Horrendous experience!! 45 minutes before the movers were to arrive I received a text advising they would need to Re-schedule. it took a couple of hours to get a hold of someone who could help me-there were no trucks - we rescheduled for the following Friday-i cut my vacation short and had to use points to rebook my flight to do this- again they were a no show(even after guaranteeing they would be there!) When I called it went from they are running late to they can come but can't stay long- rescheduled again to the next morning at 8 am- again a no show. Every time this happened I got a new case manager- Deshana was the first- I emailed her the morning of the scheduled move to confirm we were still good to go but she didnt reply. when nobody showed up the second time Kristen was assigned to my case and had no knowledge of the first incident. Absolutely terrible moving service. I hired them to move boxes and furniture from my previous house to a temporary storage unit and when I came to move everything out I was horrified at how it was stacked in there. The chairs seemed as if they had just been thrown in the unit with no order and many of the wooden furniture items had scratches and chunks missing, not to mention the washing machine had a hole punched through the front of it. Many of my boxes labeled fragile had other boxes stacked on top of them and were crushed at the bottom of piles. Overall, if you want to just get rid of stuff, this company is great, but if you're trying to move anything that you want to keep, hire any other company. read more

I hired two Bellhops to help me rearrange a storage unit to maximize space and move additional items into storage. Frank and Josh were fantastic! Very polite, but also careful with my items and great at visualizing how to make the best use of space in my storage unit. They arrived on time and worked more efficiently than any movers I've ever used. They weren't there to waste time and overcharge me. They genuinely seemed like they wanted to make me happy with their work and it was appreciated. In fact, I booked them for two hours, but they finished the job in one hour and that's all I had to pay for, so the guys got a generous tip because I felt bad they weren't going to earn two hours pay. If you need help with any kind of local move, getting kids into or out of the dorms at any local school, or if you're elderly or have elderly parents, or if you're just single and have no friends to rope into helping you move, definitely use a Bellhops crew! I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

I am not one to write reviews because I've worked in customer service my entire adult life. I get that things happen. But Bellhop was the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. There was a snowstorm across the entire Midwest a day before our move. Because of this we were worried our move would be canceled or rescheduled. We reached out to the company and they reassured us that the movers would still be there but they wanted to push the move time from 8am to 9am. No problem. The day of our move 9am rolls around and no movers are anywhere to be seen. We called for an update. We were told they were getting us an ETA and the driver had confirmed he would be there. 10am comes and goes, 11am, noon. We are constantly having to call and ask for updates. We are constantly being told they have people ready and are wasting for an update. No one is keeping us in the loop unless we call them. And we have new homeowners moving into our old house in less than 24 hours. Finally we are told they would like to reschedule the move to the next day because they have only one driver & one mover to help us out. At this point it's noon. We have been sitting around for hours. We have our entire life packed in boxes and our furniture disassembled. And again, new homeowners moving into the home in the morning. The snow is melted and roads are cleared by now so snow was a non issue. We also didn't trust they would even send anyone the next day. So we told them to go ahead and send the driver and the one mover. We called around and got some of our friends to help us out. The truck and mover showed up a little after 1pm and we all spent the next 6 hours loading the moving truck ourselves. The driver & loader that showed up were amazing. So helpful and professional. They showed up the text group chat with all the other movers. They had all texted in around 2am that morning to let our moving coordinator know they wouldn't be coming in. So Ben (the coordinator) left us hanging for hours with no answers knowing he had no movers. And again, we understand things happen. But we were lied to multiple times and told people were coming when they never were. We would have respected honesty way more. So in the end not everything fit onto the truck. Likely because we had a bunch of amateurs loading it who didn't know how to Tetris things in. So what does Bellhop do? Absolutely nothing. They told us they would not send out another truck. Even if we were willing to pay for it. We had a garage full of stuff that we had to clear out of the house before 9am the next morning. So we were forced to rent a uhaul and load all of that stuff ourselves. Bellhop gave us a discount that was laughable given the insane lack of customer service that was provided. Lies, no communication & complete unprofessional behavior by the people in office. The discount didn't even cover the cost of the uhaul we had to rent, let alone the the gas for it or hotel we had to pay for because it was 11pm by the time this day was over. Thankfully our drop off went smoothly. Because of the driver, Gary. He coordinated with the unloaders to make sure that they showed up at the correct time and the correct location. Because shocker, they had the incorrect time & location and no one would answer our phone calls to confirm in office. The guys that unloaded were great. Professional, on time & great attitudes. However, I would NEVER consider using this company again. They were an absolute nightmare to work with and they absolutely don't care about their customers. The "project lead" arrived, and acted incredibly rude the entire time. He insisted upon moving the lighter boxes that I could move by myself first. This took him much longer than would usually be expected. I watched as he took phone calls beside the truck and carried one box at a time despite me supplying a dolly. When I confronted him about the length of time it was taking for the move, he stated that "he knew it would take longer than two hours to move my stuff." This is despite me living in a 900 ft.² apartment and only moving one bed and seven other pieces of furniture. He then stated that he was trying to call his boss to complain about me. After leaving to "call his boss." He never returned. This left me with the other mover completely shocked. I was still left with all of my heavy furniture. I had to call in friends from their outside employment to help me move because I was on a deadline. This required us completely unpacking the truck that he had previously packed as it was packed incorrectly and was not safe for transport. This was truly one of the worst experiences. This may moving, stressful situation, even more stressful. On top of all of this, when I contacted bellhops, they stated that " since the second mover stayed for the entirety of the time, they would not reimburse me anything. And, this is despite the solitary mover and myself not being able to complete my move. This was beyond ridiculous. It was twice as expensive as the service I used at my destination. I've never been treated this poorly by business in my entire life. Do yourself a favor and you simply moving instead. read more

