I had a great time checking out Beltline Brew Tours on Sunday. This was the first tour I've ever done with them and they gave Yelpers an opportunity to check out their all new tour "JOCO" tour for $30 (normally $45). I arrived with my friends to Natty Greene's a little before 1pm and checked in. The bus arrived right at 1pm and we were ready to go. I don't know if they always use the same transportation but I noticed they were using the Bridgebus that normally takes you from Raleigh to Durham and vice versa. The bus is an updated school bus and with that in mind be aware that you are probably going to sweat quite a bit on this bus especially in the summer month. This tour took us out to Johnston County which is about a 30min ride. I do wish that they provided some local brews on our way to the first destination. I've taken a few tours in the Charlotte area and we were given samples on our way to the breweries which was really nice plus the tour guide had an opportunity to interact more with the crowd, Overall though I enjoyed the tour I don't make it out to the JOCO breweries much because it's a little bit of a haul to be drinking and driving and this tour gives you the perfect opportunity to go out there worry free. We started the tour at Double Barley by far my favorite brewery in the area. They provided way more samples then I expected and the owner Larry gave a wonderful tour of the brewery. They also serve food at DB so you had the chance to order a snack before hitting the road again. Next up we headed to Clayton to visit Deep River Brewing. I've had plenty of Deep River beer but haven't been to the brewery yet and I was really impressed. Paul and his wife Lynn have made quite a business and it's a great brewery - I love their seasonal watermelon beer. We got to hang out at each brewery for a little while which I enjoyed. DR had Sol taco food truck out on Sunday which was awesome since they were on the top of my list of food trucks to check out. We headed on back to Natty Greene's where we were given some very generous samples of beers and finished up with our last tour. Will our tour guide is a super friendly guy and everyone seemed to have a great time. I look forward to checking out another tour soon!! read more

I gathered 11 friends and we did the special 7 locations tour offered on Feb 13th. We had an absolute blast! Our tour guide Tammy was fantastic and did a great job keeping our wild pack on schedule. The breweries were great for telling us a variety of stores rather than hearing the same brewing process at each one. We especially loved the breweries that allowed us to taste test several beers in small amounts and then choose a pint of our favorite. And of course the pulled pork bbq was delicious at the end. I enjoy trying lots of different beers and have been homebrewing for a couple of years now. That said I was really looking forward to this tour and was not disappointed. First, there was a mix of different backgrounds on the bus and everyone was really friendly. The tour guide, Tammy, got people talking and really set up tour to be a great experience. The first stop was Raleigh Brewing, we tried three different samples of, I want to say 6 ounces each while the co owner talked about the business. Then we got to see the brewery. The second stop was Crank Arm. We got to try a full serving of one of their brews while the brewer talked about the business and their brewing process. Finally back to Natty Greene's for more samples and a tour. The time goes by really fast, it's a three hour trip but it goes by fast, nicely paced though...you won't feel like you're being dragged around. Also, you can buy growlers of beer during the stops. The tour guide, Tammy, did a great job. The drive between tour stops was pretty relaxed. The only down side is picking a tour (Raleigh 1, Raleigh 2, Johnston Co., etc.) and I highly recommend a designated driver (I had one). I worked with Will to plan a private brewery tour for my husband's birthday. He was very helpful during the process and very professional. The actual tour was tons of fun. We went to Lonerider, Gizmo, and NIckelpoint. Will was really great and organized during our tour. He made sure we were able to get to our next locations on time and made sure we had a good time. I planned a private tour for my fiance's bachelor party and they had an absolute blast! It was great working with Beltline Brew Tours, who helped plan which breweries the guys would go to and then worked with those breweries to schedule the tours to fit our timeline. The guys thought it was great to hit 3 different breweries in one day and not have to worry about driving and parking for each location. My fiance loved the entire experience and from the feedback I've received I wish I was able to go with them! I had a great time at the Durham Beltline tour a couple weeks ago! It was a very smooth and enjoyable tour. We started at Bull City and learned a little bit of history on brewing beer. From there we headed to Triangle where the taps were wide open! The owner/tour guide was hilarious! From there we headed to Full Steam where Sean, the owner and celebrity (of brew dogs) explained their craft beers and gave us many samples. We ended the tour back at Bull City where we filled our bellies with awesome burgers and got to sample their craft beers. The Beltline tour guide, Tammy, was very friendly. If you like beer I would highly recommend Beltline. You get a lot for your money and overall it was a great time! I will definitely be trying out the other tours Beltline offers. read more

