With endless supply of oysters, massels, bugs, salmon, prawns, and more any seafood foodie will not be disappointed or leave hungry. For non seafood loves there is plenty on offer with a two hot bars, salads bar, cheese bar, soup bar, fruit bar, kids bar, drinks bar, and finally a dessert bar and ice-cream bar. Pricey but worth it. Get there before 7:30pm to avoid an hour wait. Can't wait to go again.

I was vacationing on the Gold Coast with my parents, and we went in here for dinner on a whim because we were dressed pretty casually and they looked a little more forgiving of boardshorts and flip-flops than the other trendy dinner spots nearby. At first I had my reservations about whether or not I could eat anything here, but when I told the manager I was vegan, he didn't even bat an eye. He said they have two veggie burgers on the menu, neither of which uses egg in the binder. He volunteered this information on his own -- I didn't even have to ask, which definitely shows he's knowledgeable about veganism, because most restaurant proprietors have no clue that a lot of veggie burgers use egg. There are two veggie burgers -- the Eats Roots and Leaves ($14.50, red lentil and chickpea patty with coleslaw and tomato relish) and the Magic Mushroom ($12, mushroom patty with lettuce, red peppers, feta, and garlic ailoi). He told me the Magic Mushroom could be made vegan without the feta and aioli, but I'm not a mushroom fanatic so I opted with the Eats Roots and Leaves, which was DELICIOUS. All the flavours just melded together perfectly, and the patty stayed together perfectly, no crumbling. The bun wasn't too scratchy or hard (like some burger buns in Oz are) and it was a very filling dinner with a side of fries for under $20. My parents also enjoyed their (meaty) burgers and fries. Make no mistake, this place is a drinking establishment too -- as evidenced by their splashy cocktail and wine list, and the raucous (possible hen's party) group of women enjoying their bevvies next to us. So you don't have to have a meal here to enjoy this place (although the food really is great.) The atmosphere is...well, Broadbeach. Trendy, shiny, and all those other adjectives. A splashy mural was painted on one wall, depicting a typical Gold Coast beach scene (including bikini-clad maidens and ibis stealing food), and some of the seating areas had swings suspended from the ceiling as chairs! I wanted to sit at a table with swings, but my parents weren't keen and the hen's party swooped in and seized them anyway. Quite the hub on a weekend, the road is fairly quiet during the week. It is the perfect place to spend a lazy day shopping and and eating. While the boutique stores are not the cheapest around, you will find some items that are not readily available everywhere, such as imported shoes or designer clothes. There are plenty of places to dine out, from funky little cafes like Like My Spoon to upscale bakeries such as Le Bon Choix. Parking is a little bit of a hassle on weekends, since it is mainly street parking available which fills up pretty quickly. Racecourse Road feels like a little community. At Christmas time there are red ribbons on all the trees. You can find people selling fresh strawberries and cherries out of a van on the side of the road, or just wonder along and browse the many shops. A joke of a punishment for the crime. On video you can see this sick man speed up in a Audi, intentionally, to hit a child on a bike on the side of the road out of traffic. He proceeds to scream at the child, while the child pleaded for his life. I hope karma does her magic. Even more concerning is how Mr. Wright seemed to justify his actions by blaming the child's bike as "illegal," rather than genuinely acknowledging the danger and illegality his own driving posed. I expect higher ethical standards and community responsibility from anyone at the helm of a hospitality business. While the restaurant itself may serve somewhat average food or drinks, I personally cannot support an establishment whose leadership shows such disregard for safety and empathy--especially when a young child's wellbeing is at stake. Until clear accountability and genuine remorse are demonstrated, I'll be dining elsewhere. If you care about patronizing businesses that reflect your values, I would encourage you to consider taking your money and support elsewhere, too. The experience at these venues sucked before these events occurred too, every other option nearby provide a way better experience. Terrible for family photos. Terrible lighting

I ordered a Peroni beer and fell over backwards as it arrived in a 500ml glass. They also had a special going that is you order a pizza and two 300 ml Peroni beers you pay $25. This cafe wine beer bar had friendly staff and is an Italian bar. Definitely worth a visit if you want to meet up with friends over a quiet drink.
