They made my high school experience easy and peaceful. I graduated in confidence and had time to live my life alongside school. The flexibility is amazing and the faculty/teachers were great for the most part. I had the chance to attend many field trips, but I also got to attend prom and a physical graduation which meant a lot to me as I didn't wanna miss out on that. They gave the full experience of prom and graduation and senior year overall for me. There was one teacher who doubted me and made me feel bad and like I wouldn't succeed, but I overcame that and did not let him push me around or put me down. I graduated a year after he put me down and I will always remember him as my motivation to prove him wrong. I had another teacher who was outstanding and so supportive to me. I still have a voicemail she left me before I graduated where she was just telling me how amazing my last essay was and how good of writer I was and how she believes in me and my ability to succeed in the future. She has been in the back of my mind since and has been my biggest motivation since then even though she doesn't teach me anymore. Her support my senior year was enough support to keep me going even in my second year of college now. Would recommend this school (as long as your child is wanting to be homeschooled!)

My son just graduated and we were looking back at what he achieved. It's simply incredible. School plays, lego league, chess, debate, technology club, VEX Robotics World Championships competing against high schools in California and of course solar cars, where Woodlands come home with armfuls of prizes. Great teachers who really care and classes sizes you wouldn't believe. (4-6, but not above 8 was our experience). He learned a lot and turned out a most polite young man. A hidden gem! We…read moremoved to Castle Pines in January (from out of state) & only recently found Woodlands Academy in Castle Rock. I wish I had found them sooner. My 10 year old had been in the gifted program at her old school, had been doing well & loved school. While Douglas County school district has an open enrollment policy and a ton of charter/magnet schools, you can't actually get into any of them when you move in the middle of the year (in addition to missing the lottery for the following year). Our neighborhood elementary school was awful. I had a bad feeling about it the first time we visited it & have learned my lesson about listening to myself. It got worse over time until I was desperate to find another place (& had to promise my daughter that she would not have to go back there for 5th grade--no matter what--just to get her to be willing to get up & go to school every morning). She never had any homework, including math, and never had any make-up work when she was out sick--including a whole week she was out when we finished moving which the teachers knew about ahead of time. No assignments whatsoever. And there was no communication about anything they were studying or about any tests/projects/grades or anything. Luckily, I happened upon the Woodlands Academy while looking for another school for the following year, having promised my daughter that she would not have to go back to her old school. After applying, she went to shadow at the school to see if she liked it, while also giving them the opportunity to test her to see if she would be a good fit for their academically accelerated program. As it turns out, we were lucky that a new charter school had opened close by and had taken a lot of their students, so they had openings!!! The school was so fabulous I couldn't believe it. Very small classes with lots of one-on-one attention. They have lots of outside activities like going to the opera and hiking local places. It was so impressive that I withdrew my daughter from the local public school and am having her finish out the year there. I wouldn't normally think that would be a good idea, but she wasn't learning anything at her old school, so I couldn't imagine it being negative in any way. She went to shadow and never went back to her old school. Thankfully, the small classes allow the teachers to help catch my daughter up in things that she missed learning during her months in public school (important things that all 4th graders need to know for future school success). She loves going to school again! Now she comes home excited about debate class, learning a foreign language (they offer Spanish, French, German & Latin) and building a battery powered car (the middle schoolers designed solar powered) in technology class. If you are looking for an alternative school choice for an exceptional 1st-8th grader, I highly recommend Woodlands Academy. We are excited to have a great place lined up for next year. If I had found them sooner, or my about to be 8th grader hadn't already gotten into the STEM School & Academy for next year, I would pull her out of her enormous middle school and gladly send her to the Woodlands Academy where she could get the attention she deserves as an above average student who is clearly not getting enough attention focussed on her with her classes of 30+ students at the local middle school (which had great reviews, btw).

I have spoken to many groups of people in all grades about how they don't feel safe or feel they can't be themselves because of the bullying that happens. Those who are themselves have been bullied to the point they switch schools or self harm. I can only name a good selection of teachers who I actually trust and can express myself to. If you're deciding to send your kid to Arapahoe please think wisely about it and understand what kind of a school you're sending your child to. there has been so many rapist at arapahoe that still go there to this day. The school school is so concerned about those vaping instead of worrying about those kids whose mental health and life are being ruined because of the others at the school. AHS has always been a progressive Littleton school preparing the students for higher education. I did notice as time was a going on... the biggest difference was the amount of entitlement of some students as the area around AHS grew and became more affluent. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those values. The biggest concern for our family was the stark difference between the girls' and boys' divisions. Having children in both, we experienced what felt like two completely different schools. The expectations, communication, support, and overall leadership were noticeably stronger in the boys' division than in the girls' division. We found the leadership in the girls' division to be unresponsive and lacking the guidance and support families expect. Concerns were often dismissed rather than addressed, and there seemed to be different standards and expectations for girls than for boys. The environment often felt cliquish and unwelcoming. We observed bullying, exclusion, and a lack of meaningful intervention. Instead of feeling emotionally supported, our daughter struggled, and the experience had a significant impact on her well-being. Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to transfer our daughter to a public school. The difference has been remarkable. She is happier, more confident, and thriving in a much healthier environment. What disappointed us most was the disconnect between the school's stated mission and our actual experience. We expected a community rooted in compassion, integrity, and strong leadership, but our family experienced inconsistency, a lack of accountability, and limited support when it mattered most. Every family's experience is different, but based on ours, I would strongly encourage parents to carefully explore other schools before making this significant financial investment. We wish we had. No family should have to watch their child lose confidence or struggle emotionally because they don't feel supported at school. I sincerely hope Regis takes a hard look at the disparities between the girls' and boys' divisions and works to create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and safe.

Adolescence is arguably the most critical period in a person's life. During this time, adolescents are learning skills that are necessary for higher education or work, psychological autonomy, forming close friendships, and developing a sense of self identity. This time can be a really exciting and challenging time because they are experiencing physical, cognitive, and social changes. Between Mrs. Cahill, the principal, and Dr. Tom Welch, the clinical psychologist, Humanex is very accommodating to those changes and challenges that are presented during this time. They understand that the stimulation and stress that is presented at public schools are not a good match for everyone, and they put a great deal of effort into making Humanex stand out compared to its larger counterparts. During my experience at Humanex Academy, I have learned about the importance of confidence. Confidence is often formed and solidified during adolescence. We sent our son to Valor because of the values we thought it represented. We were very disappointed in terms of the sports program.
