It was a month to month membership and they billed me for 4 months I wasn't a member, even though I kept emailing them asking them to stop. At first they said they'd handle it, then they stopped answering my emails altogether. Who knows how much more money they would have taken if I hadn't called my bank. Oh, also I was sick with cancer when they did all this to me. That's why I had to stop training. So that's what I came here to say: 1) DO NOT give them your checking account, give them your Credit Card. This will protect you if they do the same to you. 2) If they keep billing you for multiple months after you cancel, like they did to me, you will have to call your bank to stop the charges and get your bank to fight with them to get your money back. Mine was Bank of America, thank goodness they make it so easy to dispute fraudulent charges. And thank goodness for my friends who own a the Krav Maga studio in another city, for giving me the advice on how to handle a gym that won't stop billing me. I honestly wonder how many people don't know to do that, and how many people's money they "accidentally" keep taking even after the membership was cancelled.

Some of the info was a refresher, some brand new. I also appreciated that alternative moves were suggested, like for folks with bad knees, or the guidance for a woman using a cane. Everyone can benefit from this class! To answer the questions most people asked me: The class is kept to a small size, about 12 people. It's only for women, trans, and non-binary; no men. Folks in the class ranged from teen to 60s--I loved seeing mothers and daughters taking the class together. About half of the physical practice involved a punching bag dummy, and the other half involved hands-on practice with classmates, which was necessary, helpful, but also a bit awkward at times. But, I got over it, and got a lot out of it.

I started training here this year with my daughter, she is brand new to jiu jitsu and to this area. Seeing her confidence bloom as she learned and made friends has been worth every penny. Her younger sister just started here after begging to join her older sister. She has a blast and after class she always falls asleep exhausted, no more crazy bedtime (definitely a plus!) This is NOT TRUE, they will not refund any portion of your tuition if once you get into the program you find that the services offered are not appropriate or safe for your particular situation. Fauzia is NOT certified to perform EMDR which can be detrimental for people who have certain trauma experiences, especially if they deal with issues such as PTSD as I do. I have tried to work out a resolution with the company for over 2 months and have lost the money invested despite the wording of their refund policy. The only upside is now I know I made the right decision not to trust Fauzia with my mental emotional health and safety.
