Don't even get me started on the manicure. The file was not filing properly so I have uneven nails and not the shape I wanted, even after asking twice. Then I had to ask her to clean my cuticle up several times for different fingers. Again no base coast and since I got clear, only placed the top coat. What a waste of time and money. Additionally the place needs an update badly. Stained everything, broken fabric, the fans are in shambles...never again!

A few seat locations need to be reupholstered, but they cover those areas with a towel. This place looks much nicer and cleaner than most nail salons. There is usually a movie playing. If you're the only one having your nails done, you could usually ask them to play a different movie. Let's get started with the All Out Diva Pedicure that I pamper myself with. Nica (Veronica) soaks my feet in nice warm water. She applies a mask onto my feet and calves, then wraps it with cellophane. She proceeds to cut my toe nails and cuticles. Afterwards, an exfoliation scrub is massaged onto my calves and feet. They are then wrapped with a towel. After ? minutes, the scrub is rinsed off with warm water. A warm towel is used to remove whatever might have been left behind. The calves and feet are massaged with an oil. Lotion is then added onto the calves and feet in which the massage continues. As one calf/foot is being massaged, the other side is covered with a towel. You'll need to let her know if you want a soft or hard massage. Afterwards, both legs are covered with a towel. The towels are removed and my feet are individually placed within plastic bags filled with paraffin wax. Booties are placed on top of the plastic bags, and the calves are wrapped with a towel. After ? minutes, the towel, bootie, plastic and wax is removed. The calves and feet are wiped down with a dry towel. An under coat is applied onto my toe nails. A double coat of the base coat is applied. My French tips are then painted on. The top coat is the end of my pedicure. I then go under the fans to dry the nail polish. Sounds awesome right? That is because it is! All that wonderful pampering for 1000 Pesos. I usually come mid-week, and I like being Nica's last customer of the day. I make sure I tip Nica well, because it is my way of thanking her for the amount of time she takes to pamper me.

It was nice and quiet, until a group of three chatty women came in. I was ushered into a common room with dim lights, recliners and pillows. Good thing I brought my ear buds so I could listen to music on my phone: there was no background music playing. I had two people working on me. The manicurist wore a mask and used a bright lamp to work under. I noticed that the towel under my hand was stained with nail polish and had a hole in it: not a good impression *sigh* The person who did my foot spa and pedicure did a good job: foot soak, salt scrub, foot and lower leg massage and pedicure. I liked the color of my nails but the shape didn't look natural. One of the nail extensions wasn't completely connected (see pic), so my real nail tip was exposed and prone to having things getting stuck in the space in between. The extensions were suppose to last two weeks but they only lasted only one since I had to do laundry. They did look pretty in pictures, not close up though. One positive observation I have about acrylic polygel nail extensions is that they are strong and durable. They were also easy to remove myself, which saved me a trip to the salon. Like most nail salons in the Philippines, they do not have massage chairs with a jet stream basin, but instead chairs and foot stools. I opted for a foot spa, which included a short foot soak in a rubber basin they brought out (less than 5 min for me), callus removal, cuticle care, and polish application. My service was done by Pauline who did an awesome job. 10/10 would request her again. She was thorough with my feet spending about 30 min with the foot file, transforming my callused man-feet back to its baby soft form. She was gentle with my cuticles and applied the polish perfectly -- just up against my cuticles, but without touching them. The shellac on my hands were done by Grace who did a decent job. They weren't to my standard as I'm picky about how clean and close the polish is around the cuticle, but still clean enough to be acceptable since they still looked neat. She definitely nicked me a couple of times with the cuticle nippers, but drew no blood. The nail technicians here have a difficult time communicating in English, but they have decent shop talk and you can get by if you don't know Tagalog. The polish selection is small and there is an up charge for certain polishes. They don't have OPI shellac, which is what I was looking for. I wanted a dark blue shellac, but the only one available was imported from Japan and had about a 700 php up charge, which wasn't cool. I'd probably come again for the price, but would specifically request Pauline.
