I can honestly not say enough amazing things about Belly to Cradle/Bloomwell Birth Center or their fabulous staff. From our first time meeting them they have been nothing but exceptional! They walked through a miscarriage with us then when we got pregnant again they were with us every step of the way. They allowed my 9 and 5 year old to take part in exams, finding their brother's heartbeat and measurements. They were there for us during preterm labor. Then when birth finally came i couldn't have been happier with the birth! After 2 unmediated hospital births I finally got my out of hospital water birth with the best ladies!! My 5 year old asks when we will go back and tells me often that if we have another baby we have to have it with Amber and Lindsay! I couldn't agree more. read more

My daughter just had her first baby here on Dec 10. What a wonderful experience! We all got to know Amber and Lindsay through the pregnancy, and every question we had was answered with knowledge, every concern with patience, no detail was too small for them to address (as this was her first), and most of all, they shared the joy of my daughter's pregnancy and birth with her (this makes a huge difference to the mom-to-be). The center is so cozy and homey, yet everything a mom might need is at hand (without the sterile feeling of a hospital). I've had 6 homebirths, so my expectation was high when our daughter and her hubby started looking for a midwife. When we moved here from PA, I was worried we wouldn't find a midwife as experienced as the one we had for our babies. Thankfully, we found Belly to Cradle. From the first appointment to the birth, I was so impressed with Amber and Lindsay. Their knowledge and experience are top-notch. (I asked some pretty tough questions and nothing threw them.) Their confidence is contagious- when they walk into the room you sigh with relief (aaahh, it's all going to be fine!). Their love for mamas and their babies is evident in their care. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. If I were still young enough to have another baby, I would have my baby here! read more

Honestly one of the most medically negligent experiences I have ever had. My water broke around 3am and I had an appointment with Amber at 12pm that day. I wasn't experiencing any painful contractions and she was adamant that they did not want to omit me into their facility unless I was in 'active labor'. When I saw her for my appointment she told me my water did not break (even though it had) and sent me home. Around 7pm that night I was having painful contractions but she told me they weren't close enough together to be omitted. So I stayed on my toilet at home in pain, until I couldn't take it anymore. We were late showing up because I couldn't walk, Amber tried to leave the facility while we were 15 minutes away (even though she had already collected the 7000$) and told my mother in law she wouldn't wait for us. We were told they would bring me a wheelchair but they did not. The entire time my body was ready to push she told me not to. The entire staff treated me and my family like we were bothering them. Her and her staff left us alone for several hours while I was trying to "hold my baby in" and left all of the work to my doula (which is not affiliated with Bloomwell at all). At one point Amber told me to push and then to stop pushing. It was very obvious her and her staff were all sleeping in the other room. We even heard them talking about me and saying I was annoying because of the sounds of my pain. I begged for nitrous which they offer and one of the nurses told me to inhale while I was in a contraction and the second nurse treated me like I was stupid and told me to inhale before the contraction. I don't think any of them there are properly trained. They didn't offer me or my family any water or anything and showed zero hospitality. I labored at the facility until the morning when Amber realized she had made a mistake, that my baby was stuck in my birth canal with her cord wrapped around her throat. She yelled at all of us and told us to shut up and told me I was pushing incorrectly. She had to manually pull my baby out of my vagina, meanwhile I was about to pass out because I wasn't getting enough time to breathe and had not been properly cared for. Amber ripped my baby out of my vagina, and when my baby came out she was floppy and non responsive. No one knew if she was going to be ok. Then my she started to breathe and she gave her to me. Shortly after she pooped and threw up poop all over me and no one really cared enough to help me clean it off. I was so tapped out and dehydrated I couldn't function. I really wanted to do a birthing center because I idealized natural birth but this place is super unregulated. Also, as we were leaving we overheard the staff bragging about getting bonuses for selling other patients placentas. Do yourself a favor and don't spend your money here. read more

