    Wanna play?
    Jenna G.

This little gem is tucked away on the far side of downtown Mooresville and I'm tempted to rate it one star just to keep it a secret. Bellingham is a newer park and it shows...the play areas are more thoughtfully laid out. The trails link up to existing neighborhoods. There are various parking areas. The playgrounds (there are three) are laid out so little kids and big kids are on separate equipment but located close enough to each other that an adult can stand between the two and easily watch both. Even better, mom or dad can put on their comfy kicks and burn some calories on the interwoven walking path. This bonus is greatly appreciated by us moms! The third play area has swings for bigger and smaller kids. There are slides, rocking toys, climbing walls and more. On the outskirts you will find playing fields for various sports, tennis courts and, my favorite, shaded walking trails through the surrounding wooded area. Foot bridges over streams, squirrels skittering across the paths, natural treasures for little boys to explore...all add up to a winning combination for families. Four stars for amenities and forethought of planning. One star deducted for too few restrooms and even worse, they've been locked when we've visited.

I love this park! Me and my friend always take her kids here to play and they love it. But the thing they love most about it is not the playground or the structures it's the trail walk. They love to go to the bridge and look at the water and just look at all the trees and insects. This park is the best park that Mooresville, NC has and they do a great job of keeping it clean. I encourage everyone to come to Bellingham Park!!!

It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. It's nice loop to walk around and there is plenty of seating, benches, trash receptables, plus restrooms. Not sure if there is normally a fee to park/enter, but I did not have to pay on my visit. Highly recommend for a leisurely excursion! @azfitfoodfun

Jetton Park is perfect for hot days. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

You'll find a few kayak and paddleboard launch spots and several racks of them that are stored here. They are also available for rent from the Town. The preserve is far enough from the highway that you will hear almost no vehicle noise. The trails are quite rough with exposed roots and fallen trees. This is not handicapped accessible. There are a few benches scattered about including some that face the water. That's where I sat with my takeout lunch today to enjoy being near the water. Entrance to the park is at the west side along Jetton Street behind the Davidson Day School. There is absolutely no access from Spinnaker Court. There is free street parking on both sides of the roadway. Always walk with a friend! [Review 13399 overall, 718 of 2020.]

I am incredibly impressed with Village Park ... and the city of Kannapolis as a whole! My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!
