I have had multiple extremely negative experiences at this facility, and the pattern has been both frustrating and unacceptable. First, there have been persistent and unresolved paperwork issues. The front desk repeatedly failed to provide my insurance company with the correct forms, forcing me into an exhausting back-and-forth between the insurance provider and the clinic. As a patient, I was left to manage problems that should have been handled competently by the office staff. Second, my experience with the billing department was equally troubling. Although I was making consistent weekly payments, I was told that I was not paying the remaining balance quickly enough. I was given an ultimatum: either pay the full balance immediately or they would stop providing my medically necessary injections. Holding medical treatment hostage despite active payment arrangements is both unethical and distressing for a patient. Another serious issue involved a clear bait-and-switch. I was led to believe that my required medical injection would be provided for a $15 fee. As soon as I paid the fee, they applied it toward my outstanding balance instead and then denied me the injection, directly contradicting what I had been told. Finally, after completing bloodwork, I was left completely without communication or explanation regarding my results. I called multiple times and left messages that went unanswered. Instead of receiving my results, I was sent a final notice for payment, stating that if I did not pay, the account would be sent to collections. I left a message clearly stating that I was more than willing to pay once my bloodwork results were explained to me--but once again, I received no response. Overall, this has been a deeply disappointing experience marked by poor communication, billing pressure, and a lack of basic patient care and accountability. Lack of communication regarding bloodwork results: After completing my blood panel, I received no follow-up or explanation of the results. Despite calling multiple times and leaving messages, I was ignored. Instead of providing medically relevant information, the office sent a final notice demanding payment and threatening to send the bill to collections. I left a message stating that I was willing to pay as soon as my bloodwork results were explained to me, yet no one has returned my call. read more

Now, I must state that the last two phone calls I had with the office folk with Bellevue Family Practice were with Jane, and she was very helpful. I believe I have never talked with "Jane" before this. Prior to these two phone calls I have experienced what every other person has experienced with the office help. Physicians have been awesome. I normally see Carmen, but have seen two others when he wasn't available. Just like all the other people on this review site, I waited 2 weeks for someone to call about my 6 month labs. No one called, told to log into portal, needed another two calls to get that figured out. Had more problems speaking to someone there and getting a nasty person on the other line. Told Carmen about this. Been going there for 20 years and if it weren't for Carmen, my entire family would stop going to Bellevue Family Practice in Bellevue. I pray that my experiences in the future are like the ones I experienced with Jane so I can come back to this site and give Bellevue Family Practice a much better review. read more

Dr. Biskup has gotten continued education regarding hormones, supplements, and their role within the body. He had me feeling at the top of my game, looking and feeling 10 years younger than my biological age. He is also an optimistic person. When I first became his patient years ago, he was very kind, thorough, and would send me home with a carnation. Carmen Magistro P.A. saved my life by diagnosing a serious illness that could have killed me, after it had been overlooked and gone untreated by another provider elsewhere. I have to say I am glad I found Dr Biskup and my 5 star review is strictly for him and not for the office as a whole. Dr Biskup is a little different than your traditional family doctor and he really does care about his patients and take time to listen to you and get to the bottom of your situation. The rest of the office has a lot to desire. Interacting with the staff here and trying to get around in here makes me uncomfortable and I feel like I am inconveniencing everyone. Its also hard to get someone on the phone when calling. I hope they can clean these practices up. read more

