The same person, Mr. Corey, would answer whenever I called, and he was often not helpful. He would direct me to the same pages on the website that did not answer my questions. I would not recommend booking this class if you are not tech-savvy because the website is difficult to navigate, and getting help from the staff was also difficult. The driving school itself was fine, and I do not have many complaints about the classes. However, Mr. Corey was often out on certain days, although those absences were eventually excused for the students. The biggest issue was scheduling the drive times. My daughter had surgery and had to wait a couple of months before she could start her driving sessions. We trusted the driving school and expected her to be able to get her license around March, but the process ended up being delayed all the way until October. The drive times were so spread out that it made it difficult for her to build confidence and consistency. We also had an issue when my daughter needed to cancel one of her scheduled drive times. She emailed the school explaining that she needed to cancel, but they told her it was too close to the appointment and that we would be charged if she did not show up. We were two states away, so she obviously could not attend. They charged me and later said she should have canceled through the website, even though that was never explained to us. Afterward, my daughter booked another drive time, but the school canceled the newly scheduled appointment and told her she had to pay again because of the previous missed appointment. She eventually found another available date, which was today, September 23, at 6:45 a.m. Thankfully, she is a senior and had a flexible schedule so she could miss school. Unfortunately, the experience with Mr. Corey during this drive time was extremely disappointing. My daughter said he was rude, made smart comments, and made her feel uncomfortable throughout the lesson. She was already not very confident because her drive times had been spread out from July through September, and while I had been practicing with her, she needed more consistent instruction from a professional. He told her that she "doesn't do what he says" and that she likes doing the opposite of what he tells her. She is still learning, which is the entire reason she is taking driving lessons. When she asked questions about driving in the rain, he made comments calling them "stupid questions." I understand that driving instructors need to be firm because they are responsible for safety, but there is a difference between being firm and making a student feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. My daughter remained calm and professional throughout the lesson, which I was proud of, especially considering our previous issues with the same person. On top of everything else, Mr. Corey only showed her how to reverse and did not properly teach her how to pull into a parking space or go over basic parking rules. Thankfully, we have been teaching her those things ourselves. I honestly do not understand how someone who is supposed to teach and encourage new drivers can speak to students this way. I wanted to share this experience because we have had repeated issues throughout the process, and I could not let it go without saying something.
