We stopped in for breakfast on a beautiful morning & I'm happy we did. This place is modern & clean but still has a laid back beach vibe. We chose to sit outside facing the water which was nice. I ordered the chili scrambled eggs and added grilled tomato and bacon. I was skeptical at first because I like heat but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the feta & I'm happy I added the bacon & grilled tomato but it would have been fine without as well. My partner ordered the big breakfast and we both had more than enough to eat - he said it was delicious as well. We were surprised it wasn't busy when we showed up, however by the time we left it was picking up quite a bit. We stayed to enjoy our coffees, and we liked it so much we decided to book dinner reservations for this weekend as well. read more

Designed for them to make the most money not for customer experience. booked for inside, got stuck outside streetside where it was cold and noisy. Very very cold- eating rugged ip in coats and under blankets they provided- like refugee camp. Had to ferry our tables drinks from the bar (why at these prices are there not enough servers?). Most of the Food was good but the menu is VERY limited (ie fish and chip is only battered). Had to order a side of veggies if you hoped for some and the small quarter of a potato was rock hard undercooked, a sliver of pumpkin and few green beans- like austerity rations. read more

We came here for lunch on a Thursday as a family of 4 with a 8 and 6 year old on a sunny day. Plenty of space in the covered outside area. Ambiance and decor is beautiful with a beachy, california vibe. There's one section marked as dog friendly with water bowls and such and the other is mostly for humans. For the little ones there's a fantastic playground in the back where they can go wild while you enjoy a drink or food. We ordered through a QR code on the table. Water is self serve, other drinks came quickly. From the menu we order the seafood for 2 and added chips/fries as well as green vegetables. As you can see in the pic, the seafood bucket is stunning. Plenty to share as a family of 4 or 3-4 adults when you add some sides. Great quality, flavors and fresh. As we paid through the app too I can't comment too much on service except that wait times were fine. As someone who eats low carb / keto and having family members with allergies, I'm not a fan of places that state on the menu that they can't make adjustments to plates and in line with that online ordering did not allow any customizations. That led to the 4 stars for me. Although we loved the seafood, with the ordering restrictions many other options on the menu were ruled out for us. We'll be back for drinks though! read more

To be honest, the main reason that I made me way down to Woody Point was to basically visit this pub. Well, that shouldn't be all that surprising, though I am sort of in two minds about this place. In one case it was, well, a bit disappointing, and the service was pretty bad, but that was really only in the bottle shop. The sports bar, well, that isn't that great as well, however they have an absolutely awesome beer garden, and in this garden there are bars that serve some absolutely awesome beers. It is a shame that I only ended up in the front bar as opposed to the beer garden (but then again I did have a bus to catch). read more

Stunnung renovation, great atmosphere, this is my second visit since the Reno. Each time I've had pizza. I was a frequent visitor to the Brl in the past and enjoyed the pizzas from the pizza oven immensely. Great quality and toppings. I never had any issues. I visited about three weeks ago and had a late lunch/early dinner snd ordered the lobster/gambaro pizza. It had a slight aroma, but I put that down to the seafood. it was Ok, certainly not up to the previous standard. The beer was cold and delicious. I suffered a badly upset stomach for the next three days. You will note I had not had anything to eat since breakfast. Visited again tonight and avoided the lobster - chose instead the chicken/preserved lemon pizza. Beer again cold and delicious. The pizza was rather disappointing in presentation, uninspiring. i was disappointed to have either a small bone or piece of gristle in the second piece of chicken I ate. I can only describe its taste the same as it looked - bland. not bad enough to send back but really again not up to your former standard. I described it as the Aldi frozen pizza you buy on the way home from work as you couldn't be bothered cooking. A dull experience which fulfilled the hunger but was not particularly enjoyable. Things have changed at the Bel. We both ordered the Big Breakfast and it came out pretty quickly, but that turned out to be a very bad thing... The 'poached' eggs were hard boiled and felt so cold that I'm sure they just came out of the fridge. The only things on the plate that were warm (not even hot) were the hash brown and sausage. We got the eggs replaced and they came out soft poached, but somehow they were still not hot. I haven't had a breakfast this bad in a very long time, and I unfortunately this is the second very bad breakfast we've had here so we'll scratch the Bel off our list of Saturday breakfast options. read more