This was our second time using Bellhops. We had 2 captains bail on us in a row which was unfortunate. Only two out of three guys showed up for the move. We called HQ and one of the interns came to help out. He really went above an beyond for us and we greatly appreciate it. This not only shows what a great person he is, but it also shows that the company goes our of their way to help their customers. All of the guys were so polite, had positive attitudes, and had GREAT work ethic. They were all eager to help. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Absolutely the Most inept useless guys I've ever seen. They sent 3 guys only 1 of which had any clue on what to do the other two were 2 people sharing 1/2 a brain. They debated 15 minutes over which one of them would pick up a box, shuffled their feet like they were old men and 1 of them couldn't stop texting and posting on his phone. They also had NO clue on how to properly pack a truck...couldnt get the contents is an 850 sq.ft. apt and a 10'×10' storage unit on a 24' truck. In addition to having wood furniture that is scratched and gouged I have upholstery that is filthy, open water bottles were left in upholsted chairs on the truck so I have mold on fabric and to top it off there are still items in storage in Chattanooga and I'm in Florida. Awful experience, movers were amatuers, age range 20-30, was sent amatuers to do a professional job, some of the workers showed up 3 hrs late for a 9am start. Ruined our leather recliner, torn on both sides, damaged the motor, now the recliner is broke and only offered us $175 until i threatened to contact corporate then it was increased to $225, whoptie do like that would cover our damage, I would NOT recommend using this company, very incompetant and do not accommadate their customers, to keep a business striving and exceeding, you MUST keep customers happy and they failed meserably. read more

Do not use this company. I was charged $1700 for a 2 day move that should have only been 4 hrs. I moved from a 2 BR apartment to a house 2 mints down the road. These young kids don't know how to move in a timely manner and are slow as molasses. I literally started helping move boxes and had them place everything in the garage to save time. This move should have been no more than $1100. Hard to get honest work these days. read more

We've used this service twice and have been pleased both times. I used them to carry the heavy furniture (hey my father taught me to work smart not hard!). Although we had different crews each time, the movers showed up on time and worked hard until the job was done. WORST Moving Company I have ever experienced!!!! My quote: "Labor Rate (2 bellhops + truck) $129/hr, reserved 3 hours, Total estimate $387" What I received?? 1 hour before the move? A phone call asking what I was moving... THAT should have sent off a rather HUGE Alarm to begin with. And as Keith G. Points out below, I had the same experience but even WORSE, so here goes. 1) I was required to hire a extra bellhop to move my dresser, even though this person NEVER even touched the dresser, and stuck around for my 3 hour move, that turned in a FIVE hour move. This extra person constantly vanished or couldn't be found. So I'm being expected to pay someone for 5 hours work when he only moved a few small pictured and every time I saw him he kept asking how much more? When will we be done? This is a 2 man job, why am I here? 2) If you have movers show up and two of the three spout that this is their "FIRST MOVE", just hit yourself with a hammer, because it'll definitely hurt less and cost less. 3) It's true, they do shove things in their own cars, and make you sign a "Liability Waiver" for anything they deem too expensive. I had to sign a digital "Liability Waiver" for the entire move before it was over, and it was disguised as "LOAD" meaning everything once I read my email. 4) It took me an extra day to move the items that wouldn't fit on the truck, things hid in other closets, and some they simply refused to put on the truck saying "It won't fit, we need room for our ramps and pack stuff". 5) Once on the road the driver as EXCELLENT!!, the only good point of the entire move. 6) Moving into storage was disaster #2. If you have 2 hands, why only carry a broom? That's a simple example of the entire move. My bed (Headboard, Footboard, Sideboards and slats? Every piece located in a different spot in storage) I will have to REDO the entire 10x15 storage unit just to find where everything is. Dryer stacked on top of washer, cracking the digital front panel, Fridge and Freezer, both with doors closed like a non-idiot knows NOT to do. Cherry Dining room table on the floor upside down and pushed around on the concrete floor totally destroyed with scratches. Chairs just thrown any place they saw fit. 7) Scratches all over my new bedroom suit. The list goes on and on. If you want everything you own damaged, please use BELLHOPS. However, if you value your belongings, DO NOT EVER use these "College Kids On-Call" moving idiots. A respectable moving company wants to SEE what they are moving, and I should have remembered that. What I'm being billed for is almost $900. The damages I have incurred are currently being estimated as running into the THOUSANDS.... What is my compensation for all the damages done by the college kids they hire to do the moving? Absolutely ZERO. They even refused a discount on the move for this unneeded kid and his 5 hours of doing nothing. All I have received is a email telling me "You need to pay us the full amount within 24 hours, Sir. I tried calling you and you didn't answer". NO, you did NOT call me to discuss this because you know this move was total B.S. And who's paying for all the damages? "You signed a Total waiver of Liability, Sir". My move date was 5/24/2018 and I will NEVER use or recommend this farce call Bellhops again to anyone, but rather WARN everyone of what they might as well expect if you hire them. *** UPDATE *** After a few emails and a very nice conversation with the owner of Bellhops, This issue is now resolved. My bill was reduced to the original quote, and a review of the Chattanooga Bellhops Office is under way at this time. My hope, after this incident, is that their great service rating is restored to a 5-star as so many others have experienced before me. read more