This is NOT about my doctor or her nurse. They are both patient, kind, and professional. I needed an ultrasound done. On a FRIDAY morning, about 9am, directly from my doctor, I received a piece of paper with written instructions to call and make an appt with Radiology at the Hospital nearest me (the phone# was even included). I considered that the staff at Bellevue would need time to send the 'official order' to the hospital. So, I specifically waited until TUESDAY morning to call the Hospital. It had not happened. So, there I was, playing middle-man between the Bellevue and the Hospital Radiology dept. Bellevue said the "girl" that usually does this was "out sick" both FRIDAY and MONDAY. So, evidently, her work (my needs) did not get attended to during her absence. Whomever I was speating to said that "she was back today," and was working on it "right now." So, I called the Hospital again to relay the info I rcvd from Bellevue. Again, I waited. THURSDAY, mid-morning, the Hospital phoned me to set up my appt; they had JUST received the order from Bellevue that morning... the same order I'd received the PREVIOUS FRIDAY. WHY I return there, I do not know. Ahhh, but there's more... After I finished setting my appt with the Hospital on Thursday, I phoned Bellevue Family Practice and asked to speak to my wonderful nurse to tell her what was actually going on, so she would at least let the doctor know. But, I was not permitted to speak to the nurse who works with my doctor. Instead, I had to continue speaking with the "nurse" who happened to answer the phone. Since she did not identify herself, I had to ask her name. "Athena" also said she worked with ALL the doctors. However, Athena was unlike any nurse I have EVER met at Bellevue Fam Practice. So, even after tolerating her snotty tone of voice, I relayed what had happened regarding the Ultrasound. Her response? To begin "explaining" to me about "procedure." As if that would change what had already happened that was NOT due to "procedure?" When I told her I was not interested in "knowing the procedure," she said she needed to end our conversation. wow. We at least agreed on something. WHY I return there, I do not know. Last year, Bellevue Fam Practice refused to see me when I arrived for my appt bcz they said I needed to pay a $25 copay for the visit that day. And, bcz I did not happen to have my debit card with me, I needed to 'fly' to my bank to get $25 cash to give to Bellevue before I would be seen. Seriously? I drove 200mi, round-trip, just to be there. A month later, I received the refund of $25 bcz their billing dept had messed up; no copay had been needed afyer all. WHY I return there, I do not know. I needed a referral to a specialist bcz there is not actually an endocrinologist on staff at Bellevue (even though it's advertised as such). I have Hashimotos and Chronic Hypothyroidism. I asked for a referral to be sent to a specific endo who performs thyroid research and surgery in the Omaha metro. I received a voicemail from Bellevue telling me they had set an appt date & time - and with a DIFFERENT endocrinologist. And how they knew when I'd be available for that appt is beyond me. WHY I return there, I do not know. However, I will not return there any more. I will miss my doctor and her nurse. But, I'm done with this office. I've already made a new appt elsewhere, and this new staff is at least pleasant and seems to be professional. Wow! Less stress is a GOOD thing. read more

UPDATE: After posting this review I was contacted via Yelp message by Vicki Jensen of Bellevue Family Practice who maliciously attacked the patient above, and shared 7 PARAGRAPHS OF HIS PERSONAL INFORMATION with me (a federal law violation) in an attempt to get me to change my review. Beware of this place. I recently brought my neighbor to Belleview Family Practice for her appointment because she rarely drives these days. The waiting room was pleasant and clean, and my sister who is also a patient there, swears by the quality of the physicians. She says one of the nurses always remembers her and she likes that. To be fair, I wanted to post the above statements prior to posting the reasons for the single star review. As I sat there reading the interesting standard waiting room/lobby magazines (lol) I was literally distracted by the unsavory and just plain rude attitude of the receptionist seated nearest the door. Her negative personality practically made the room cold. This person sat with a blank stare and failed to greet my neighbor when we arrived, so my neighbor had to walk over to the next lady to get checked in (the second receptionist was fairly nice). After a few minutes I heard the first receptionist grumbling and complaining about something to another employee. A couple of minutes later I watched her interact with another patient as if she was being forced at gunpoint to do so. Shortly after that, I watched her get a patient's name wrong twice - though he was there in person and said it right to her - and then literally REFUSE THIS GENTLEMAN MEDICAL CARE. There was a misunderstanding over a very small bill. I know this because the woman chose to have what should have been a private, financial conversation in full view and full, clear earshot of all of us in the waiting room. The man was very nice and said he had $100 to pay them right then, and that he believed he had until the first of the moth to pay the remainder. He said he had been in the emergency room the day before and needed immediate follow-up by his family doctor. The man had a $100 bill in his hand and wanted to give it to her. The woman told him Bellevue Family Practice was refusing to treat the man unless he handed them another hundred dollars and change right then. He asked to speak with the billing folks. The receptionist walked away in disgust and the man pleaded to be seen. As she was in the back, other employees were poking their heads out from the same area giving the man dirty looks. The unfriendly woman brought another woman from the back and the man greeted her with a kind "So nice to meet you in person." This woman spoke to the gentleman a couple of feet beyond the threshold to the exam area, but they left the door wide open so we could hear everything in the lobby. This woman also refused the man healthcare because he only brought $100 and not the additional $100 they said he now needed. The man thanked her for her time and left quietly, but not before asking the name of the woman who had treated him so terribly. She stated that her name is "Brenda". He said "thank you". I was so appalled that I spoke of the matter to my neighbor in the car on the way to her home. She said that this office has said they are changing their billing system for months, and that they have been messing up on the bills, and that they are calling patients to ask them to pay early in exchange for a discount on their bill. This lends credence to the man's claim that they probably messed up on his bill as well. I guess I am so bothered by what I saw today because 1.) "Brenda" has an absolutely detestable attitude and should not be handling people in need of care and kindness at a doctor's office. and 2.) What the heck kind of business turns a man away from healthcare after he was recently in the E.R....especially when there are obvious billing problems at that office. 3.) From my perspective as a non-patient observer I can tell you that this office appears to care about ONE thing: Getting your money. Not your experience with a kind receptionist. Not getting your billing correct. Not your heath. Just your money. Such a sad state of affairs, but so well punctuated by the nasty person you first encounter upon arrival. A lady I was seated next to saw all of this as well, and she joked with me that she felt like she was on an episode of "What Would You Do?", and that she felt bad, as I did, that we didn't interject while the man was being treated so awfully in our presence. I very much hope that the man we saw finds the medical care he needs, and I urge prospective patients to think very hard and consider this review prior to scheduling an appointment with this place. My neighbor will continue to go here forever because she loves her doctor and the nurses, and I will support her decision by driving her.....I just hope the next time I am in the lobby I don't see similar mistreatment of good people. read more