This is a fantastic tour! I had a great time with my friends as well as meeting new friends. Each week there is a different brewery tour and you get plenty of samples and a pint at most places. I have done all 3 tours and I highly recommend the Durham tour as those are some of my favorite breweries. Each stop takes you into the back of the brewery where the magic happens to explain the brewing process. I learned a lot, really enjoyed my time and the tour guide was very friendly and informative! I am not a huge beer fan so I was a little reluctant about the event, however, we had a wonderful time, met some really nice people and toured 3 great brewery's in Raleigh. Horrible company. Four of us found the tour online and on the website it says 'couples ticket: $45'. We emailed and asked if a couples ticket covered 2 people and got a response saying yes. So 2 of us got one couples ticket. And then the other 2 of us got another couples ticket. We show up at the meeting place and each couple hands in our tickets, the beltline girl checks the tickets and checks us in. When we go to get on the bus, she realizes it's overbooked. She then tells us we need to buy two more tickets, which we show the email and say that doesn't make any sense. So she calls another vehicle for for overflow of 3 people, says it's all good. We get to Raleigh brewing company. It didn't seem like anyone expected us and we just kind of stood there waiting around. The belt line girl then shows up, never even introduced herself or explained how the process worked and says we're gonna have to step out of the tour when she gets a call from her manager??? Okay... but we really want to enjoy the tour. The Raleigh brewing company tour guide then says we get to try 4 beers... okay... so we start picking out the beers and he's like oh y'all all have to decide, so I facilitated a vote amongst 15 strangers to decide on the beers- how weird is that? They should have picked out the beers to try. Anyways, we are about 10 min into the tour and the beltline guide comes to us with her cell phone and the manager, Will, is on the line. This is where I lose all respect for this horrible company. Will says that each person needs a couples ticket, despite the customer service rep that emailed and clarified otherwise. He then suggests we 'go home'. Well we're already on the tour (missing 50% of it at this point) so that's not really an option as we no longer can access our vehicle. Will then demands that we buy two more 'couples tickets', which would have covered 8 people, and it's still just us 4. We explain the website is very confusing which is why we asked for email verification. His rudeness escalated and he finally says 'I don't want to spend another 30 minutes on the phone with you, so just buy one more couples ticket and we'll call it even'. We had missed most of the first tour at this point and agreed to his rediculous proposal since we had already paid $90+ on the original couples tickets. The beltline guide tells us she understands the confusion after we show her the website (which I guess she never saw?) and she told us this sort of thing happens all the time and she has a pop up chair to ride in the middle of the van because it always gets overbooked. Point is, this was horrible customer service. Our whole tour couldn't believe the way we got treated and all agreed to never use this company again. I don't usually write negative reviews but this experience warrants a warning to anyone looking for a tour company: do not use these people. There are plenty of other companies that value their customers and can take ownership of a screw up on their end. read more

My husband and I received a Beltline Brew Tour as a gift for Christmas. Being regular craft beer enthusiasts, we were excited. We really wanted to do the Durham tour but scheduling conflicts prevented that so we went with Raleigh 1 tour. This tour included meeting at Tyler's Taproom followed by Lonerider, Gizmo Brewworks and then back to Tyler's. It was a hot muggy day but the bus that we traveled on was cool. There was a great mix of older and younger people on the tour which I loved. I'm not a huge fan of Tyler's but appreciate the fact that they have to end the tour at a location that has food as you will see is necessary if you attend. The first stop, Lonerider was much better than I imagined tucked way up highway 70. The man who gave the brew tour itself was funny which helped and their beer was delicious. You received four samples and one full pint. Next, Gizmo (a lot smaller of a location) provided you with four samples and a one full pint. Their brewery tour itself was a lot less involved due to their size but the beer was tasty. We finally ended the tour at Tyler's (which I'd mentioned above) and they had a few appetizers for us to share which was nice and you were able to purchase more beer is desired. Overall a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with either a group or just one friend/significant other. Definitely worth doing again! Side note: apparently the Durham tour (according to our tour guide) is the best! Dang!!!! read more

My friend booked this tour for her boyfriend's birthday. Three of us decided to join them. It was terrible. The woman running the tour never introduced herself, told us where we were going, or what we could expect at each location. For $50, we expected a good number of tastings and a tour of each facility. We ended up with very few actual tastings, toured only two of the three places, and because of the size of the group, could barely hear the people explaining the brewing process. In general it would have been more informative and far less expensive to take uber and visit the locations on our own. Extremely disappointing. read more

Not worth it at all! We would've been better off just getting Ubers from brewery to brewery and paid the same amount of money with full size beers instead of a few minis. I didn't even feel like I learned anything as it was really hard to hear the brewers and we got no information from the tour guide herself. read more

Did the Raleigh 2 tour this past weekend. It hits Nattie Greene's, Raleigh Brewing and Crank Arm. If you are concerned about not getting enough opportunities to try a variety of beers...DON'T BE. Raleigh Brewing was especially generous, but all are happy to have the tour there and share their passion for brewing. I highly recommend this as a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. read more

We went on the Durham Beltline Brew Tour and it was amazing! Even though we had already visited two of the three locations before, we had a great time and learned so much! My fiance loves to brew and he (and other non-brewers in our group) found the tour to be really interesting. I would definitely recommend going on the tour. It's a TON of fun!
