Lakewood is one of the biggest and best suburbs of Denver, resting only 10 minutes from downtown. It has its own downtown with free parking, a decent set of stores, restaurants, and bars and the best park in Denver. Like all 'burbs, it has some chains, but Belmar is an easy place to find/do just about everything you need without venturing to the big D, and it offers some charm that you won't find in other shopping malls around the city. read more

Belmar is so great. I miss living right in it. Lots of free parking, both lots and garages, which is nice. It has a movie theater, up scale bowling alley, lots of shopping and restaurants, plus a World of Beer. You can easily spend an entire day here. There is also a free Belmar shuttle that takes you around the surrounding area, including the Wadsworth light rail station. The only thing about the shops there are that the chain ones (like Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, etc) are smaller than most, so a lot less inventory. Also, because of the large amount of pedestrian traffic, driving through it can be a pain. Best to just park on the outskirts and walk around. read more

3.5 stars. Belmar one of the 'newer' shopping centers to spring up after the old Villa Italia Mall got leveled on this very spot. Some parts of Belmar I really like. I do like some of the restaurants and the movie theater there. The businesses though are kind of hit and miss. I would not really call what shops are there 'well rounded' like a model shopping center should be but some of the surrounding stores outside of the actual Belmar thing try to attempt to find that balance. Lakewood is truly a suburbia and does not seem to have a downtown of its own like some of its other suburbia neighbors like Arvada, Littleton and Edgewater. Belmar is an attempt to make this section of Lakewood have a downtowny kind of feel and even have some city offices there. The problem with that is the people that work in Belmar in the rental and residential sector want you to get wound up that you are in Belmar and it is soooo worth paying high rent. It is not really worth it with what is there. You can pay the same rental prices and live much closer to Denver and have a wider range of shopping and services near you. Don't get me wrong, occasionally I like to visit Belmar and look at the lights they put up for Christmas but the area is really best to be on a brief visitor status than try to get an apartment here and stay here with a sort of 'permanence' of 6 months to a year or so. read more

Over the weekend my out-of-state parents were in town and basically we came here. I like downtown but my parents didn't want to deal with walking far, paying for a garage parking parking, the street rats that loom at every corner downtown...blah blah blah. For me I love downtown Denver. Anyways, we came here to BelMar since they saw it in a cheesy hotel magazine thing. It's clean, it's perfect for my mom since she loves upscale suburbia clothing stores without dealing with massive mall or masses of teenagers walking around. So we shopped, we ate, and had a good afternoon over the Memorial Day weekend. My parents thought it was a nice place too. It's a cool place for middle class families or older couples. read more

As far as shopping malls go, I really enjoy the open air environment of Belmar. It has a bit of everything: clothing shops, restaurants, a movie theater and a Whole Foods, as well as it's most recent additions: Super Target, Nordstrom Rack and Best Buy and in the winter there is a skating rink. 1 star off for the 2.5% Public Improvement Fee. read more

This shopping center is one of the highlights of Lakewood. It's no Highlands or Old Gaylord Street, but it is alright!

I used to love Belmar, including the great stores and the wonderful atmosphere. We went to trick or treat street for two years in a row though, and both times less than a third of the businesses participated. This resulted in long lines for the stores that did participate, and lots of frustrated kids and parents lining the street. For example, we spent over an hour to get through three lines. Not that three free pieces of bite size candy aren't nice for the kids, but in reality, standing in line for an hour just isn't worth it. We initially thought it was just a fluke last year, so we gave it another shot this year and it was still not a very fun experience. Since this is not a normal experience at other places we have been, at least not when we go to other outdoor malls like Southglenns or other festive celebrations geared toward small children, we will not be returning. We will also be doing our Christmas shopping elsewhere, since part of an outdoor mall usually includes a community atmosphere, and we really don't want to have a repeat negative experience at Belmar for the rest of the holidays. read more

Belmar has always been a really average shopping destination. It wants to seem nice, but there's a massive Target in the center. Take the time to go to Park Meadows. Much better than the wannabe soccer moms that frequent this area. read more

Belmar is a wonderful place to spend the day! They have all kinds of shops and speciality boutiques, to fit any budget. They also have hair salons, a movie theater,and plenty of restaurants to dine in,or take out,whatever food your heart desires! The outdoor area ,for dining , is covered with gorgeous trees, and has plenty of tables ,for seating. There are a few parking lots to park in for FREE, as well as metered parking on the streets, if you are just visiting for an item in a particular shop. I love BATH AND BODY WORKS and THE NORDSTROM RACK stores. There's even banking available at WELLS FARGO. And a new addition is a quaint candy shop with homemade treats to make your mouth water! It's easy to spend an entire day in this lovely shopping area, and you can even enjoy spa services( message,etc) at Belmar, to end your shopping experience in a relaxing and rejuvenating way! read more

Ample parking, but not planned for park and walk; more like park, walk, park, walk, etc. I was surprised, honestly, that there was a place this nice to shop at in Lakewood. Good variety of stores here I guess, it helped me pass the time while I was waiting for someone getting Lasik. I'm sure if I lived in the area I'd be a big fan, shopping here almost makes you forget you're in Lakewood for a moment and then you decide to stop into another store outside of the center on the opposite side of the road and remember where you are again. I live and spend almost all of my time in Belmar. It is such a cute, nice, clean, safe area. Lots of shops and restaurants like Victoria's Secret, Guess, etc. They keep it so clean. It's a great area to live in and to go out for lunch or dinner or just go shopping (walking distance to Whole Foods, Target, etc.) Plenty of free parking! read more

Love the italian festival, and the farmers markets! Needs more shops, but I heard that there is more stuff coming in 2011. Whole Foods rocks and so does The Oven. Great place to go catch a movie, and then get food after. Love the ice skating in the winter. It's okay. The mixed use and architectural upgrade from Villa Italia are nice. The integrated residences really liven up the area. Most of the shops are boutique and not too useful for every day shopping. There are some pretty good restaurants. Love the Italian festival held here. read more

I ordered an Rx on a monday, was charged immediately, and waited for 5 days for delivery. When it didn't arrive, I called and was told it wasn't in stock. They apologized for not calling me, apparently someone dropped the ball, but I see in yelp that's not the only time this has happened. Ended up ordering from another pharmacy. although monument pharmacy wasn't quite as cheap, I have never had a problem with them. read more

Wasabi's never fails to please me! Have taken family,friends and co-workers there and the food and customer service is always on the mark! The waitress Antia is always super friendly and is very attentive to the needs of our table. Wish every restaurant had a Antia, because she makes you feel like you are a guest in her home. I absolutely love belmar. First of all I live right down the street, so it is very convenient! I have actually worked at Victoria's Secret and White House Black Market. Both jobs I enjoyed during college. I love all of the restaurants in belmar. My favorites would be wasabi and champa street. Belmar defiantly has a good night life with world of beer and baker st. Pub. The ice skating ring is a plus! Great place for a date night! Get sushi go ice skating mad finish off with a movie at the theater. On Fridays and Saturdays there are definitely a lot of teenagers and middle school kids around but what can we do! Still very enjoyable! And it also feels like a safe place. There are security employees there at all times! work here, eat here, go to the spa, grocery shopping, get a work out at ballys or core power yoga! It's great and has everything you need! read more