Ordered the eggplant meal (not many vegetarian meals on the menu to choose from) so disappointEd. fried eggplant in a pan with cherry tomatoes, a tiny amount of feta cheese and a couple of basil leaves. no rich tomato sauce no cheese no crunchy topping it was totally bland, looked horrid. god knows who came up with such a horrid dish. This venue has an amazing view of the beach. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are friendly and really helpful. The food was great too, lots of options on the menu. Had a lovely lunch with a friend at the Belvedere and got to enjoy the water views in the warmth but under cover of a big umbrella! Service was good, although you need to pick the 'far' entry to save walking through have the dining area to get to the front desk and be seated. We both ordered starters as these are big enough for a lunch meal with chips to share. Salt and Pepper Calamari was the go, with a small salad on the side, perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious, and it was dusted not crumbed ! Yay, I get so sick of seafood being crumbed or battered all the time! Chips were very good, cant usually go wrong there. We both had a sneaky drink at lunch, and with James Squire Pale All and Ciders on tap we were both very content to try and make our lunch last as long as possible. Trying to convince my other friends to have lunch dates now so I have an excuse to go back! read more

I went here to celebrate my wife's university graduation. In my opinion it was the perfect place to do it. There was a group of about fifteen of us, all family and friends, and we were expecting to have a grand evening out. From entering the Belvedere we welcomed by some fresh-faced staff and informed that our table was being readied. We took this time to order some drinks and peruse the menu. Everything on there seemed well priced, a 500-gram eye fillet was about thirty dollars and a pan-fried barramundi was around the same price. Maybe it was because we were there relatively early, but the place was a little low on patronage. After our table made our orders we were thankful for arriving at the time we did as droves of people started to enter for the evening rush. From that point on the Belvedere was full of life and action. The steak I had ordered was served on a bed of herbed mash potatoes and the side vegetables were cooked to that point where they are crispy and soft at the same time. Excellent. Around the table there was only one complaint, that the night had to end. read more

The thing about Brisbane is that just outside the CBD there lies these fantastic suburban areas that are full of gems to wine and dine at. The Belvedere at Woody Point, about 40 kms North of Brisbane and right on the water, is one such gem. I have been here a few times now, for lunch and dinner, and I have yet to be disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful and the dining area is big and airy. The menu can be a bit on the pricey side, but for good steak and a wide variety of seafood it is to be expected however by no means does this mean that The Belvedere does a bad meal for the prices they charge. I have shelled out (pardon the pun!) for the reef and beef main meal (steak, moreton bay bug and prawns) and my steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the cut was so tender, it was fantastic. There are a lot of other things to sample on the menu and while the classics remain there are some small seasonal changes that come and go. The view is also pretty nice, the restaurant isn't quite on the water, but close enough to overlook the cars out front and just kick back and relax. read more

Came here for a drink and a meal on a Saturday night. It was fairly quiet when we rocked up, and we took our drinks out onto the balcony overlooking the water. It was quite nice while we were the only one there, but unfortunately it's the designated smoking area. There are no outdoor areas to sit and breathe in the sea air. We had to move once the smokers turned up or risk suffocating. At this point we decided to have dinner. There seemed to be a small bistro/dining area, but none of that for us! On to the steak and crab house. This place is MASSIVE (I looked up the functions page, it can accomodate 700!). It was busy, but still plenty of seats, and we got seated easy enough. We were outside which got a bit chilly, but the staff were happy to turn on one of the heaters that dot the outdoor area. The menu was extensive enough, with plenty of options both crab, steak and other things I gave only a cursory glance. Their starters are actually big enough to be a full meal too. The staff were all friendly, the meals came fairly quickly despite the people there (you do order at the kitchen, no actual table service), and we both enjoyed our meals thoroughly. It's a place for everyone: With tones of dining areas and spaces it's a place for everyone and any occasion! Food was amazing but the staff failed to inform any customers about the long wait period. We waited 1.5 hours for steak and a chicken salad, the table next to us waited 2 hours for fish and chips and the table behind us waited 2.5 hours for a burger. The management need to increase the amount of staff available as they really dropped the ball on this. They manager told the staff to just keep telling everyone their food is coming... Just a few more minutes... That is deceitful and so very wrong. read more

We went for lunch on a Sunday and began with drinks inside near the Cafe. Was a pleasant start and the drinks were great. Staff were extremely polite as we had a pram and very helpful. Lunch was average. There was lunch entertainment which was fairly loud and unfortunately we had to request a high chair despite ordering it on reservation. The food was alright. The quality of seafood was excellent but execution was average. Some on our table ordered surf and turf but the surf was cold and not grilled (as per the description on menu). There was a fear of birds defecating over us and having worked in hospitality I understand the need to be efficient but to be removing plates when there are still other people on the same table eating made you feel rushed. read more

