Charlies, but we've found the minimum order to get free shipping puts the F&V quota above what we'd need normally. For this reason, we've not purchased fruit and veg from these guys for a while. For us, both money and quality is important at the moment. The delivery charge adds a sting, but I can understand why Charlies has to pass it on. Other than that, Chariles is recommended if you are local to the store, or don't mind the extra delivery charge for small orders. read more

Charlie's has really gone down hill since putting in a coffee shop and smoothie bar. There is a lot less produce to choose from and minimal budget fruit and vegetable options now. I would assume they have lost a lot of older or budget minded customers, but instead now probably attract the Cafe latte loving vegan crowd. They would be my last resort. read more

Charlie's is one of my favourite places to go for fresh fruit and veg. I have been coming here for a long time to buy packs of frozen acai and frozen bananas, to make my own acai bowls at home. I especially love that they are open 24 hours. Late night fruit and veg runs are the best! Charlie's sell packs of frozen acai puree for $10 each, which is quite reasonable. Their frozen bananas are in the $2-$4 range, depending on size, which is very cheap, and comes in handy when you don't have time, or simply forgot, to freeze your own. As well as having an excellent selection of fresh produce, Charlie's also offer snacks, dairy-free milk and cheese, organic baking goods, pastas, sauces and more. They also have their own little café in store, which serves healthy desserts, coffee, fresh smoothies and juices, and a variety of acai bowls. I find the café prices to be quite high, so I rarely purchase anything to eat or drink, but from the two times when I did buy a smoothie and acai bowl, they both were delicious. read more

A great place to go to avoid the depressing supermarket!! I really enjoy going to Charlie's Fruit Market. its a special quiet place i can go to 'zone out' ha. I find myself purchasing most stuff out the front of the store where produce is pre bagged with special deals. They also have a 'juicing section' with huge bags of fruit and veggies that look a bit dodgy but are perfect to juice and appropriately priced. They always have pretty great specials on staples so i always walk away with more produce then intended. It also seems that they are stocking more and more organic fruit and vegetables at an affordable price (i loaded up on organic bananas at $2.99 a kilo today). Prices do change all the time and i've noticed that it is a lot cheaper to go towards the end of the week. The staff are very helpful and tentative and the nice men always carry my boxes to the car. Nuthin' wrong with a bit of male chivalry. I would definitely recommend liking their facebook page as they give stuff away all the time. read more

Great variety with great prices but they reason I keep coming back is the fantastic customer service. It's consistently positive, friendly and always helpful. I mean, let's face it, fruit and vegetables in most places including the two main supermarkets are more or less the same except pricing. However when you get great customer service from ALL staff members, why go elsewhere? Charlie's must treat their staff very well so thank you for that! read more

Love the open hours of this little smoothie bar. They do a great coffee and have a fantastic choice of smoothies that are actually delicious! 'inca Warrior' is my fav. The falafel wrap is great, but ask if it's made that morning. freshly made it better. No soggy bread. The salads are abit pricey for me at $15 a tub. So can't comment there. The treats and sweets are great for those eating clean, yep they're alittle naughty, but made for organic and ethical products and again the selection is wonderful. Be warned, however, it gets very busy as it's so popular, so allow that extra few minutes when stopping in on the way to work :) read more

Charlies is good. The fruit and vegetables are good. Not AMAZING but good and if you follow them on in stag ram you'll often get things even cheaper. But the real winner here is Raw Squeeze. No better place for Acai bowl in Brisbane. Amazing service. And don't forget their kids juices for $2 between 3 and 5pm. And it's open late. The Raw Squeeze is open 6am - 10pm. went to charlies fruit shop today, going to buy 3 pundits of strawberry. strawberry were 2 for $5.00 total cost was $8.00 I said to the dump check out operator that should be $7.50 she said no it is 2 for 5 that what the computer saids . I said well I will put 1 back if that's the case and I said that is bad customer service it should be 7.50 price over/ride it. I hope the owner reads this because she want have a job for to much longer. look on your cameras if was approx. 3.20 pm .