My wife and I are in our 60s and have been seeing Dr Biskup for a few years now. He is especially good with doing blood work for every visit. He has us on hormone therapy and supplements designed for living longer and healthier lives. Very friendly and approachable. There is a long wait to get an appointment because he is quite popular. PAs handle routine health care visits, and are available quickly. Bellevue Family Practice has always been friendly and professional. Note you do need to drive around the back side of the building for their entrance. read more

Went as a new patient for routine checkup. Dr. Magistro is friendly and knowledgeable. He made a plan for me and got me on medicine to alleviate some symptoms I had for several months. I've been going to Dr Biskup for 2 years, although I've only seen him once. I see Nicole, a PA, she's pleasant enough. I recently called for a blood draw, which by the way I hate calling this office. I kept my voice light and was confident about asking for the draw, when asked what is was for I told her 3 different things, one of which was something I hadnt had before. She said I'd need to be seen. I responded with "that takes too long so skip the 3rd thing", she then rattled off an appt time and a blood draw date. So THIS time getting seen by a PA was quicker than getting the draw appt. I asked if I'd be getting my blood drawn as well, and she rudely said yes if thats what the provider recommends. I'm with Josh N's review about the staff and feeling completely uncomfortable being there, as well as, how wonderful Dr Biskuip is, but it does feel alot like a bait and switch. I'm also in agreement with Theresa Ks review as to why I keep going here. I knew Dr Biskup was popular and that getting to see him required a long wait, but I'm healthy and I thought no worries, but at the same time... is this a call center? Because that's what it feels like. And I dont know about anyone else, but paying Dr prices and seeing a PA, that doesn't seem kosher either. Dr's are fine, although the nurses could use a refresher on bedside manners. .. Billing is another matter. Date of service 9/4. get bill after insurance 11/28. Immediately paid in full. Get another bill 3 months later, after I've scrambled to spend my FSA $ by the end of the year. They were playing "Catch up". Now I get to pay the entire amount out of pocket 6 months later. I had been stuffed up for a month during allergy season. The stuffiness and pain had subsided in my nose and upper face but had remained in my jaw. I explained this to Dr. Akerson and told him I had been successfully treated in the spring for a sinus infection that made my jaw hurt. Dr. Akerson told me I had bruxism, TMJ and refused to treat me for a sinus infection. But sent me away with 40 oxycodone pills. I wasn't too happy so I called my dentist. He stayed at work late and gave me an rx for antibiotics for my sinus infection later in the day and I felt 90% better by midnight. Both my dentist and orthodontist, who were lovely enough to see me the same day said my symptoms were not consistent with TMJ. Also I never met a painkiller I didn't like until oxycodone. They call it hillbilly heroin for a reason. I ran out of ibuprofen b/c my rec'd dose was so high - 12 a day. So, I figured I take the percocet since I had it. I was nodding mid convo, had hot flashes, waves of nausea and a hungover, strung out feeling. They say you can get addicted in a few weeks. I believe it; cause you take another and you feel better! It's pretty crazy to come in seeking antibiotics and to be given this stuff. read more