Please people...BEWARE OF THIS MOVER! I totally get that they have a high rating, but they DO NOT deliver the high quality service that you need. I hired a moving truck and movers to move my belongings. You would think that they would do that by placing my valuables in their truck. WRONG! The two most expensive things that I own are my big screen TV's which instead of carefully placing in their truck, maybe covering with a blanket, maybe securing it in place, the mover STUCK THEM IN THE BACK OF HIS CAR! I had previously bubble wrapped and shrink wrapped them, and when asking what the movers were doing, was told "don't worry, they'll be safer in the back of my car." I asked if maybe they could be secured in the delivery truck, and was again assured of their safety in his car. After delivery because of being bubble wrapped, the TV was plugged in, and the screen was shattered, and the second TV had a 2" scratch (no biggie) Immediately I contacted Bellhops and was told to complete a claim form and take pictures which was done. Told by them that they were only liable for 70 cents per pound. If they did what I hired them to do....I would just suck it up and learn my lesson, but the guy stuck my $800 big screen in the back of his car...didn't protect it properly, and destroyed my property and offered me something like $35 as compensation. NOT A DEPENDABLE OR TRUSTWORTHY SERVICE! BUYER BEWARE!! read more

Was the worst experience we have ever had moving. They damaged many of our nice big pieces of furniture very badly. Wrapped the refrigerator with packing tape leaving a sticky residue all over it. Left our furniture in a huge pile in the Living Room for us to deal with after closing on our new house. Also folded a very nice area rug in half leaving it damaged as well as our dining room table on its side. I would not recommend them and will certainly never use them again. read more

I just needed help with big furnitures (bed/desk/couch etc.) and purchased a groupon for two movers for an hour from Bellhops. They were awesome with great attitude. I have moved couple times previously, and used different moving companies. Some movers I had definitely had a shittiest attitude ever with a higher price. My experience with Bellhops was different. The "captain" Luis and "Wingman" Sergio both really knew what they were doing. They didn't damage any of the furnitures/boxes I had. I was moving from Florida and packed the truck up myself down there. My sister told me about Bellhops to unload the truck when I got to Chattanooga. I didn't want to spend a lot of money (because we all know just moving in general is expensive)! I looked into it and called to talk to someone. They were SO friendly and extremely helpful! They gave me all the information I needed and even sent me an email receipt/confirmation 2 minutes after I got off the phone. I booked 3 movers for 4 hours since I was unpacking my entire house. They sent an email about the movers that would be helping me at my house. The three bellhops that showed up (Alex, Alex and James) were phenomenal! So helpful, careful with each piece of furniture, extremely personable - awesome! The guys have an app that allows them to check in and out so the moving time is exact. You also receive an email right after they clock out so you can see the exact time. It was great! They were very efficient and only took 2 hours! Our moving day was long and grueling but our bellhops were lifesavers for the process. Both Brandon and Eric came with big muscles and outstanding attitudes. The move took longer than expected but that was no fault of theirs. Our new place is on the third floor of an old brick building in downtown Chattanooga. Upon our arrival we found that the building's only elevator was out of order. Not cool. Understandably, Eric and Brandon told me they'd have to pace themselves - BUT they didn't flinch at all in getting things going. Thankfully an after-hours repair man showed up, and about an hour later the elevator was fixed. All in all our Bellhops went above and beyond to carefully move all the items, big and small, to our new place. The guys were extremely helpful in getting my move done. The only thing that I would have liked would be to have had the option of having them stay longer. Because I had my move earlier in the day they had other moves to go to in the afternoon so anything that didn't get moved in the time period that they were there had to be moved by myself. She went above and beyond to make sure we were re-booked in our preferred time slot, even though they were full that day.
