A tour was available, but it was limited to the first floor only. Not a lot of ground to cover there. Lots of people participating in the tour commented on that. Then, again, it's a free tour. Cameras were installed recently only because of repeated damage and auto thefts. And they seem to be working -- there have been no more theft or damage problems in the garages. The other tenants who have been living here for over 10years don't have their apartments in good shape either. The reviewer that says there's a cat bed on top of a car, is right. The bldg manager feeds stray cats and won't clean up after. I would never recommend this place. The only way they're getting people to live there is by monthly rent instead of a lease agreement. That's how I did it. But I'm glad I got out. Gives me jitters thinking about this housing.

I totally understand the responsibility of building management. She could have informed me at least so that we were not expecting. OMG This place is great!…read more Just sold my startup in SF and was looking to reinvent myself with a more trendy bohemian vibe when I found this place. Went to Burning Man for the first time last year (found a JavaScript exploit in the ticketing queue, so I was able to score 50 tickets for me and my friends without waiting in line) and really fell in love with the whole "artsy" thing. If you're not familiar with Burning Man, it's basically Coachella with fewer headliners. One of the sherpas at my plug-and-play camp who had edgy tattoos and was into that fire spinny stuff mentioned this place. It's got everything: art drawn on the walls in the hallways, shattered glass on the sidewalk out front, people who do art and fire stuff. Pros: - My West Elm chandelier looks absolutely gorgeous hanging from the high ceiling. - SF friends think I'm edgy and cool now. - I think I accidentally learned how to do something called an "anti-spin". Cons: - No Philz Coffee within walking distance. - Delivery robots have a hard time navigating the sidewalks. - My Model S has been vandalized eight times in the week since I moved in. I'm fairly certain that someone urinated in the backseat. - I get lost every time I try to retrieve my mail and have to ask for help getting back to my unit. - My friends are scared to visit... On second thought, maybe this isn't the right place for me.

There are at least five beautiful, blossoming courtyards and it seems like everyone plays an instrument. See a wall without artwork hanging or painted? Do something with it. Downsides: Everyone lives closely. If you don't want to live in a commune, don't live here. It also looks like this place would be vulnerable to fires. And it's not in the best neighborhood. But it's gated, and it seems like a lot of really level-headed people have been doing just fine here for a long time. If you're not going to live there, at least try to visit.