This Doctor's office let me down when I needed the most. Normally I see Chrissy and she's awesome! My troubles started when I had an issue with my hypothyroidism and Chrissy was out of the office. I went in for an appointment on Tuesday August 14th with Carmen. I felt that my thyroid was low, I was having a hard time staying awake at work, my thinking was so slow I was having a hard time functioning at work, and I was freezing cold. Carmen spent about 3 minutes in the room with me and stated that he needed my thyroid test first to do anything and to give him 2 days for the test to come back (Thursday August 16th). I braced myself for having to go another 2 days struggling desperately through work. By Thursday (August 16th) I was miserable and a deep depression had started to set in, I could not function at work, I was freezing cold, and my skin started to itch. I had to leave work because I was almost in tears 3 times before 9:30am. By the afternoon I hadn't hear back so I called the office and left a voice mail explaining how much I was struggling. The voice mail stated they return calls in 24 hours. 24 hours later I had still not received a call so I called again Friday late afternoon and was told the Carmen was out of the office that day. I was desperate and I asked if anyone else could review and they did get another Dr to look at my file. However, she was suggesting a decrease in medication and I was requesting an increase. I told the nurse that I was really worried about decreasing based on my symptoms and she said she would have Carmen look at it as well and contact me back. I reiterated to the nurse how much I was struggling and that now I was feeling extremely depressed. Monday August 20th (6 days after my initial visit) came and went and I STILL hadn't heard from Carmen. If they did want me to decrease medication there was no direction given on how much and no new script called in. I was incredibly desperate, in a deep black hole of depression, every step was like walking through mud, my thinking was so slow I couldn't function, and had been missing work since Thursday August 16th. I ended up missing so much work that I had to cancel my summer vacation and I will send my family on vacation next week without me. I decided I was done trusting something so important to an office that seemed to have lost track of me even after I told them 3 times how much I was suffering. So I hit up Google reviews looking for a Doctor's office that I could trust. The office I chose had a reviewer state that she had never waited more than 24 hours for a call back......that's the office for me. As of today, August 24th (10 days after my appointment) I still have not heard back from Carmen. read more

I went to see Dr biscup. his consultation was great. he listens to the patient really well and ask many questions. I do recommend him. I will see how my insurance policy will work with that provider. However there are some unfortunate things happened. Dr. Jeff Akerson, when I was told that I can see him until Dr. biscup became available, he saw my referral "kubat pharmacist" and said right away,,," I don't want to waste your time, I don't do hormonal, I don't care" So what this Dr said was that if you have a hormonal deficiency, he does not care to treat you at all. he did not want ME to WASTE his time. it is pretty sad that I am pretty sure he will treat guys's impotent due to testosterone deficiency, but not women's???? also They did not admit the mistake NOT TO call my medication right away,,,so now I have to wait 5 days or so,,,,,, read more

We live in Bennington and have been looking for good Dr. to help with my many health issues. Dr. Biskup has been really good. But the reason for low rating is their receptionists. Ordered supplements. Called the office to confirm availability. It took them over 3 hours to call back to "confirm" they had my supplements so had to have my husband get them the next day. He drives 40min to Bellevue. When he gets there, the receptionist says they don't have them. Then gives attitude "Well, did you call in to check?" He tells them that I indeed had. "Well we (2 receptionists) are the only two normally at the front desk" This all being said in a snotty way. So my husband wasted 80 minutes of his day off and gas b/c of their attitude and lack of professionalism. Mainly from the older receptionist. It's too bad that a great doc like Dr. Biskup has such crappy staff to give you first impressions. read more

My family has been coming to Dr. Saniuk at Bellevue Family Practice for 30+ years, and we've feel we have received very good medical care from him and his staff. Our recent encounters with PA's Chrissy Svoboda and Emma Edwards have been very positive. Each appointment feels relaxed and focused, with the emphasis on both immediate solutions and long-term health improvement. It's really clear that the practitioners are constantly improving their knowledge and skill through advanced training, and they are friendly and professional at all times. read more

Emma Edwards PA is absolutely wonderful. She has been treating me for awhile now as well as my new baby girl. Everyone recommends a Pediatric Dr. But I wanted my daughter in good hands. I know that if something came up they can refer me to a specialist. I have been a patient of Bellevue Family Practice for 11 years now. Dr Biskup is also amazing. But I just can't say enough about Emma, Jill her nurse and Annie. The front desk girls even helped me out to the car, because I just had a c section and they helped me with my baby girl with the car seat. Just all around a great place, and family oriented. Life is scarey as a new mom, and Emma already knows I'm a worry wart. I love this office, and I pray Emma never leaves. :) read more

I've been a patient of Dr Biskup for several years. He's great. Probably one of the best family doctors in the area. The problem is the billing department. There's a problem with my bill every single time I go. Don't waste your time talking to the billing dep't lady. She has a Masters Degree in lip service. You'll leave there madder than when you came in. Calling her doesn't help either, especially when you leave a message saying you have a billing question. That must be clue meaning "don't call them back". Because of that, I'm switching to a different health care provider. read more