I ordered the Pot of Mussels special yesterday for Lunch, The broth was nice which saved the dish however 6-8 Mussels were uncooked another 8 Mussels were unopened. Half the ones I could find had Beards like Santa Claus. The chef should have left them another 2-5 minutes before serving so very disappointed at the laziness in removing beard and lack of respect for what should have been a hero dish. The waiter asked if I wanted a free beer which I declined as I was not drinking, he said he would let the chef know. I don't suspect this will improve. read more

I can not understand how Dogs are allowed at this restaurant especially around food we were quite surprised to see people with dogs walking in even seen dogs in prams when we questions management about it we were told that there was a dog area but where we were sitting at our table there was dogs at the table behind us, it is pretty bad when people can't leaves there pets at home for a couple of hours this is not a pet restaurent, i think the Health Department should be looking into this, we will not be going back. read more

We had a party of 6 and we found it hard to get a table on the deck with views. The food is good pub food. Overall good, but next time I am going to insist on a booking. read more

Absolute rip off ($430 for 3 ppl). Poor food. Poor service. Went there for lunch and drinks. Over three hours we had one main meal each and about 6 rounds of drinks (3 people!). Firstly, food was appalling. I had grilled fish. Charged $30 for a frozen piece of fish that was watery and bland. I was offered a side of chips for an additional $2. I didn't even receive a complete cut of fish either- the middle had a "v" shaped piece missing from it. The other two meals were battered fish of the day. Both were over cooked. Also should mention that the seal the bottle of table water came in was covered in mould and therefore undrinkable. We were drinking double vodka and tonic (6 rounds). Our bill came to $430. Yes, $430. Double checked it thinking there must have been some mistake. But no. That was correct. They don't even offer table service!! Have never been so angry in my life to receive a bill like that. Totally understand that it was my fault to start a tab and not scrutinise every drink price but I also don't understand how they feel they can justify prices like with such poor service, terrible food and extortionate prices. read more

The 1 star is for the location and the view. We went there for lunch today and after waiting one and a half hours for our lunch we asked for our money back, as did a few others. As we said to the manager if they had given us a heads up about the wait we wouldn't have ordered there. When we questioned the waitress she seemed to indicate that was a normal wait time. Not on! What if you were a diabetic and there were families with small children. At least be honest. Happy to take your money while you sit there and drink. I will no longer recommend this business to anyone. Short version, terrible customer service, bookings get taken but not recorded, you get dumped outside and ignored and some times you can't even get someone to take your reservation on the phone, you just get transferred numerous times. Long version/explanation: Mothers Day 2013 my father decided our family was going to the cafe for the Mothers Day breakfast. He booked a few weeks before, he confirmed the week before and on the day we proudly took mum there. We tell them our name (and every possibly variation) and after searching the book for several minutes they tell us we don't have a booking but they can seat us outside. We agree so mum can still have her breakfast, despite the fact that it is cold, windy, wet outside and inside is 90% empty. Staff ignored us all morning, and as it was so cold and windy outside, our food was cold before we ever got to eat it. Very disappointing experience. I emailed, explained the situation and asked for someone to call me. A week later, no email, no call. I phone them and ask to speak to a manager regarding it. They tell me someone will call me back. No call, no email weeks later. July 2013. Dad's birthday. I decide to book him in at the steak house for a birthday dinner. What man doesn't love his steak! I called the steakhouse number, asked for a booking. I got told they will transfer me to the relevant staff. I get transferred. And transferred. And transferred. After about 10 minutes and a good 8-10 transfers, I cracked it at the person on the phone and finally had my booking taken. Turned up on the night, seated no problem, lovely meal. Made up for the stuffing around. August 2013. I get an email "Join us for Fathers Day breakfast/lunch/dinner". I think great, and call to book lunch in the steakhouse as we enjoyed it last time. I was told "we need to transfer you to the events manager for your booking". Cue transfer. And another. And another. This time, I started getting short with each person. Each apologised and transferred me to yet another person. 35 minutes later and a minimum of 20 transfers, I ask to be put onto a manger. "Sure thing" they tell me. Transfer. "Hello, this is the Watersun Cafe, what can I help you with". I ask for a manager again, get transferred again and end up back with the steakhouse. Again. Three more attempts to get a manger later and I give up. I hang up, decide to go elsewhere for Fathers Day. I go to email a complaint as calling gets me nowhere. The only email contact available now is for the events bookings, so I asked them to pass it onto a manager. This morning, a manager calls me. He explains he "doesn't know what happened, any and all staff are capable of booking, I'll take your booking now". I explain I am going elsewhere due to the lack of service and he offers me a free drink if I return. I tell him I'm going elsewhere but thanks for the call. read more