The doula I hired was excellent. She stayed with me through my long grueling labor and delivery. She's not currently working to pursue further education but I would hire B2C again if I had the chance. Amber and Lindsey are phenomenal human beings as well and I'm so lucky to have found them. I highly recommend hiring Belly to Cradle. They're honest, responsible, and have the utmost integrity. They are true advocates for safe birthing practices. read more

I am so thankful to have had Hollie as my doula. I was a first time mom and the more research about labor and delivery I did the more I realized I wanted to hire a doula. I called Belly to Cradle and had a meet and greet with Hollie. After meeting with her, my husband and I thought she would be a great addition to our birth team. The two prenatal visits we had were very informative. She taught us about everything from the birthing process, to my birth rights ,to the wide variety of things we could do to help deal with pain during birth. When I went into labor I was having extreme back pain. We got to the hospital where I was put into an intake room and stayed there for an hour. I told my husband I couldn't deal with the pain and even though I had wanted to try and go natural I didn't think I could. When we finally were put into a room I immediately asked for the epidural. As they were prepping things Hollie got to the hospital and immediately was a calming presence. She turned out the harsh overhead lights and asked if I would like to try some different moves and counter pressure to deal with the pain. After doing these things I was able to reset and decided to hold off on the epidural. I had a couple of issues during birth but was able to have a medication free natural childbirth as I had wanted. I really believe if Hollie had not been there the outcome would have been different and I most likely would have ended up in an emergency c-section. I went into labor as prepared as I could be, but as the pain started to ramp up I felt like I was drowning. My husband was a great help and support but he could only help so much. Having Hollie there was the lifeline we needed. She kept us calm and grounded and helped me find my inner strength and encouraged me to keep going. I believe every one should have a doula and would highly recommend Hollie. read more

Belly to cradle is such a great organization and I'm so happy I used their services for my birth. I used Lindsey as my doula and she was great! Every so often she'd check in with me during my pregnancy and was always available to answer any questions I had. During my labor, she and my husband worked great as a team! My husband would be there comforting me and encouraging me, while Lindsey was massaging me, getting me cold washcloths and anything I needed as well as instructing me on various birthing positions that me and my husband had no clue about. She continued to check in with me postpartum. I felt so cared for and wouldn't hesitate to use Lindsey again for future births! Highly recommend!! read more

Several of our friends recommended BTC and we couldn't be happier that we decided to make Amber a part of our birth experience. The education she provided leading up to the birth was invaluable and was vital in helping me make educated decisions before, during and after the birth of my son. During the labor process, Amber's support was intuitive, non-obtrusive and generally just incredible. She anticipated my wife and I's needs and was a huge part of my wife's success in achieving a completely natural and intervention-free birth. We elected to engage one of the lactation consultants, Jen, after we arrived home and her guidance greatly contributed to the success my wife is currently having breastfeeding our son. I cannot say enough positive things about Belly to Cradle. When searching for a Doula, Amber not only responded immediately to my inquiry, she instantly calmed my fears as a first time mom. We opted to do the childbirth education classes with Amber and received invaluable information that made us feel prepared to welcome our child. We successfully employed several of the techniques Amber taught us during labor. We also attended the breastfeeding class with Kendall prior to delivery which also helped us feel ready to tackle breastfeeding. We chose Christina as our Doula and she could not have been more amazing. She checked in on me throughout my pregnancy and was an absolute rockstar during labor and delivery. My birth experience was so positive and I attribute that to Christina. She helped keep me calm, knew when to change positions, offered massages and other tools to enable me to labor naturally as I had envisioned. She was a great support to both me and my husband throughout delivery and afterwards. We've also received excellent lactation support from Allegra since we've been home. She has visited us at home and has also been so responsive via phone/text. Belly to Cradle is simply amazing! We hired Jen to be out lactation consultant after our first baby. She came to our house to make sure we were on track and gave me the encouragement that I needed to get through those first few weeks. She was able to get me through the beginning stages and knew when it was time for me to see a doctor due to thrush and mastitis. My lo is 15 months old and still going strong nursing!
